Disney's The Last Duel, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, bombed big time at the box office on its opening weekend, grossing a paltry $4.8 million in wide release. The medieval epic incorporated woke gender politics by embracing the #MeToo movement and hiring a female screenwriter to add an anachronistic feminist perspective to the Affleck-Damon-penned screenplay.

I put this in the last post, incase you missed it.

They couldn't have picked a worse Spike. When they first hired him they're announcement was basically "haha we're sticking it to white people, because they made the Cyborg in Ghost in the Shell a white woman!" (Despite the fact she was in the manga) But A) They could have chosen any number if Asian guys who fit the cool, funny and suave Spike, instead they chose everything Spike isn't. B) apparently to them Koreans and Japanese are the same, so everyone involved in the show should be cancelled.

Also they seem to completely miss how Spike and Jet don't really work with Faye, but clearly these idiots made them all partners from the get go.

This would have been the chance to make a really good prequel, instead it'll just be catchphrases and fan service for idiots.

I am not even sure it is 'fan service' when the people who are getting 'serviced' were not fans of the original property and are unlikely to pay for this no matter what they do.

It is the same formula with pretty much everything Star Wars. We do not think there is an opportunity for growth with the current fan base, so we are going to burn that fan base down in an attempt to woo other people, who do not like star wars and who subsequently once the furor died down, still did not watch Star Wars.

I was probably wrong. I bet not having the vaccine is over 95% effective, because you need to remove the hospitalizations for heart inflammation and other side effect.

It's been very pleasant here in the Bluegrass since last Friday and we've been spending a lot of time outside preparing the compound for winter. Today I went down to Rural King to get a new chain for my Stihl chainsaw. I'm looking at dozens of boxes with chains and have no idea how to correlate my model with the numbers on the boxes. A very nice store employee who could very well have been Amish or a Mennonite by the looks of him picked the correct one after I showed him a photo on my phone of my saw. We chatted for a bit. It was normal. No masks. No talk about COVID. Just small talk about trees, chain saws and nice weather.

I'm not that surprised by the chants at the football stadiums. My kids are raising kids in a suburb in California, and--literally--no one has paid the slightest attention to covid, since the beginning.

While Ronald Reagan was never pregnant, he was legally blind without either his glasses or wearing contact lenses.
He had really bad eyesight. Which is why he was never deployed in WWII (which made him really sore), while he had been in the Reserves in the 1930's. He was blind as a bat, without his glasses.

403 Fun story:

I was in a deposition for a car injury case, where a pretty young woman hit a child, who'd been sent to the hospital.
One of the questions you are asking in an injury case is: Do you wear glasses?

The woman said Yes, and then pulled them out to demonstrate. It turned out she was legally blind, but the glasses had a telescope (I am not making this up) that allowed her to see about a one inch circle, if she scanned back and forth.

There were three attorneys present, and we all nodded without looking at each other. Then we called a break, and settled the case for max policy limits.
