Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Media: Biden’s Devastating Inflation Is A Good Reason To Eliminate Beloved American TraditionsYour Thanksgiving meal was a lot more expensive this year. As Clay Travis notes below, wholesale turkey prices are up more than 300% from Thanksgiving 2020 (when Donald Trump was President) to Thanksgiving 2021 with Joe Biden as President. Our despicable media, which has been doing everything they can to make excuses for the Biden administration’s wage-destroying inflation policies, is finally acknowledging that inflation exists. (And the inflation rate is a heck of a lot higher than the transparently dishonest 6.2% the Biden administration is reporting.) The media’s solution? Eliminate the wonderful traditions of the holiday! They tell us you can do simple things, such as eliminating the turkey. Or no longer gathering together with family and others you care about. The hate-America left, which includes the media, are unrelenting in their quest to destroy every tradition that makes this a great country. Inflation is not only destroying the purchasing power of average Americans, it is another weapon to destroy everything you love about this country, by the ruling-class elites who despise normal Americans. My wife and I hosted a delightful Thanksgiving dinner, with several of her family members joining us. The food and fellowship were wonderful, and we had numerous conversations about our many blessings, for which we repeatedly expressed our gratitude. We never discussed politics or the divisions in this country. But now that Thanksgiving is over, I can revel in knowing that our day of thanks was greatly offensive to the political and media elites who seek to destroy the beautiful tradition of Thanksgiving. Until now. I've never said "holy shit!" at the meat market - not even as a broke student during Carter. I can say the typical rise in price is about 30% for what used to be pretty standard cuts. My local market deli occasionally does a tasty bake and serve chicken cordon bleu, 4 in a pack. They'd go for $11-13ish for 4 of them depending on size. I just looked on Tuesday, $18-19 for same. I cooked a meh thanksgiving dinner. It was still nice to have the stuffing, and the turkey came out fine, the other dishes were not yucky, just meh compared to some of my better years. I spent less than last year when I didn't get my turkey until Tues. or maybe even Wed before thanksgiving and ended up with a monster weight bird at a higher price. But FJB anyway. It has taken me a year to shake off the doom feelings and get back to "well history will proceed regardless, I need to focus on enjoying life in the mean time" and I'm still not fully there.

It's non Christian leftists-witness the media-who try to guilt people into saying "Maybe you should have presents."
Posted by: FenelonSpoke When I was a child, getting and giving gifts was SO MUCH FUN! As I got older, and had the money to buy myself the things that I wanted, it became more of giving gifts, to try to make someone else happy. The enduring things I remember are midnight service on Christmas Eve, the times decorating the tree. The remembering ...now. Christ and God's love for man are the center of the holiday, just like Easter. I do now get tired of the banality of shopping and the who idea of gift giving. The happiest time of last Christmas (besides Christmas Eve with my wife), was having my kids over, and playing with my grandson in the snow. But that is being made up for by people prepping and buying ten years worth of some things. Also, shutting down non-essential stores/services (non-BigCorp) created other shortages. The Gaia-worshippers are all into this as well. After all, you can eliminate all those factory farms for turkeys and cows farting the earth into ozone depletion, or climate change, or whatever the BS line is currently. And don't forget curtailing large get-togethers that require driving our global warmers to get there.
For our Thanksgiving, we drove 40 miles to my sister-in-law's in the carbon-spewing SUV, where 13 of us feasted on lavish amounts of turkey with all the trimmings, mashed spuds, 2 kinds of dressing, token green veggies, and 3 different desserts. I've quit tolerating, or willingly being around, people that I have to think "don't talk about politics" to be around. Politics touches everything. Let us ponder an alternate scenario. Let's speculate that several Kyle Rittenhouses were in the parade or nearby it when the demented racist black supremacist pimp decided to ram his truck through the parade. Let us further speculate that instead of crushing a bunch of elderly people his truck and body were riddled with bullets, coasting to a safe stop before hitting anyone.
Imagine the press, the reaction, the horror of the left at a black man being gunned down before he could murder a bunch of elderly people and a little boy. Imagine their screams of horror and the lack of proof that he'd have killed a bunch of people and put scores more in the hospital. Kind of. He wanted a travel ban to and from Muslim countries on Day One. Which was his right. No less than Jimmy Carter instituted a similar ban after the Iran Hostage Crisis. So, of course, the courts told Trump he couldn't. And Trump obeyed. A very early precursor to how this was all going to go down. I miss the white couch.
