The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

This isn't about Biden, because he's a senile old fool and probably forgot what he had just been told by his handlers.

And this isn't about the vomit-inducing obsequiousness of the servant class desperately trying to curry favor with the elites of D.C. and other leftist big cities. God forbid they would actually enforce their own rules equally!

No...this is about our vile fourth estate and their disgusting willingness to violate every honorable tenet of their "profession" by protecting their favored politicians. I would say whoring for them, but whores understand economics!

Biden caught maskless inside upscale DC restaurant in violation of indoor mask mandate

Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants, which owns the upscale Italian coastal cuisine restaurant in Georgetown as well as numerous other restaurants, states on their own website that masks are required to be worn at all times within the establishment when not eating or drinking.

When greeted by reporters and the public outside, Biden was met with cheers and a sole question of "How was dinner, Mr. President?"

No reporters questioned his lack of masking.

What happened to "Afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted?"

Imagine a different president in the same situation. The vicious barking seals of the media would have screamed spittle-flecked, aggressive accusations as President Trump walked into the restaurant and would have hammered him for weeks, putting the video on never-ending loops during every CCP Flu report of the grim milestones of death, with lurid insinuations that President Trump was personally responsible for those deaths because of his reckless behavior.

But these feckless fvcks gave the demented pervert their customary tongue bath, and waited for the next day's briefing with hosta-Act-violating Jen Psaki before they asked a tepid question, knowing that Biden's mouthpiece would have a trite answer prepared.

They are partisan scum, without integrity, without honor, without honesty, and worst of all they suck at their jobs. And the American people know it, according to polling.

Imagine an entire industry with clearly defined objectives and methods, filled with workers who cheerfully ignore those goals and instead inject their personal biases and animosities into their work. Then add financial incentives (that's a pretty phrase for corruption) to be even worse at their jobs, and you will have a vague picture of the American media. It's actually worse, because the overall financial success of most players in the industry is limited by the absolutely awful job their workers are doing.

As alternative media expands (Hi Ace!), the traditional media companies will pursue a smaller slice of the information pie and put more of their content behind paywalls. Eventually the legacy media will be almost entirely opaque to most Americans, and it's hard to see a downside to that.

It is why I have said - and I stand behind my assertion - that the American press is worse than Pravda or Izvestia. Why? There is one simple reason for it. Somewhere, at some level, doing some job, there was a man there who was there under threat of death or gulag. There was at least one person in those organizations who was there because he was a competent layout editor or press operator or photographer, and was ordered to work there, and if he refused then he'd be thrown into a camp or murdered.

That person who was there by compulsion make those organizations better than our press. In our press, there are no slaves. Each and every person is there by choice. They choose to be evil, to every last person.

You can ask questions like that until the end of time. Crypto-Marxists have never been honest. Everything they have said over time has to be viewed as modified by "if it helps us gain power".

"If it saves one life"? Not for Michael Byrd.

Marxism doesn't work. Plenty of attempts at it have proven that it doesn't work. So, Critical Theory has taken its place. Critical Theory is based on Foucault, who argued that all language use is an attempt to create a power gradient. And there is no outlet for this, just me informing you Critical Theory is based on the writing of Foucault is an attempt to "structure power".

They have adopted the most pessimistic form of that activity that humans do which holds the best hope for harmony. They have no hope but that the power is re-allocated to them.

128 I think we're being a little too hard on ourselves and the other normies. Back when this Covid mess started nobody knew just what we were dealing with, and it took a while for its comparability to other serious but relatively mild pandemics ('56, '68, for example) to become known.

The pushback has only grown since, though, especially when coupled with the bald-faced lies about the situation, lies that have become ever more evident.

Some folks just don't wannna know or just can't believe it, but their ranks continue to thin. Some folks are in on the game full bore, and they are self-identifying.

176 Look how quickly and without any reservation, people accepted... ACCEPTED... to be put under de facto house arrest, shut down their businesses, many aware they would lose them, with little or more correctly, zero pushback. That alone is alarming. Then, allowing this to continue for going on two fucking years. Meanwhile, they are witnessing civilization collapsing around them and way, way too many are ok with it.

And the acceptance is still going on with regards to "COVID testing". People are accepting it as the lesser of two evils vs "vaccine" mandates.

But imagine if 18 months ago, companies just started implementing policies that required employees to get drug tested every two weeks. Or required "health" check-ups every two weeks. Or required employees to have their temperature taken and fill out a "health check" protocol form on their cell phone app before even being allowed to enter the building.

This is all happening. Sure, people are starting to push back against the BS "vaccine" mandates, but they've already accepted everything else. All for a virus/disease with a 99.74% avg recovery rate across all age groups.

201 It all started the last week in September when McAuliffe, who is seeking his second (non-consecutive) term in office, said the quiet part out loud to Republican nominee Glenn Youngkin during their last debate about how "I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."

For McAuliffe, a former Clintonista, it hasn't gotten any better since then. With Youngkin capitalizing on the moment and along with a surprisingly aggressive local media presence keeping the pressure on McAuliffe to explain/clarify his remarks on public education, the race has tightened significantly with just two weeks left to go before Election Day - and McAuliffe is sending out all kinds of signals, including bringing in his fellow election truther Stacey Abrams to stump on his behalf, indicating that he knows he's in trouble.

The latest signal from McAuliffe came just yesterday when he released an ad laughably proclaiming that Youngkin took him "out of context" on what he said during that now-infamous debate about parents not having a say in their child's education.

240 I am not an anarchist, but I like to listen to Michael Malice, because he once said something that I instantly knew was the truth.

For years, I have heard Republicans/Conservatives complain that "The media is the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party," and I intuitively knew that wasn't actually true. It's really not the relationship I've seen.

Then, I saw Malice on David Ruben's show, and Malice disabused Ruben of that very notion when he said, "I love my Republican friends, but it drives me crazy when they say that. They have it backwards. The media beat the drum, and the Democrats march to it."

I'm paraphrasing him, but he said to look at the reality - the media are far more radical than most Democrat politicians, who often run on being "moderates". And if you listen to them, they sound moderate, but then the media hounds them and threatens to make them look bad, forcing them further to the Left in their policies and legislation.

That analysis seems to be much closer to the actual reality.

It's always amusing to see people who never planned ahead get caught by events that should have been predictable. Their real problem with coal is that they shut down all the mines that produced it, and you don't just snap your fingers and start up a mining operation in a couple weeks. They have some old stockpiles, and a few open pit mines left. But in 2000 the UK had 32 working deep coal mines that produced high grade coal. Today they have Zero.

340 The downside to the media retracting itself into gated communities (so to speak) is that too many people are too lazy, too busy or too apathetic to try and find other objective sources so they wind up knowing less than they do now. I have a friend like this. She works 10 hour days on her feet (and she has arthritis) so when she gets home all she wants to do is veg out on the sofa and be entertained or pretend being informed. She has no reason to really doubt everything the media says (she knows a lot is bs but can't take th e time to find out what is and what isn't) so she's quite surprised when I tell her things about the current covid nonsense.

Not low information but lack of information and lack of want. And who really wants to know the ugly truth? It takes a certain masochistic personality to desire to do that day after day with little hope to fix it.

Another point about the difference between American and Soviet propaganda organs: efficiency and clarity.

If you read old Soviet media, journal pubs, etc., there is always a curious hesitance about everything. It's very mushy. The Party line could change on a dime, and if you weren't up to speed, you were in hot soup. There were times when reporters in the USSR had to make groveling corrections for their wrongthink or face severe penalties. So the safe bet was to say as little of substance as possible until you were *positive* that something was "true."

The US news media has Simple Jack's Chatterbox. They get up to the minute briefing on the lies they're supposed to be telling, and instant guidance on messaging when the lie suddenly needs to change, and how to massage that for the public. We don't have these little hiccups here. 100% conformity, every day.

374 Trump's statement re Colin Powel's death.

"Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media. Hope that happens to me someday. He was a classic RINA, if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans. He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!"

I don't see a big problem with this. Why must we pretend to worship these people upon their deaths? He didn't tell the guy to burn in hell.

380 I don't recall many hiccups in Soviet media, and I was neck-deep in it to varying degrees over many years, including while spending extended time in the country.

The relentless focus on the institutions (which are, in fact, generally now garbage) misses the important change in the US, that in the populace. A typical "educated" urban/coastal "liberal" here is now as credulous, misinformed, and most importantly, submissive and sheep-like as your most pathetic Soviet citizen in the 1970s.
