Is Fredo Really Going On One Last Fishing Trip?

Tater floated the very real possibility that Fredo would be back by the first or second week of January.

That sounds right to me. As I keep saying, the minute CNN fires him, MSNBC hires him to take over the 9pm slot for the departing Queen of Lies Rachel Maddow, who will end her daily show sometime in spring 2022.

But the New York Post hears from CNN insiders that Fredo might have banged his last waitresses two-at-a-time at the Copa.

CNN president Jeff Zucker hit the roof when he saw evidence showing that Chris Cuomo used his journalistic connections to try to help his brother beat the sexual harassment scandal that forced him to resign as governor, The Post has learned.

“It was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” one CNN insider said Wednesday.

“Zucker loved Chris, but the e-mails and texts did it.”

Another CNN source said of Cuomo, “His biggest crime was he lied to Zucker.”

“He didn’t own up to it,” the source said.

“There’s nothing worse than an e-mail or text. It’s in writing.”

...

"I don't see how he survives this," a third source said of Chris Cuomo.

"The buzz inside CNN is it's over."

Meanwhile, all the other leftwing rats are scrambling for position in this dreary Game of Thrones (of Lies).

One source said Tapper -- who publicly blasted Chris Cuomo's ethics in May, after The Washington Post revealed he took part in strategy sessions with his brother's aides and advisers -- appeared to be gunning for the gig.

Of course the rat-faced ratfvcker is wheedling and whining for the job. He stinks of careerist Yuppie ambition and always has.

CNN's Don Lemon, who hosts the 10 p.m. show that follows "Cuomo Prime Time" is also considered a top contender, sources said, with one adding that chief media correspondent Brian Stelter "wants the job."

That's adorable.

I alluded to a top stakeholder in the new owner of CNN wanting to get back to real journalism before, but here's the actual quote:

"I would like to see CNN evolve back to the kind of journalism that it started with, and actually have journalists, which would be unique and refreshing," said the head of Liberty Media, which has a significant stake in the Warners-Discovery conglomerate.

I am taking issue with the terminology, not the general sentiment. Although I always think it is a very, very bad idea to plan around one person- no matter how good or noble- it is a bad thing to introduce into person's mind.

Try and set things up and train your people to be able to make do even if you get hit by a bus. No 'succession' plan needed- it is just being a competent leader who gives a shit.

As our viewers are well aware, Fredo Cuomo's program has been suspended and he is no longer appearing on the network for the time being. He didn't just tell about how Jussie set it up; he gave a full confession to his part in the staged attack, in great detail. (he's been given immunity in exchange for his testimony)

Can you imagine the impact on a jury when someone gets on the stand and makes a full confession, while dishing all the dirt on their co-conspirators? We know Jussie is an idiot, but allowing a trial to come to this level of farce is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.

Bonus Fun: Because of some pre-trial interactions, Jussie's lawyer is forbidden by the Court from talking to the brothers or from asking them any questions, either on or off the stand.

The brothers originally were going to have Jussie's lawyer represent them as well, and they had talks with him apparently revealing confidential, privileged information. Then they all had a falling out. But they said it was unfair to let them be questioned by him in court because they had already spoken to him thinking their communication was privileged.

The Court told Jussie that if he wanted them questioned in court he needed to get a new lawyer, but he didn't. The entire situation is the fault of Jussie's lawyer.

Trump had a lot of washouts.

That's true, but I think it's very different. If you worked for Trump, you faced a lot of personal attacks from all sides. You weren't writing your own ticket, you were taking your career in your hands. Additionally, a lot of Trump staffers were NOT true believers. Plenty of them actively worked against him. Also, Trump was hard on people that didn't get results. I don't think Kamala is the kind who runs a merit based reward / punishment system. She seems more like the "lash out at people around you when you're mad" type.

266 Okay - so a federal judge tonight is considering not giving plaintiffs venue because they are all from Michigan and Dominion is located in Denver, only because the suit was filed in...the district that incorporates Colorado?

This turns venue on its head - you are SUPPOSED to sue the bastard in the state he resides. This FEDERAL judge is contemplating not allowing plaintiffs to be from another state...WTF?

One of the plaintiffs' lawyers is Alan Dershowitz - love to hear his comments on this knucklehead development.

There was someone by the name of Andrew Breitbart that said "Politics is downstream of culture" - a person who used to enjoy the comments here when he was alive.

Hollywood creates cultural events. Yes, commie indoctrination pushes the envelope along. Recognizing the cultural events early and pushing back strenuously is something 'our side' does poorly.

You're not seriously saying a single fcking movie sank "nucular" power here, vs oh I don't know, decades of commie indoctrination in our schools?

Posted by: Helena Handbasket

HELL NO.
Nuclear died due to Shoreham cost overruns. The public did not want to pay for the cost so they claimed it was unsafe.

The cost overruns came from seismic retrofits before it was finished construction. It was wildly expensive, something like 10x cost, and the ratepayers balked. Lilco did not flinch, since cost was no object and once it was turned on they could raise prices to cover it. That meant the thing dragged on and a 3x overrun became 10x.

The "grass roots" movement to kill shoreham made all the other utilities scared of nuclear. TMI was minor. the movie was a nothing.

Well, the Mini IS built by BMW, but guessing you're talking about the actual marque. There's the 1 series BMW, girls dug the convertible (as usual). They also like the Smart, which is that thing that looks like a running shoe built by Mercedes. In Europe, they fit in on streets that are 6' wide. Here, they're blocking freeway lanes for mopeds, and nearly airborne at 50.

426 Erm... what seismic retrofits and why? Do we do the same thing for any other types of power plants?
Posted by: Bill Gates

The NRC was still figuring things out. The retrofits were not that bad, but they added enormous delays, and with the cost of capital back then that made the cost rise very quickly. If it was operating, they could have done them at reasonable cost. If they had not started, they could have done them at reasonable cost. But they had built it, and then started reinforcing everything (pipes, etc.) in case of an earthquake and that added enormous delays.

It was the delays and high interest rates that killed it.

Yes, all power plants have to meet seismic standards. At the time they did not think an earthquake on Long Island was likely, but then the NRC changed their mind (IIRC)

The one thing I would have to imagine different about the Hollywood version vs the book version is that I can not imagine how a single person in the Hollywood version should have been in a mental health facility. Hollywood played them all as lovable 'rascals' - with perhaps the unfortunate immature male that nurse r____ emasculated into suicide being the exception.

It was a hit piece. Our cities now pay the price, where some innocent walks down the street and gets stabbed in the neck, for no apparent reason. But the cities will still vote (D).

434 > no the stank on fredo is too great; he will maybe be back as a guest here and there but he won't host a show anymore

New show idea: Fredo teams up with Dan Rather to travel the country fighting crime.

Also starring: Other Brother Fredo. Special guest star: soon-to-be-former-VP Commie Lay Harris. With: Jeffrey Toobin. Featuring: Elizabeth Warren.

Pilot episode synopsis: Commie Lay takes part in a wet tee shirt contest in a biker bar, in an attempt to raise enough gas money to get to the next town (gasoline having risen $24.95/gallon), wearing her custom-made "44 Long" t-shirt. Toobin makes an unfortunate crack about "riding a broken-down old Indian" (referring to Warren), which one of the bikers interprets as a slur on his classic Indian motorcycle, meanwhile Other Brother Fredo is getting handsy with the biker chicks, which their men do not appreciate. A brawl ensues. The team is forced to flee in the Commie Cruiser minivan, which Toobin (the best man with a hose) has managed to refuel from the motorcycle gas tanks, with Commie Lay demonstrating GRRRL POWER by helping out with the suction part.

466 I will not claim that the public mental hospitals back then were wonderful places. They were chronically underfunded from the 1930s through the 1950s, and even into the 1960s, conditions in some were the shame of civilized people everywhere. (Ken Kesey wrote the novel One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest after taking LSD and going to work at a mental hospital, and the film by that name is not a documentary.) But it did mean that many people who were mentally ill were either locked up (where they did not have access to guns, knives, or gasoline) or at least not sleeping on a park bench, catching pneumonia. We had a similar incident near here, a few years after I graduated high school. Guy robs the local bank. Wearing his old varsity football jacket. With his name on it.

He went to prison for a number of years for that one. The local joke was that even though his jacket said "Linebacker" under his name, they'd have to change it to "Wide Receiver" after he got out of the pen.

482 > Revealed in Ghislaine trial today: There was a guy whose job was to 'clean up' after Epstein's thrice-daily 'massages.'

I've done some fairly unpleasant/degrading jobs to make a buck in my day (worst was probably the slime line in a salmon cannery), but I thank all that is holy I never had to put something like "Jeffrey Epstein's Jizz Mopper" on my resume.

483 It's not Inslee that is the problem. It's Ferguson, the AG. He'd set up camps in a heartbeat.

484 Just finishing up The Great Escape on Roku. Damn that's a good movie, definitely in my top 5 ww2 movies and only surpassed by The Big Red One

From your link:

(Not incidentally: those ''inhumane'' therapeutic modalities in the movie were still considered cutting edge and enlightened in the early 1960s. Just like progressives today assure us that de-institutionalizing the mentally ill - a cause helped considerably by the popularity of Cuckoo's Nest - and indulging the perverse surgical whims of disturbed castration fetishists who call themselves 'transgendered' are enlightened, too.)

We didn't stop it then. Maybe this time?

Only after the shooting war unless China Joe effs up so monumentally that it can be accomplished relatively peacefully.
