Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | National School Board Association Changed Language In Its "Domestic Terrorism" Letter At White House's Suggestion, FOIA'd Emails RevealHave our Precious Norms now been restored, NeverTrump? A FOIA'd memo reveals that the NSBA was also "actively engaged," pre-letter, with... the DOJ. Merrick Garland's DOJ. Merrick Garland who claimed that he did not base his decision to use the force of the federal government to squash the first amendment rights of concerned parents on the specific language of the letter. The letter written by the NSBA as it was "actively engaging" with his DOJ. "Concern over the current climate for school board members is also a top priority as disruptions at school board meetings grow and members face growing threats," Garcia wrote at the time, according to the memo obtained by Parents Defending Education through a Freedom of Information Act request. "NSBA has been actively engaged with the White House, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, Surgeon General, and other federal agencies on pandemic related issues."Do you stand by your fulsome recommendation of Merrick Garland as a man of impeccable character and unmatched integrity, Eternal Champion of the Deep State Andy McCarthy? Specifically, the White House wanted the letter juiced with claims of "specific threats" they could use to justify the unprecedented use of federal law enforcement to intimidate the political opponents of their political allies, teachers and the teachers unions. And thus, a man upset by the Loudoun School Board denying that his daughter had been forcibly sodomized by a "boy in a skirt" was transformed into a violent potential "domestic terrorist" who might need to be dealt with under "the PATRIOT Act." Another email exclusively sent to Fox News revealed that NSBA had discussed the issues with the White House "for weeks" before sending the letter. Garcia and Chip Slaven, an NSBA executive, altered the text of the letter to satisfy the curiosity of White House staff. "In talks over the last several weeks with White House staff, they requested additional information on some of the specific threats, so the letter also details many of the incidents that have been occurring," Slaven wrote in a September 29, 2021, email to the NSBA board of directors. But the tweets are still nice. ++++ Hmm. So someone outside the formal government directs information to someone inside the formal government for the purposes of creating a justification for the government to target an opponent. The contacts inside the formal government need a different level of specificity or adjustment to the information, so they communicate back to the actors outside the formal government to rework the content. The external actors then resubmit a new version or addendum to the internal actors, thus creating a synthetic basis for actions. Besides being tyrannical, it seems like I've heard this story before. When was that? OH YEAH! Spygate. It's essentially the same play, just a lot less convoluted. But now, just like the O'Keefe raid and destruction of confidentiality, it's moving down-market. Instead of targeting the president, now they're targeting normal citizens with the same false construction schemes. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at November 12, 2021 01:43 PM (DU+/6) 38

Rittenhouse. The prosecution just got the judge to allow the drone video, introduced on Thursday (the one manipulated for 20 hours by some guy), as a basis to instruct the jury that it can consider whether or not Rittenhouse provocated Rosenbaum by pointing his gun at him. This moment occurred between Rittenhouse placing a fire extinguisher on the ground and when Rosenbaum attacked Rittenhouse. The video used to support this, being wildly generous, is inconclusive at best. This ruling changes everything as it undermines Rittenhouse's claim to self defense in all shootings and bolsters that his attackers acted in self defense of self or the public. This video is complete fiction for forensic purposes. The defense royally screwed up by not calling an actual expert in digital imagery to rebut some guy who can say bi-cubic at a cocktail party. Not one person in this trial knows what they are talking about with respect to one of the most important pieces of "evidence" in the trial. Rittenhouse is in deep peril because of this ruling. Next up is two hours of the prosecution howling at closing that Kyle is a mass murder with this phony video as absolute proof.

>>The letter written by the NSBA that was "actively engaged" with his DOJ.
This is the same kind of op other federal agencies have been engaging in with activist organization - the sue then settle game. For example, eco-activists work with friendlies at EPA to sue them for not upholding some environmental protection, the EPA then settles rather than going to court, and as a result they are "forced" to implement what the activists (and EPA insiders) wanted as part of the settlement. Here they work with the DoJ to craft a demand that the DoJ protect them, and then the DoJ pretends to be compelled to do it in response. Posted by: Lizzy at November 12, 2021 01:46 PM (bDqIh) 54

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with." Posted by: Zombie Ayn Rand! at November 12, 2021 01:48 PM (I2/tG) 65

I've said this before but I'm digging this inflation. My cost to buy "stuff" is more than made up by the increase in the value of my assets. Since Biden took over stocks are up around 20%, real estate (for me as this is all local) is up at least 20% as well, maybe more. I own a lot of stocks and real estate. So yeah I'll happily pay 40 cents more for gas and $2 for a hamburger, if my assets grow 20%. Posted by: Joe XiDen ** Except your assets aren't really growing if they increase by 20% while everything else also increases by 20% (or, more realistically, 30%). 39 Rittenhouse. This ruling changes everything as it undermines Rittenhouse's claim to self defense in all shootings and bolsters that his attackers acted in self defense of self or the public.
..... Posted by: LostInSpace at November 12, 2021 01:44 PM (ESLBo) I don't see how the ruling itself proves that this wasn't self-defense by Rittenhouse, especially when the jury has also seen video of him running the fck away and Rosenbaum et al chasing him down. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at November 12, 2021 02:03 PM (DU+/6) ---------------------- This is the kind of thing that made me delete all my social media a few years ago. Went on a vacation to Nashville, came home and started getting FB messages from some furniture store there. Figured out they were by the bus stop we used each day, and their wifi must have captured us. Week later, on the phone with the same person I was in Nashville with. She made a joke about a surgical procedure I'd never heard of. Hung up phone, got online, and first five ads I saw were for that procedure. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at November 12, 2021 02:29 PM Yep, I remember Obama during his first term, I think, being asked about gas prices and he said he was only disappointed that they rose so quickly, not that they rose. He said that energy prices would have to necessarily rise. - https://bit.ly/3n9LzLB On June 19, 2008, then-Senator Obama said he "would have preferred a gradual adjustment" of gas prices. When plugging his cap-and-trade energy plan in 2008, which was rejected by Congress a year later, President Obama himself stated that electricity rates would "necessarily skyrocket," which would "cost money" - costs that understandably would be passed on to consumers. Posted by: Pennsyltucky at November 12, 2021 02:30 PM (lNHqD) I remember a Moron recently providing a link to a gov't site that compared energy outputs for different fuel types. I found that very, very interesting. To get a regular combustion-engine car 300 miles of range, you put about 14 gallons of gasoline in, which weighs around 100 lbs., I guess. That same range requires about a half-ton of LiON batteries in a similar-sized car. This, from my ignorant perspective, is huge. If you can't get battery tech to approach the power density contained in hydrocarbon fuel, I don't understand how this can become popular enough to get the average person to replace their car - not to mention the spontaneous combustion that can take place with the LiON batteries. That's also including the infrastructure issues that have been brought up before. Posted by: Darrell Harris at November 12, 2021 02:42 PM (+IbPv) 390

It's very simple - you make every motor vehicle electric, and make every building all-electric, which roughly doubles the demand for electricity. At the same time, you close all the fossil fuel and nuclear plants, and replace them all with unreliable renewable resources, with maybe a couple of hours of incredibly expensive battery backup. We use wartime analogies in talking about this, because you'll need a very big army to deal with the inevitable rebellions, as you plunge all but a small elite group of people in the United States into grinding poverty. That is easier to do on civil juries because you only need a plurality. On criminal with unknown actual pool of jurors, it gets a lot harder because all it takes is one juror to get a mistrial for defense. Jury consultants make the big bux on civil cases--criminal cases are tougher. Know a few local firms and they make their bread and butter from civil lawsuits. At the same time, you close all the fossil fuel and nuclear plants, and replace them all with unreliable renewable resources, with maybe a couple of hours of incredibly expensive battery backup. Posted by: steevy No, jury consultants take a local poll of residents, not specifically the jury pool as that would not be permitted. Not sure whether the poll screened for ability to even participate on the jury--no felonies, Wisconsin citizen, etc. The problem with local surveys is believe it or not, it is actually more difficult to get a representative sample than in a national survey. Very costly due to non-response bias. Given the riots in Kenosha, would you answer a phone poll by an unknown group as to whether Kyle was innocent or guilty? This, from my ignorant perspective, is huge. If you can't get battery tech to approach the power density contained in hydrocarbon fuel, I don't understand how this can become popular enough to get the average person to replace their car - not to mention the spontaneous combustion that can take place with the LiON batteries. Jury... polling? Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at November 12, 2021 02:55 PM Didn't know we had jury polling. Is that like that movie where they do a live trial on TV and people vote if they are guilty or not? Posted by: Mister Scot (Formerly GWS) at November 12, 2021 02:58 PM (bVYXr) 461
Both America and Japan have announced they will open their own microchip operations, but it is too little to late. China if smart will swoop in before their enemies can build the plants.
Posted by: LizLem 40 years ago, the US led the WORLD in chip production of all sorts. We licensed off all the technology to the Japanese first, to "recover" those investments. Turned out to be pretty short sighted, after all. Intel, to be sure, still makes their big processor parts in the US. But all the other parts are made elsewhere (primarily Taiwan and S. Korea). Even Japan farmed out a lot of that, because it was labor intensive and expensive to make. We could recover a lot of that capacity, but I doubt it happens. Motorola and TI used to make TONS of that stuff. Posted by: Bozo Conservative...Living on the Prison Planet at November 12, 2021 02:58 PM (vcOmj) 462
What the heck is an archduke anyway? Like, a super duke? Isn't that a king?
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at November 12, 2021 02:15 PM (KZzsI) Crown prince of the Emperor and other family members not directly in the line of succession, but still better than garden variety Dukes. Posted by: Oldcat at November 12, 2021 03:10 PM (eoQWY) 463
Merrick Garland should be hung. Same with whoever at the Whitehouse that was running this op.

The first time I was ever prescribed prednisone it made me hyper. I stayed up all night; first I alphabetized the spice cabinet jars, then moved on to all the remaining canned goods.
