“Fuck Twitter. Fuck NBC News, ABC News, all these stupid ass networks. I’m not talking to them. I’m talking to you. This is real life.” Dave Chappelle

Quote II

“Their initiatives are hurting the very people whom they purport to be helping,” Republican Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison

Quote III

Quote IV

"It makes me feel unwanted by the school system. It makes me stressed out that I have to fight this battle as a 16-year-old. Right now, I should be playing sports and having fun. And instead, I’m fighting for the rights that were supposed to be won hundreds of years ago." Grace Smith, a Laramie High School student

The f*cking stupid continues to thrive.

Justin Sullivan/Getty Images
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) signed a new law Saturday mandating that many large retail stores offer some toys in gender-neutral sections, a move advocates encourages children to consider toys without taking into account gender stereotypes.

“This bill would require a retail department store that is physically located in California that has a total of 500 or more employees across all California retail department store locations that sells childcare items or toys to maintain a gender neutral section or area, to be labeled at the discretion of the retailer, in which a reasonable selection of the items and toys for children that it sells shall be displayed, regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys,” reads the law.

You wanted this shit California. I feel for you Morons there.

Enjoy It While You Can: Dropping Oxygen Will Eventually Suffocate Most Life on Earth

For now, life is flourishing on our oxygen-rich planet, but Earth wasn't always that way – and scientists have predicted that, in the future, the atmosphere will revert back to one that's rich in methane and low in oxygen.

What utter Bull Shit.

Hopefully he get's his counseling behind bars.

GoFundMe has removed the fundraising page of the Texas student who opened fire at Arlington high school and wounded four students after his family set it up requesting $25,000 to treat his alleged “trauma” over his father’s death.

Two of the shooting victims are still in the hospital while 18-year-old Timothy Simpkins was allowed to walk free on bond.

The GoFundMe page was launched Thursday by Dallas attorney Kim T. Cole, who asked the public to donate money to help Simpkins, according to the Daily Mail

Judge rules against natural immunity claim challenging COVID-19 shot mandate

A federal judge denied a request to block an employer’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on the basis of natural immunity on Friday.

Jeanna Norris, who works at Michigan State University, challenged the school’s vaccine requirement on the basis that she had COVID-19 and recovered. After having two antibody tests showing her immunity, her doctor instructed her not to get the vaccine at this time.

Yet, she faces termination for not complying with Michigan State University’s requirement that all staff and students get vaccinated by Aug. 31 unless they have a religious or medical exemption.

Ahh, the good old Taliban. When they aren't pushing opiates they are running rehab centers.

Harrowing images show drug users in Afghanistan being rounded up and put in chains in the latest sign the Taliban are grossly violating human rights.

The men – many of them homeless and addicted to heroin and meth – were beaten and forcibly taken to treatment centres in Kabul.

There, they were forced to sit against a stone wall with their hands tied, before being stripped of their clothes and having their heads shaved.

Many of them looked bleary eyed and skeletal as they were ushered into a prison-like camp where they were told to sober up or face a beating.

OK, I dabble with paints, brushes and canvas. I won't get rich at it, as my last name isn't Biden.

President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, sold at least five prints of his artwork for $75,000 each, according to a report from the New York Post.

The pieces of art were reportedly sold by the Georges Berges Gallery before a "pop up" presentation in Los Angeles on Oct. 1.

"It's unclear who purchased the reproductions — which cost a fraction of the top price of $500,000 for an original piece by President Biden's scandal-scarred son — or if any more were sold after the LA show opened," the New York Post reported.

"But most of those allowed to buy works are long-term, private collectors with the gallery," a source familiar with the sale told the outlet.

Prints? Not even the original? Nothing fishy here, move along little peasants and starving artists.

It would have been easy to accept a forfeit. No, and that leads us to Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Lily Roberts is a pitcher for the Adairsville JV Softball Team. The team they were playing against a couple of weeks ago was about to lose when their pitcher got sick.

"They were struggling and I knew if I didn't step up, the game would have to end and they would have to forfeit. So I just thought, I would love to step up," Roberts told 11 Alive.

So that's exactly what she did. Roberts stepped right up to the mound and pitched for the opposing team.

And she wasn't lobbing easy balls over the plate against her teammates, she was firing them across home plate for strikes.

"She would smile at them and throw them a strike," Coach Kelly Abernathy said. "She was pitching like she was pitching in a championship game."

She got in trouble for not wearing a mask.

The damn school went into lockdown like there was a school shooter.

If this doesn't end now it will never end. Sadly I don't know the answer other than to laugh at them and make fun of them at every opportunity. Get a real respirator, hollow out the cannisters, pull the flaps inside so you can breath unrestricted, and point out how YOU'RE the only one taking this virus seriously. Then take it off repeatedly to sip coffee or water.

Bonus points for wrapping t-shirt material over the cannisters and securing it with rubber bands. If anyone complains, point out that it's mask material and you're just complying with the mandates.

Force their absurdity on them. Laugh at them.

It's going to be an absolute sh*tshow, too. I've got a battery powered Craftsman weedeater, blower, and chainsaw that I got on clearance. Essentially bought all three for the price of one, with three batteries. V60, nice stuff. The blower is fantastic, and batter powered is the way to go for it. The others are fine if you don't need to do much. Maybe five hundred feet of weedeating and trimming some bushes here and there. Problem being the tools and batteries are not even two years old and one battery is already completely dead, and the other two batteries have about half the life they started with. So the blower is pretty much the only viable tool left that we can get any use out of.
-
The best part? I contacted Craftsman about warranty replacement batteries (5 year warranty) and they said sorry, we don't have any. The end. No options, no help, no let me see if I can get you in touch with a store that carries them and we'll pick up the bill. Just No, we can't help.
-
I can't wait to watch California. Important people will still be allowed to use them, of course, but folks like us won't. It will be hilarious.

I can't imagine there are battery powered equivalents to a Dixie Chopper that can make it much longer than an hour or two, and they probably need dedicated high speed chargers similar to car chargers to get back up and running.

Eleven months later, House Minority Whip, Representative Steve Scalise, repeatedly refused to say 2x on Sunday that the 2020 election wasn't stolen, standing by Donald Trump´s assertion that Democrat Joe Biden won the White House because of mass voter fraud. 'I've been very clear from the beginning," he said. "If you look at a number of states, they didn't follow their state-passed laws that govern the election for president.' Scalise appeared to be referring to the legal argument, made in several lawsuits backed by Trump before and after last November's election, that the Constitution gives the power of election administration exclusively to state lawmakers.

Bereson's substack was trending on Twitter. Twitter couldn't have that, so they erased it.

He got some emails from verified SW employees about what was going on. Also, got one from an American Airlines pilot who said they were going to start something similar.

The union can't officially acknowledge what's going on, because it would construed as "illegal work action" or some shit. So they all have to do this very secretly and not talk about it.

319 Southwest has virtually no slack in their schedule. If there is a problem in one place (like thunderstorms in the summer), it ripples through the system. I guess another way of putting it is that the Southwest system is very fragile, and some unpredicted disturbances can compound on each other to create a major systemwide failure that can only be solved by taking flights out to create slack that will enable them to play catchup. Yes, it may be some individual actions that may be loosely coordinated, but the only reason it works is because Southwest is running with such a fragile system in the first place.

331 Southwest has virtually no slack in their schedule.

Because they (and their political masters) are freaking terrified.

A substantial fraction of the people refusing to get vaxxed are the people who make the infrastructure work. You have a mass spontaneous action by all the people who Biden wants to fire, and a lot of the economy shuts down.

New scam pattern. High dollar item is purchased from a scam outfit. Scammer buys some low dollar item and ships it to an address nearby, but not the buyer's address. They get a valid tracking number that way.

At some point, customer files a complaint with Amazon or PayPal. At this point, an automated system takes over. Online dispute from buyer. Query goes to seller. Scam seller uploads the tracking number. Tracking number is valid and shows deliver. Dispute resolved in scammers favor.

Customer calls and talks to a human, who sees the delivery address does not match customer address. Scammer is already long gone. Customer reimbursed. Amazon or PayPal eats it.

Mrs IMG was such a customer.

The Amish community in Lancaster, PA has achieved true natural herd immunity. They refused to lock down, wear masks, and continued life and work as useful. Also, didn't take the vaccines.

They wouldn't get tested when they were sick and didn't even go to the hospital when they were really sick. They didn't want to be isolated.

Did some of them die? Yep. But they stuck up their middle finger and now they are at real herd immunity.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.

That's quite likely, but from an operational standpoint, I think the Left needs Trump far more than we do. He's an instant adrenaline shot to the craziest sections of their base, the sections they're going to need most when things finally hit a flashpoint. It's their equivalent of beating a dog to make it meaner. But, they don't want him to go too far, so they have a cutoff switch ready.

The interesting thing about the Oregon Covid forecast from the local medical school (which has been quite accurate so far) is that it highlights how many people have a significant degree of protection from being infected, even if unvaxxed.

The estimate was that 69% of the Oregon population was neither vaxxed nor infected at the beginning of April and was therefore "susceptible". That number is now down to 23%.

This forecast is updated weekly - I wonder how long it will be permitted to continue, since it shows that Oregon does not need to get to 80% fully vaccinated to get to "herd immunity" - the pandemic is ebbing nicely with just 44% fully vaccinated. Not Politically Correct.

443 So was reading Rocket Men about the Apollo 8 mission and learned something about the CM pilot Bill Anders that is absolutely jaw dropping.

His father, Arthur Anders, was the XO for USS Panay when the Japanese decided to attack the American warship. When the Captain was wounded Anders assumed command and ordered the ship to fight back. Naturally the Sons of Heaven did not respond well to being challenged about their Imperial mandate.

The Captain down in sick bay wanted to abandon the ship. Anders said, "He's not in charge anymore, I am." and kept fighting. Even when a piece of shrapnel tore through his throat rendering him mute, he continued to give orders by writing them out in his own blood. When the ship sank Anders was the last off before losing consciousness. He was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions and that chart with his blood is at the National Museum of the US Navy in DC.

Bill Anders was all of four years of age when he witnessed the Japanese attacking from the air and his father winning the Navy Cross the hard way.

Of course, but the statistician putting together the Oregon Covid forecast is focusing on hospitalizations - having a bunch of asymptomatic or mild cases doesn't put any strain on the medical system, and the vaccines continue to be good at keeping people out of the hospital.

Expect a lot of hysteria over "cases" as the number of Covid hospitalizations crater.

It has the potential, at least, of turning the vaxxed into "super-spreaders", because, by suppressing the Covid symptoms, it can lead the vaxxed to believe they are disease-free, despite carrying a huge viral load. So they go out and about, and carry on with life, strewing virus the way the Flying Crowbar was supposed to strew A-bombs. The unvaxxed, on the other hand, if they get infected, they become sick, and they are more likely to stay home and try to get better, which limits their opportunity to pass the Coof on to others.

454 >> The problem is the clot shot doesn't stop transmission

See those blood donor studies, done both here and in the UK. Here, the study period ended in May 2021. After adjusting for demographics, that sample of a few million (but still blood donors, and not general population -- there could be bias and confounding of course), showed about 20% had N-antibodies, meaning natural infection.

Another 60% had S-only antibodies, meaning vaccinated only.

UK numbers were similar, but with an even higher proportion of S-only. This is convincing evidence that the jabs don't stop infection and transmission at all. We'd already be at the initial herd immunity estimates if they worked.

After this third delta wave, that natural immunity fraction has certainly increased over that 20%.

On the return trip, Lovell was down in the Equipment Bay shooting stars and entering the data via the DSKY when he accidentally told the Apollo computer to execute Program 01 which reset the nav systems to on the launch platform.

The CM went pitching and Anders had no idea what was going on. He finally got it stabilized without instruments by watching the dust in the cabin, when it stopped shifting in Zero G he knew the ship was stable.

It took Lowell and Houston to sort out all the pieces and get the system working. All because Lovell still could find the Moon and from there deduce which star was which.

490 314 I'm going to be controversial and opine that DLR was responsible for Van Halen's success, not Eddie (though being a legendary guitar player dint hurt).

When I hear VH on the radio now, I always listen very closely to Roth. It's so much fun to hear him make the songs work with timing, screams and little noises. He had the most limited range of any famous singer, and nothing extraordinary like the replacement AC\DC singer Brian Johnson's ability to shriek nonstop. And Eddie, well I am not a guitar player so maybe there's some technical skill that I don't appreciate properly but for me his style was based on three tricks that he rotated. His real weapon was the ability to write seriously good pop songs with enough bite to not scream pop song. The precursor to Kurt Cobain if you will.

Took me a bit longer; I had fever nonstop since Wednesday, but today it seems to have finally passed. Still a little snotty but not more than usual for this time of year.

Gee, guess we should have gotten the coof gene serum or some damned thing, since it proved to be so damned deadly, eh?

Actually, only the boy and DH had positive tests. Mine was negative, but I'm going again tomorrow to see if it was the coof or flu. I really couldn't say one way or the other without a test.

Moving anywhere is a pain. You simply resign yourself to a week or more of unmitigated misery and loss and then remind yourself that the end result is worth the hassle and hardship.

And make sure you know where you put the underwear.

614 I live about 15 miles from the school where the recent shooting occurred. The kid who did the shooting had been repeated beaten and robbed at school--at least once by the kid he shot. He and his mother had complained multiple times to the school and to law enforcement, who did nothing. His father had previously been beaten to death. Texas has a compulsory school attendance law.

So I ask you, since you hope he receives his counseling behind bars, what precisely he should have done? Continued to take beatings until he was finally beaten to death as his father had been?

For an 18 year-old to take a gun to school is a huge mistake in normal circumstances. This kid's circumstances were far from normal. It seems to me that he had plenty of reason to be in genuine fear for his life. He had tried all of the "normal" options and was still taking regular ass kickings. In this day, the kid he shot (who outweighed him by about 60 pounds) beat the shit out of him before he pulled his gun. It's unfortunate that bystanders were hit, but this looks to me like a clear case of self defense. I have serious doubts about whether a Texas jury will convict him of anything.

623 Early mornin', folk,

Up earlier than I intended. Yesterday started well, but in the afternoon I smoked some Prince Albert Match tobacco, a half bowl, and it got to me: a little sweating and shakes, a bit of queasiness. I've never had that in my time with the pipe, not in the '80s and not now. This is not *the* Prince Albert that used to come in a can, by all accounts a very mild tobacco. It's a "Match" for it from a reputable major company, purchased from a likewise reputable shop, and smoked in a pipe which just last week yielded a good smoke. Maybe I got a bad batch?

Ihe reaction as gone in an hour, but still it's put me off the pipe deal for a while. Probably all to the good.
