Media: Biden’s Devastating Inflation Is A Good Reason To Eliminate Beloved American Traditions

Your Thanksgiving meal was a lot more expensive this year. As Clay Travis notes below, wholesale turkey prices are up more than 300% from Thanksgiving 2020 (when Donald Trump was President) to Thanksgiving 2021 with Joe Biden as President.

Our despicable media, which has been doing everything they can to make excuses for the Biden administration’s wage-destroying inflation policies, is finally acknowledging that inflation exists. (And the inflation rate is a heck of a lot higher than the transparently dishonest 6.2% the Biden administration is reporting.)

The media’s solution? Eliminate the wonderful traditions of the holiday! They tell us you can do simple things, such as eliminating the turkey. Or no longer gathering together with family and others you care about.

The hate-America left, which includes the media, are unrelenting in their quest to destroy every tradition that makes this a great country. Inflation is not only destroying the purchasing power of average Americans, it is another weapon to destroy everything you love about this country, by the ruling-class elites who despise normal Americans.

My wife and I hosted a delightful Thanksgiving dinner, with several of her family members joining us. The food and fellowship were wonderful, and we had numerous conversations about our many blessings, for which we repeatedly expressed our gratitude. We never discussed politics or the divisions in this country.

But now that Thanksgiving is over, I can revel in knowing that our day of thanks was greatly offensive to the political and media elites who seek to destroy the beautiful tradition of Thanksgiving.

The latest number from ShadowStats, who does the old calculations (well two of them, the pre-'80 and pre-'92 way) puts the pre-80 CPI at 14.3% YoY.

Yup... I keep pointing out to people who they changed HOW they measure 'inflation'... and the CPI, because CPI is tied by law to how much Soc Sec and such go up.

So, CPI low, inflation actually CAN cause more tax revenue as money is worth less... so Government can try to inflate its way to debt mitigation.

I'll probably be going to costco next week, I'll see what they're hallucinating for a prime rib this year. I've spend up to $120ish for a big 5 bone prime prime. Be willing to bet it's getting closer to 200 for same.

Since it's just me, I've never had to worry about what I get at the grocery store. Until now. I've never said "holy shit!" at the meat market - not even as a broke student during Carter. I can say the typical rise in price is about 30% for what used to be pretty standard cuts. My local market deli occasionally does a tasty bake and serve chicken cordon bleu, 4 in a pack. They'd go for $11-13ish for 4 of them depending on size. I just looked on Tuesday, $18-19 for same. Fuck that.

I spent less than last year when I didn't get my turkey until Tues. or maybe even Wed before thanksgiving and ended up with a monster weight bird at a higher price. But FJB anyway. As I got older, and had the money to buy myself the things that I wanted, it became more of giving gifts, to try to make someone else happy.
The enduring things I remember are midnight service on Christmas Eve, the times decorating the tree. The remembering ...now.
Christ and God's love for man are the center of the holiday, just like Easter.
I do now get tired of the banality of shopping and the who idea of gift giving. The happiest time of last Christmas (besides Christmas Eve with my wife), was having my kids over, and playing with my grandson in the snow.

Same here, a Prime Rib every Christmas Eve and then eat pizza on Christmas Day. I think that it will be cheaper to take us to the Double Tree Hotel's Christmas banquet. We did it one year and it was really nice. Cost about $200 which is much cheaper than what I used to do.

We have Thanksgiving giving with the daughter's family every year and I make ours a day or so later. This year SiL, didn't keep the turkey drippings because he used a Trager grill and his gravy tasted like liquid flour. Fortunately, I make a turkey dinner for my birfday and freeze the extra drippings. So I drove home, returned with the frozen grease and saved the gravy to exaltations of the assemble guests.

My UPS driver made a delivery today and he was telling me about how one of his stops bought every employee a turkey this year. Problem is, they ended up with a half-pallet of turkeys left over. The guy was just giving them away to avoid tossing them, and the local homeless shelter wouldn't take them this year because of China Lung Rot policies.

You need stew beef and a very small pork roast. Cube the roast and brown that and the beef in a stock pot. Drain 3/4 of the fat and add diced potato, chopped celery, and chopped cabbage along with beef stock. Simmer until veg is tender add package of frozen mixed veg (carrot, green bean, peas, corn). Simmer until your cornbread comes out of the oven and FEAST!
