I grew up in a traditional Midwestern home. My brother and I served as remote controls for our father and mother. TV viewing consisted of 3 major networks and PBS.

After the Thanksgiving holiday Christmas shows started hitting the airwaves. They were wholesome shows without a political agenda. Those were the good old days.

Leave it to the Woke Left to %#@ up Santa Claus and his lovely bride. Santa is gay.

A new ad for the postal service in Norway portrays the story of a man falling in love with Santa over the years and ends with them kissing to celebrate the decriminalization of homosexuality in Norway.
The nearly four-minute long ad, entitled “When Harry Met Santa,” begins with a shirtless man wandering downstairs and discovering Santa dropping off gifts before vanishing up the chimney.

Another tradition that most of us grew up with be the Salvation Army's bell ringers in front of retail outlets. I know I use to throw a few bucks in every year.

The yoga instructor turned star decided that the best way to remediate the situation was to film it and post it to her Instagram story, admitting that she was “kind of proud” of Rafael’s “spelling [and] reading.”

If nothing else, comedian Dave Chappelle has proven during the recent dustup over daring to joke about transgendered people that he is an intelligent man capable of deeper thought than some give him credit for.
Evidence of this was seen yet again this week when Chappelle made a surprise visit to his alma mater, D.C.’s Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

My guess is that he was alive today, Sam Kinison would be in the same boat as Chappelle.

The Salvation Army is a church and as with many denominational offices, the people in the head office and the hierarchy are much more to the left than most of the ordinary members. The problem here is a matter of perspective. If you are an America-hating atheist leftwinger, those shows did have a political agenda that they hated. They were as offensive to such a person as transgenders reading in libraries to little kids while 'accidentally' flashing their junk at the kids. From their perspective this wasn't normal or average, it was shocking, hateful, and miserable.

There's no state in which there were no political agendas or ideology on display. What's at stake here is what the agenda is, whether its positive and constructive, or even sane or not.

The horrible part is because of their demented take on reality, the people that need help the most will suffer. As a rule, lefties do not give to Christian organizations, or charitable organizations (real ones). Virtue signaling is more important. The Elf on the Shelf is a lot of fun. I bought one for my Godchildren, they named him Marley. Their mom told them that I had a special connection with Santa and that's how he ended up being at their house.
My girlfriend (their mom) and I would come up with all these silly antics that Marley would perform while they were asleep. When they woke up they would jump out of bed to find Marley and see what crazy things he had done.
My Godchildren are now 13 and 16 and have moved to Mexico, but they wrote me a letter a few months ago thanking me for all the magical memories they had growing up in Houston. Of course my house was also known as the Halloween house (it was pretty over the top) so that had a lot to do with their childhoods being magical, but their memories of Marley will live forever.

I will say, Lazy did help December behavior for a decade+ (b/c when you have 4 kids, you can't just get rid of the elf when the 1st stops believing, thus setting oneself up for success at the get go, when it was Auntie's choice)...

Truth be told, John became very passive-aggressive at the end of the Beatles. He wasn't doing his job, and showing up at the studio so stoned he could barely do anything. But at the same time he came to resent Paul taking the reins and taking charge. In John's mind, right or wrong, the Beatles were and always will be HIS band.

He knew bringing Yoko in would annoy them, but at that point didn't care, and things just got worse from there.

I remember back at the time, there was a long piece in Rolling Stone by a writer who spent a lot of time talking to Chapman in prison, trying to figure out what was in his head. It was an amazingly well written piece, in that it provided a view into the mind of someone who is totally batshit crazy.

The gist of what I remember is that Chapman had severe self-identity issues (among other things) and had started to believe that He was actually John Lennon, who he worshiped. But the existence of the Real John Lennon mocked his beliefs; and he came to believe that all he had to do to become John Lennon was to kill the other John Lennon, and then he could take his place. Possibly he had also started to hate himself and wanted to kill himself, but since he believed he was John Lennon he had to kill John Lennon to do that.

After reading that, I realized, "okay Chapman really was totally fucking insane."

My daughter cheerfully replied, "oh no, my Dad and Mom are divorced now." (I'm dying another slow death inside). And the man selling trees gives me $20 off the price of the tree to help out a single mother. It was a nice acknowledgment of my situation, but I didn't really NEED that $20, there were many other people who were in much worse situations than I was. So I decided to put the extra money in those Salvation Army kettles. Been doing it for years, encouraged my kids to as well.
Today I read that The Salvation Army would rather that I, a person born with the impossible original sin of being WHITE, apologize for my racism. So, no more little red kettles for me this year. I will go find a charity that doesn't care what color my skin is.
