The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

Just watching Manchin and Sinema mock Schumer, who (as Hugh Hewitt noted) is desperate to ward off a primary challenge from up-talking, irony-free socialista AOC, restores one’s faith in cosmic justice. The libs are furious that Joe Manchin is ruining their party – it’s awesome. And their fussy threats are even more precious. Yeah, someone’s going to successfully primary Manchin from the left in West Virginia, right after the Boy Scouts let the Lincoln Project be honorary jamboree co-sponsors. Kurt Schlichter

Quote II

Biden is in trouble not because of his failures in any one crisis, but because of his general incompetence.Matthew Continetti

Quote III
“Unfortunately, we are unable to share any additional details beyond what is in the statement.”

“Emory is unable to share personnel information and can’t speculate his intentions,” Emory spokesperson Gana Ahn

Because it doesn't fit your template.

Quote IV

“It remains to be seen how the European utilities will balance the rise in carbon emissions and consumer sentiment against the unavailability or unaffordability of power from less carbon-intensive sources.”Slava Kiryushin, global head of energy at DWF, an international provider of legal and business services.

I guess he's addicted to his "15 minutes of fame." TV reality celebrity Dog The Bounty Hunter gets involved in the search for Brian Laundrie.

Reality star Dog the Bounty Hunter has dramatically joined the hunt for fugitive Brian Laundrie - exclusively vowing to DailyMail.com: 'I will find him.'

The former bail bondsman - real name Duane Chapman, 68 - arrived at the house of Laundrie's parents Christopher and Roberta on Saturday afternoon.

The 68-year-old tough guy - dressed head to toe in black - marched up the drive and banged repeatedly on their front door.

Hate is a strong word and a stronger emotion. But, I'm about to the hate stage when it comes to the FBI.

An explosive report over the weekend claims to show that two alleged Capitol riot participants were actually government informants. The New York Times reported Saturday that “records, and information from two people familiar with the matter, suggest that federal law enforcement had a far greater visibility into the assault on the Capitol, even as it was taking place, than was previously known.”

Stasi fucking wannabes.

Does a bear shit in the woods? Sure. And you can to safely. The ONT Is Always Looking Out For You.TM(H/T Doof)

The first time you do a number 2 in the wilderness, it’s intimidating. You’re out in the open, with the bugs and the poison ivy, clutching either a few precious squares of toilet paper or a pile of rocks and (hopefully smooth) leaves. Keep at it, though, and you’ll find it better faster than you think (especially if you can find a spot with a view). Learn the correct way to do your business in the wilderness and enjoy the experience with these tips.

Will this be coming to a neighborhood near you? Melbourne Australia Police and Riot Squads Fire Upon Peaceful Protestors While Media Frame COVID Anti-Lockdown Protests as Domestic Extremists

On day three of the Melbourne labor union protests against the brutal COVID lock-downs and forced mRNA genetic experiments, the Victorian government decided to open fire upon the peaceful protestors. The police triggered a ‘no-fly zone’ in the Melbourne metropolitan area to stop media from using their helicopters to record the protests and violent police activity.

While the official motive given by police for the media ban was to block protestors from knowing where the thousands of police were amassing; the background issue of the government wanting to keep the Australian people from seeing police open fire upon their own citizens is transparently obvious. Americans would be wise to pay attention to all facets of how the Australian government is moving violently against their own citizens

Well, this certainly is a step in the right direction.

Colorado Man Accused Of Sex With Horse Escapes Jail, Takes Cop On Short Pursuit In Nearby River

A man accused of sexually assaulting a horse pulled off a brazen escape from jail earlier this week.

Jonah Barrett-Lesko was jailed in La Plata County Jail in Durango, Colorado, after being caught on camera having sex with a horse at the La Plata County fairgrounds during the night of June 17th. He eventually had his animal cruelty charges dismissed as part of a plea deal. However, the 25-year-old still faced trespassing charges in connection to several robberies.

On Tuesday, jail officials discovered Barrett-Lesko missing from the recreation yard, where he had been alone for some time before his escape. Surveillance footage shows him climbing over a wall then using a hole in a fenced area to escape the jail grounds.

Police tracked him about 25 miles away to the Animas River after receiving a phone call about a suspected escaped inmate running by a local Office Depot. Durango Police Chief Bob Brammer also spotted the man running close to the river before entering the water. He had shed his jumpsuit by this time and was only wearing his boxers when officers began pursuing him.

“That’s what really attracted my attention to him because you don’t see half-naked people running through the woods in their boxer shorts,” Brammer stated.

No word if Police Chief Brammer's former name was Sherlock.

A little boy has a new family and plenty of friends got to see his adoption. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

In the United States alone, there are approximately 135,000 children that are adopted every year. I’m sure every single one of those have their own personal story to tell.

But one five-year-old wanted to share this special moment with all of his classmates. He invited his entire kindergarten class to his adoption hearing at the Kent County courthouse in Michigan.

Keeps the flies away, n.b. they are the same flies that will be landing on on your picnic table and food at the campground. Stupid bastards leaving shit on the trails and campsites. Not a pleasant topic but it didna useta be like this.

Deuteronomy (goes back quite a ways is my understanding) talks about how to take a dump and bury it.

But Friday was Adoption Day. Moms and Dads and kids, all dressed in Sunday best, descended on the courthouse for their adoption decrees. We peeked outside our offices to watch them march in. It was pure joy. It saved us.

Thus explains Dem voters and candidates.

(I thought it was his fault for leaving them out) Everybody blamed me and put me on porcupine patrol. Porcupines are attracted to anything salty. We had to move camp. Ported over from this afternoon's food thread:

I can commiserate. We rented a Uhaul truck on Monday and loaded our fridge, washer, and dryer and all the things we felt we could go without accessing for a couple of days. On Tuesday, hubs came down with Covid. By Wednesday, I had it as well. We can't figure out how to travel 750 miles to our new house without stopping for gas and bathroom where we would be exposing other people.

I've been wearing the same clothes for a week. I do NOT want to partially unload the truck and try to find the boxes with my clothes.

Uhaul has been very sweet. They gave us a few free days when we told them we were delayed due to illness and then they gave us a discount for even more days when we found out we were going to have to isolate.

Waah.

Drive by: Go for it because it's perfectly safe per the CDC. Quote:

This is apparently the actual science and has been ever since the get-go because they haven't changed it at all. If you're not going to be hanging out closer than six feet away from the people in that gas station for 15 minutes, you aren't spreading the COVIDs to them per the CDC.

265 Schlichter's article, unfortunately, contains a fulsome load of praise for Mitch McConnell. Too much to unpack in a short(ish) comment, but I found his (admittedly, qualified) valentine to McConnell nauseating - as well as factually questionable. Mitch is part of the problem, and any solution that doesn't at least contemplate replacing this exemplar of mere machine politics at some point is bound to fail.

278 Latest I heard on Biden's illegal mandate. If you get fired for refusing the jab you aren't eligible for UE. I guess that is just an extension of the illegal mandate. Getting fired for cause means no UE, but when the cause is refusing to go along with an illegal mandate it sucks. I should probably start looking into how to set myself up as a contractor now; I suspect my work will go along with the mandate whenever OSHA gets around to formalizing it. At least they are waiting for now.

I can't, won't try to claim a religious exemption. I never even looked into whether the shingrix vaccine or tetanus boosters I got this year had any connections with abortion and I'm not a regular church attendee. Heck I might have gotten the covid shot this fall, but for my contrarian nature, plus knowing of too many folks who got the vaccine and still got covid. I don't want an exemption from the illegal mandate I want the damn mandate struck down.

287 Years ago, "disappearing" was a whole lot easier to do. Acquiring a new identity was pretty simple. It's interesting to read how things we're done back in the day. In thise days the hot setup was to find the names of babies who died shortly after childbirth, and get a duplicate birth certificate. Apparently the County Clerk offices would do this. Anyway as the saying went, "Give them the paper they want, and they will give you the paper you want." With a birth certificate, virtually every other document needed to prove identify was obtainable.

Once Fingerprinting became routine for convicts and military/government it became a little tougher, but if one could manage to stay out of trouble or not be recognized by someone 4 states away or whatever, it was doable. Seems to me it would be no fun looking over your shoulder the rest of your life, but it's been done.

These days? What with digital online tracking, facial recognition software, DNA, and the rest of it. I'd think it would be impossible without state sponsorship. Maybe if you're content to live in a cave, and have help.

So I'm thinking to myself why have I never seen Jesus in a taco? And it occurs to me that maybe...maybe...it's cause all the tacos down here are generally of a very high quality. Surely he would not want to mar or distract from the experience of good eats. Good tacos clearly pleaseth the LAWD. So I guess that means should the LAWD appear on your taco it should be taken as a warning that it's a bad one and should be avoided. Instead, just marvel in his glorious visage.

And bless you as well. I am lucky in that my daughters got to meet and keep in touch. Kidlet and I flew out to her memorial together and were greeted with a very warm welcome. It was all surreal. My ex-SiL picked (kidlet's aunt) us up at the airport in Seattle and took us to Oly and went with us. She was there for both births.
But I am thankful to the Lord. Life is a strange thing. I pray and thank him every day.

357 Hmm

In the 70s, I spent two summers in Haiti with a group of opthamologists and nurses who worked, effectively, as medical missionaries. There was no religion involved, they just traveled the back roads of Haiti helping people with eye problems (all roads in Haiti are back roads). The only paved road was on the north coast, mainly potholes, but was paved in 1919 by the US Marines.

358 So...I went to look at the numbers and Egypt, doing nothing apparently, had 17K deaths out of 100M people. France, as a comparison had 115K deaths with 65M people.

Second look at doing nothing?

The logical conclusion is that hospitals are doing some sort of care regimen that leads to more fatal outcomes than if you don't go to a hospital. The scary parts of that are several..do they have enough doctors who will do fatal care knowingly? Are the doctors not good enough to be able to see what works to cure it and what doesn't? Is the system corrupt enough to just assign every death to Covid and stick to it to scare people? Are there really enough people in control positions in health care that will just let people die so as to not endanger their jobs\income? I never trusted the medical industry much before, and now I wouldn't go near it unless I was 100% sure it was my only option besides imminent death. At least til all this plays out.

They say this is missing white woman syndrome but I think it was all brought to attention because of her social media because she had a following. If she was a BIPOC and had a big following and went missing, there would be a ton of interest. Sorry to disappoint the leftists. It's all about branding now.

I'm between doctors. Can't go to Urgent Care because I have Covid. I've got a couple of docs I will call in the morning. Talking to a couple of people who survived Oregon hospitals, they are insisting patients WITH covid get a covid shot. One guy said he didn't want to so they sent him home

they treat bilharzia with Praxiquantel, which is the same stuff I use on my cats for tapeworms.
It apparently has a minor antiviral effect, and I wonder if that is what is happening in Egypt.

This is the least studied disease in history. On purpose. Medical doctors knew more about treating small pox in 1700 than we know about Covid.

433 419 Just read that Laundrie's family is "well off."

So his parents and family probably should be probed. God knows wealthy people know how to wire/send money to people under the radar.

I was reading about this because of all the press and the parents bought a camper when he came home alone. They loaded it up and left town with him. They came back alone and claim they don't know where he is, but they are not actively looking for him, or even seem concerned about it. They have him hidden away.

453 Something doesn't jibe. Whether it's the treatment, or something in the transmission that we don't know but similar countries adjacent to each other with far different outcomes.

Well...part of the issue is that the number of infections is not consistent. Some countries test more then others, and data sources like this just pretend that they are comparing apples to apples - note this would be easy to test, pay 1000 people in Nigeria or wherever to take a weekly antibody test - compare to the official numbers.

But...that wouldn't be done, because the antibody tests say that something like 80% of the world has already been exposed - by the way if you take that number as true, that means the US had 700K deaths (I know that number is artificially high) out of 264M people for a death rate of .27%. The FNM has people convinced it is 20+%

As tens of thousands of unvaccinated New York health-care workers are set to be fired on Monday once the state's COVID-19 vaccination deadline kicks in, Gov. Kathy Hochul has a plan for a potential staffing shortage: a statewide state of emergency.

Hochul said preparations were underway Saturday to make an emergency declaration, clearing the way for health-care workers not licensed in New York to fill in the gaps of those terminated. The declaration will also allow workers from other countries, recent graduates, and retirees to practice in New York. In addition, the state may deploy "medically trained" National Guard troops, according to a statement from the governor's office.

As tens of thousands of unvaccinated New York health-care workers are set to be fired on Monday once the state's COVID-19 vaccination deadline kicks in, Gov. Kathy Hochul has a plan for a potential staffing shortage: a statewide state of emergency.

This is going to end up as another establishment "leftist" disaster. It won't work like they decree. People in NY that need care wont get it. And the media they control won't report it. Our establishment is either purposely messing everything up for some strategy that I don't understand (how do you get support from the normie masses by repeatedly messing things up for them while you are in charge?)r they are so arrogantly incompetent that they believe there is no way they can ever face consequences for making everyone mad except for the small percentage of the population that makes money off their decisions. I just don't see how this works out well for them and why they can't see that. They succeed in making the system collapse, they become nothing as their power rests in the system continuing. None of them are macho Dukes that people are afraid of physically, they are bureaucrats that only wield power in a civil society.

it is basically always demand and not supply. i recall twenty years ago they were shipping them into London on charter planes from the Phillippines. I remember way back when that was on those on the side occupations. My understanding is they are in high demand and this has little to do with Covid. It is likely always going to be this way going forward.

525 what happens when a major political party decides that "hurr hurr abortion rhetoric" represents a cohesive platform and votes accordingly
---------
What happens when a major party does that, though?

What happens is that they create a culture of death, and an enormous, likely unstoppable, totally unpersuadable voting bloc who crawl over hot coals to vote for them no matter how badly they behave, because it's their only means of assuaging their collective guilt about their society-wide killing rampage.

It's created millions upon millions of morose murderers who salve their consciences with boxes of wine and virtue signals and reams of ballots for the people who turn their sons and daughters who they didn't murder into slaves, because they're the ones who tell them what they did is ok.

"Hurr durr abortion rhetoric" has been invaluable to one of our major parties.

Watched 2 episodes of Gene Roddenberry's pre-Trek series The Lieutenant yesterday afternoon -- nothing special, but it was fun to spot actors and actresses who later appeared in Trek and U.N.C.L.E.. Then the 1937 classic film Nothing Sacred w/ Fredric March and Carole Lombard. I hadn't realized the movie was in color! Not colorized, but shot in Technicolor.

Carole was one hell of a woman. She was married to Clark Gable a few years before she died in a plane crash in '42. The story goes that she was told of a brothel near LA where the girls were all lookalikes of famous actresses, and that there was one who looked like her. Instead of being outraged or offended, she laughed. "Don't tell Clark -- he'll want to go!"

They are taking a big huge shit on those Doctors and Nurses. Remember, when this thing started there was no way to know how deadly it was going to be, and they worked their ass off through it, and there was no vaccine to take, not even a defective, leaky one that may kill you or leave you permanently disabled. Further, they most likely came down with the Covid/Chicom virus and now have excellent natural immunity.
