Top Story

  • Knock at the door and the sound of a package being left while I was busy on a video conference. I assumed it was either the new glasses I ordered or the Dell laptop that I've been waiting on for, hmm, four weeks to the day.

    It was both.

Which is great because I've been having increasing trouble with both my old PC and my old glasses.

  • If you have been following the protests in Melbourne at all, you should be aware that everything the Victoria state government says is a lie, everything the police say is a lie, and almost everything the mainstream media says is a lie.

Sometimes it's the same lie, but sometimes it's mutually contradictory lies.

    ...

Okay, this space unintentionally left blank. The account that was live-tweeting all the Melbourne protests has just erased their Twitter history.

You'd think if there had been an attack (the discussion of which is now gone) there would be video all over the place but Dictator Dan has banned live video from Melbourne.

What we do have evidence of is this:

"Police clash with protesters" who are lying face down on the pavement with someone kneeling on their neck.

World's most liveable city, ladies and gentlemen.

Fortunately the federal courts aren't having it.

Unfortunately the news networks are worthless. If I wasn't already banned from Twitter I soon would be after responding to these fascist-fellating fuckheads.

Tech News

  • Microsoft's new Surface lineup is here. (AnandTech)

Looks like the leak was legit.

The Surface Pro 8 has a 2880x1920 13" display (why not 3000x2000?) with a quad core CPU and up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The SSD appears to be a tiny M.2 2230 unit that is user-replaceable, which is a nice improvement over the usual state of everything being glued in place. If you buy the low-end 128GB model you can upgrade it yourself, except you can't because the biggest M.2 2230 cards you can find at retail are 128GB.

It also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a headphone jack, but no microSD slot because we can't have nice things.

There's also a new Surface Laptop model which has a flippy hinge so that the screen lies flat on top of the keyboard in tablet mode, and a Surface Pro X which is Arm-based and sucks.

  • There's also a Surface Duo 2. (Thurrott.com)

Microsoft's dual-screen Android phone is still expensive but at least it now has near-flagship specs, with a Snapdragon 888, 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage.

  • The article doesn't mention the password used this time but we can guess. (Bleeping Computer)

A second farming co-op has been hit with ransomware - despite being on the list of industries that Russia should not attack.

  • If you're running a really old Android device - before 6.0 - it's time to install Firefox. (Tech Crunch)

Let's Encrypt's old root certificate is expiring at the end of the month. They already have a new one, but Android versions through 5.0 don't know about it and can't be updated.

Firefox has its own certificate registry, though, and will continue to work.

10 It's impossible to make good decisions without adequate information.

Does anyone else get the sense there is something "they" aren't telling us? None of this adds up. We know with reasonable certainty it is indeed a bioweapon released, though this seems to be the great unspoken truth, or not acknowledged much, if at all.

15 It looks to me from out here in the cheap seats, the vaccine is not particularly effective, lasts but a short while, and is extremely dangerous comparatively. And we don't know how dangerous.

And make no mistake, the virus is killing a lot of people. "Mostly" old people. I was talking to a lefty relative. I mentioned the nursing home deaths as a result of stuffing them with fhe patients kicked out of the hospitals. He was trumpeting the 600k dead number, yet at the same time dismissing nursing home deaths as "they were going to die anyway".

It's impossible to talk to anybody anymore, I'm not sure how to process callousness. It looks like there's no rhyme or reason to the Covid/Chicom virus, though it does tend to hit the obese really hard. Is that true of the "regular" flu? And then there's the sneaking suspicion the virus is actually causing the "newl variants (as if there are any other kind) and then the bizarre almost suspicious insistence that everybody take a vaciine that doesn't seem to work worth a shit ; yeah then they want to blame people who say "F this", and even blame it on "Trump supporters", (along with everything else).

Did I leave anything out?

Like This:

Taylor Lee, FDA Economist: Go to the unvaccinated and blow it [COVID vaccine] into them. Blow dart it into them.
Lee: Census goes door-to-door if you dont respond. So, we have the infrastructure to do it [forced COVID vaccinations]. I mean, itll cost a ton of money. But I think, at that point, I think there needs to be a registry of people who arent vaccinated. Although thats sounding very [much like Nazi] Germany.

23 I'm not against vaccines, I think they are great. I think antibiotics, painkillers, and modern dentistry is pretty damn spiffy, too.

Science and medicine needs to he open and transparent. We're not getting that. The insistence to take a virus that doesn't seem to do fvck all, and may well harm people, and die anyway. Why do they have such a hard on about this?

Why ignore natural immunity? There's something really queer about this (in the classical sense)

I like OM's take on this point yesterday, in the Morning Rant:

"I used to get the flu shot every year. I've got nothing against vaccines. I'm just dubious about minimally tested, rushed-to-market vaccines. It's like new computer software. You never should buy version 1.0, because you know it will be full of bugs. It's the same with the Covid vaccines. I'm going to wait until the 2.0 or maybe even the 2.1 versions are released before I get one."

If they aren't 80.

What about all these younger people though? Is it the Vaxx that's killing them, or the Coof?

Or is it both? A rushed to market vaccine that is dangerous and inneffective against an escaped manipulated bioweapon or whatever. Nice!

precisely.
f'rinstance, the sudden appearance of the phrase "the jab" tells me that PR consultants in the UK were involved ... common phrase over there, for years; unheard of here, until this year when suddenly it's everywhere at once.

81 well, if everyone insists on discussing it, here's a foretaste of The Emerging Narrative:
from The Atlantic:
"Six Rules That Will Define Our Second Pandemic Winter"

--

from the piece:

"We know that it can set off both acute and chronic illness, that it spreads best indoors, that masks help block it, that our vaccines are powerful against it. "

Literally the first paragraph and it's misleading at best and outright anti-science at worst. Like I said, it's like this worldwide. It's organized and planned.

When viruses spread faster, they can be tougher to control. But they can't persist without us, and our behavior matters too."

So, keep doing what we've been doing that isn't really helping anything, and all will be just fine and dandy.

The COVID is going to kill everyone without boosters every two months, and even those boosters may only be 10% effective so it's important to end socialization and travel as we know it.

Also the vaccines are perfectly safe and tested and there's nothing to be hesitant about, and don't believe the math that you can do yourself when it comes to breakthrough infections that are accidentally being reported.

100 I've mentioned it before, but want to mention it again.

A lot of tyranny rests on a basic, fundamental corruption of the law that the Left has spun up.

This being the idea that the Interstate Commerce Clause and General Welfare clause restrain the 10th Amendment.

Does anybody here work with contracts? If so, you've probably already figured out where I'm going with this. An Amendment, as its name implies, amends the contract. The contract does not constrain the amendment, the amendment alters the contract.

No core text can override an amendment. The amendment replaces and modifies any core text (and the text of any preceding amendment) that might contradict it.

That so many legal thinkers and jurists have yet to notice something so basic in the order of operations seems to be monstrous sham of a travesty of a mockery to me.

I've bragged on our electric weedeater here before. I bought it on clearance for $50 or so and t's been great.

One of the two $180 batteries completely died recently and I contacted the company about a replacement under warranty. "We have no batteries to send you." Wait, what?

And now the other battery is only lasting about half the time that it had started with last year. Contact again. "We still have no batteries to send you."

So now I'm going to go buy another gas powered one - one that works and will keep working for a decade - and get rid of these that I've had for about one (1) year. Heck of a way to save the environment, guys.

NT is having MASSIVE violence and crime, my nieces are making twice as much as normal because of that, but they are pretty girls surrounded by violence in a tourist town (spinnafex) with very little work, but a lot of violence.

I don't live in the Australia I know, and I know if i go back to America it is not the America I knew.

Meaning, a lot of old boys, like the piggers and the rooers took on the guns of other people who were expected to turn them in, and the Old boys just burried them.

It's a real phrase. "there are a lot of guns in the desert"

Still, 64 square feet? 8'x8' -- most prison cells are bigger than that.

Even with sky high lumber prices (which come back down quite a bit, I read) you can build a tiny house for that. Plumbing, electrical, kitchen, movable.

The station was playing the bit from the Messiah instrumental part "He is the King Of Glory" A little bit after that the sun came up in a blaze of pink. It looked like the sky was on fire, After that it was all golden and I thought of a hymn in your hymnal. Those that go to churches with the old hymns may know it, "When morning gilds the skies my heart awaking cries, "May Jesus Christ be praised!"

Everyday we can see blessings if we ask God to help make us be aware of them.
