Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Friday ONT: I'm Baaack!Hi everybody! Glad to be back onboard for the usual Friday night ONT meme madness! Little's team made the playoffs (1 win got them in, which is a bar low enough that even the Ravens might cross it) and the game was yesterday at 5. In Houston. Which is a 4 hour trip (including the requisite stop at Buc-ees). Each way. So my day yesterday was shot, and I'd like to personally thank Maet for graciously stepping up to the plate and covering the ONT. I noticed some of y'all posted links to the Downfall parody I made, but this was a one off, I won't be making “Hitler finds out Maetenloch has returned to the ONT”. Sorry. Another zinger from the 5th Circuit. The Court is going on about how this mandate is ridiculously overbroad, yet under-inclusive at the same time. They write: The underinclusive nature of the Mandate implies that the Mandate's true purpose is not to enhance workplace safety, but instead to ramp up vaccine uptake by any means necessary. The Mandate is also underinclusive in the solutions it proposes. Indeed, even in its fullest force, the Mandate cannot prevent vaccinated employees from spreading the virus in the workplace, or prevent unvaccinated employees from spreading the virus in between weekly tests. Whoever wrote this morning that legally you get one chance/one shot to kill a home invader and not those behind him needs to be set straight. No , NOO, and NOOOO!
!So keep shooting until your ammo runs out. Your right to self-defense in your home doesn't end with one shot at one perp. If you have a firearm, the first guy up the stairs get a shot to his chest. Ditto the next. If you have a Byrna and not a real firearm, the closer they get, the more you aim at their faces and necks. Lethality matters. End part 1. * : if you ever get wind that marauders are prowling through your neighborhood, planning to invade your home:
* put lengths of aluminum, plastic or wood cut to the right length in place to prevent the doors from being opened. That will at least slow down their entry. Part 2: *if you can anticipate maraders coming, fire up on your stove a quart or more of a any kind of cooking oil you have available. * anyone breaks in, give a two-second warning, then splash the invaders with that hot oil. They even get a dig in at Brandon for being against a vaccine mandate before he was for it! And the judge gets this in: And of course, this all assumes that COVID-19 poses any significant danger to workers to begin with; for the more than seventy-eight percent of Americans aged 12 and older either fully or partially inoculated against it, the virus poses -- the Administration assures us -- little risk at all. Moe, Larry, & Curly?
Posted by: Count de Monet, Unvaccinated Kulak-American at November 12, 2021 11:47 PM (4I/2K) I have seen Moe, Larry, and curly. I'll never forgot this one job we got called into. Beautiful old 3 story house with a corner tower. The electricians that worked in this place should have been shot on sight. They destroyed this house. They cut right through hard wood floors as if they were trying to rescue somebody. Big square haphazard cuts like they jammed a circular saw into it any old way and finished off with an axe. They blew gigantic holes in the wall to put new outlets and switches in, so you had holes that looked like a crane ball went through, and they had the balls to hook up the outlets with the covers, not attached to anything, and just swinging free in the huge holes. It literally looked like the 3 fucking stooges did it. It took 6 weeks to undo the damage. Posted by: Berserker-Dragonheads Division at November 13, 2021 12:02 AM (VwHCD) 365

Pizza Port (original location, only one I've been to) is fine, both as to pizza and beer (lots of guest collaboration brews at that location, which is nice). And it's now again the time of year one can hope to get a seat there, outside (best choice), though not this weekend (80s/90s, perfect beautiful dry Santa Ana condition - this place is 400 yards from the surf).
Mentioned not long ago here that Poseidon Project, which is next door to Harland Brewing's Bay Park location (by I-5/Mission Bay), has excellent neapolitan-style pizza. Perfectly done. keena, I think, noted it. And while I have yet to not like any craft beer of the dozens (hundreds?) I've tried locally, Harland is really outstanding, across their portfolio. It's true Europeans have no idea of the sheer size of the US. I've known English and French tourists who plan the most unrealistic itineraries for the time frames they're working with. They seem to think you can pop over to Graceland, say, from Washington DC and back again like it's a day trip.
Posted by: JuJuBee at November 12, 2021 11:43 PM (mNhhD) Americans do the same thing. So many guided "European Tours" that start in London and end up in Rome or Athens. You spend most of the time on a bus and also a boat. There is nothing particularly wrong with this as a trial run, but the reality does set in at some point. Dots on a map are one thing, but when you have to do the travel, it is another thing. My criticism of Euros is the places they want to visit. Sure it is a generalization, but it seems Vegas and Orlando are the top two. If you ever want to not get a clue about real America, those would be the two places I would choose. Absent the OSHA mandate, inquiries regarding your "vaccination" status are surely hippa violations and even if they aren't, side effects of the "vaccine" become the responsibility of the company making such a mandate. 412 Bit of excitement here at Dark Acre. PG comes back in with her face wet and dripping what looks like oil and vinegar dressing, and it smells kinda peppery. Maybe a skunk? I cleaned her off - her face and front were quite wet - she didn't put up a fight, then ate a bit, and now she's cleaning herself (and her eyes look fine). No idea what it was, but the smell was quite pungent. Skunk was not my first thought, though it's not far off. It really smelled like a very pungent salad dressing. Quite distressing at first and I'll keep an eye on her (plus she's staying in tonight).

By the way, I got into a fight with a Karen at Aldi's today after she complained that I did not give her enough space and I didn't have a mask. I explained that I had had Covid and therefore, being immune, could not infect her. She certainly did not understand what I was saying and continued her harping. She then turned to speak with the manager, who had her own mask around her chin, rather than on her nose and mouth. This, apparently, was acceptable masking as nothing was said about it. Being a full fledged member of the Horde, I could not leave well enough alone and as she turned to leave the store, I explained what the word "hypocrite" meant. Loudly. To everyone in line. You could hear her all the way out the door.

Ajax has a strong sense of order. I must be in his sight. If I am sitting and have not moved for a bit, he might go lie down in the bedroom. However, if I move, he will know and come check on me.
When I go to bed, he will move from wherever he is or crate and lay on his pillow between me and the door, facing the door. When I have had to go out of town and leave him with someone else. He evidently will keep his eyes glued to the door at all times when he is not actively eating or drinking. Posted by: Aetius451AD at November 13, 2021 01:45 AM (csEWM) 483
