Shock, Surprise: One of the Proud Boys at the "Capitol Insurrection" Was a (You'll Never, Ever Guess!) FBI Informant

Well, this is interesting. According to a new report in the New York Times, one of the Proud Boys who marched on the Capitol on January 6 was an FBI informant who was texting real-time updates to his handler.
"In the informant’s version of events, the Proud Boys, famous for their street fights, were largely following a pro-Trump mob consumed by a herd mentality rather than carrying out any type of preplanned attack," the article reads, which is in line with what we've heard from the FBI. The Times reports further:
The use of informants always presents law enforcement officials with difficult judgments about the credibility and completeness of the information they provide. In this case, the records obtained by The Times do not directly address whether the informant was in a good position to know about plans developed for Jan. 6 by the leadership of the Proud Boys, why he was cooperating, whether he could have missed indications of a plot or whether he could have deliberately misled the government. But the records, and information from two people familiar with the matter, suggest that federal law enforcement had a far greater visibility into the assault on the Capitol, even as it was taking place, than was previously known.

This does not extend to the FBI. The agency is so terribly corrupt and incompetent that they make the LAPD look like avenging angels of pure, blind justice. They are the single worst police agency in the country, and there's no possible way they could have gotten so bad without a preponderance of scum in the ranks. The only time I've ever heard the phrase (not counting Hannity) is in reference to golfers who are sort of scraping by when they don't have their best stuff, or are not particularly highly skilled. It's never really a compliment, except to the extent that you survived, maybe even won, without doing anything exceptional.
So maybe that does describe most federal agents.

I believe it's an oldy timey phrase used in boxing and probably other endeavors. It means the guys who are not very good and who basically are only doing it to keep food on the table.
Hannity seems to use it in a non-traditional way, though. Originally it was a derisive term. Hannity uses it like one might say, "salt of the earth" from Jesus' Sermon on the mount.

Maybe. I was curious about McInnes so I checked out one of his more recent YT interviews--I think YT deleted his channel so he jumps around from channel to channel doing interviews. He disavowed the Proud Boys in 2018, I think. Anyway, the thing that came through in the interview was McInnes' sense of guilt over the hardship he's placed on his family as a result of his activism. He has a teenage daughter and she evidently catches shit unlimited at school for being the daughter of a supposedly dangerous extremist. I'm not sure about his personal beliefs but the regret was real.

There's a PBD Frontline episode of what happened next: the FBI sent in undercover agents posing as documentary filmmakers. They stayed on the Bundy ranch, interviewed the family and friends, and eventually went with Cliven's son to that standoff in Idaho(?). Then they told the guys in the standoff to do target practice "it will make good footage for the documentary" -- and then that shooting was used as predicate by the feds to go in.
The episode is online, this was the first and only time I've seen the feds' targeting the family *after* the initial ranch standoff involvement mentioned. As you would guess, Fronltline barely mentions the trial at the very end of the show because there was so much illegal activity by the prosecution.

the underlying charge they are nailing people on is interfering with a government function or some such nonsense. i had to go to cornell online and read up the us codes on it- basically the statute was enacted to deter drug dealers from interfering with witnesses and victims of their activities so they can make it to trial and testify.
it's a total bastardization of the law to use it in this case. of course, the trick is they use that law to get them hooked then do a superseding indictment with other more appropriate charges.

while i concur with your initial thought, the point is that these people are being remanded and kept in solitary. it would be one thing to have them remanded for a day or two for the initial appearance and then bond is set and they are freed.
not with these people though.
that is a serious aberration. it takes a lot to get people remanded federally. seen lots of felons walk to show up later for court dates.

The bacon and eggs add a few calories, but the cheese and creamy dressing are where the calorie dump is at. If you go with the vinegar based dressing and avoid the blue cheese crumbles, it's fine.

I learned a trick with creamy salad dressing. You dip your fork tines in the dressing, then spear your mouthfull of veggies. You get the flavor, but you end up eating significantly less of the dressing.
Fried chicken, yeah, there's no avoiding the calories if you're going to eat that.

I recommend avoiding giving them any people food for several reasons.
1) you never know what will upset their kitty tummy
2) if all they ever eat is from a bowl they tend not to figure out they can eat other food, so they don't beg or go through your garbage or get on the table when you aren't looking and eat a chicken leg.
3) Its cheaper to just get them cat food from a bag by the ton rather than cooking up special food for them

I managed to nab my parents egg cooker before my siblings. The device cooks eggs using steam in a few minutes depending upon what type of egg you want cooked. Little amount of water for soft eggs and a bit more for hard boiled. It even has a tray for poached eggs.

Heard the cold water rinse right after boiling. But, 99% of my "cooking" is canned/microwave food.

Ice baths keep the yolks nice and bright and prevents that green ring from forming, but I never found it helped with de-shelling those little buggers.

IIRC, Myorkas was a *refugee*. Yeah, he's siding with the current alleged Haitian refugees, not Americans.

Problem is that the Haitians are NOT legitimate refugees.
These people have already received asylum in South American countries like Chile and Brazil. We know this because they've been ditching their Chilean and Brazilian ID cards as they come over our border, so that they can then lie to a U.S. immigration judge and say they're "fleeing vicious gang violence in Haiti." They want "refugee" status here so that they can then access all the welfare programs.
The Haitians are benefits shopping. They are no different from the muzzie refugees in Europe who refused to stay in the first safe EU countries they were given asylum in because they wanted the higher welfare payments and better housing benefits they could get in the U.K.
The Haitians aren't real refugees. They're just trying to "upgrade" to better hand-outs. And we shouldn't be tolerating this blatant abuse of our system.
