Durham Indicts Perkins-Coie Lawyer for Lying About His Employment By the Clinton Campaign When Peddling a Lie to the FBI

I covered the story that Durham might indict this guy for lying to the FBI (during an official investigation) last night.

durhamcomes.png

durham2.png

Sussman's defense is that he wasn't working for Clinton when he... ahem, completely independently brought the Alfa bank server bullshit to the FBI. He's claiming he just brought over that information due to his being a patriot, not because he was working for Clinton.

But... his own billing records say he was working for Clinton for the Alfa bank hoax.

billingrecords.jfif

alfawork.jfif

Because he lied to the FBI five years ago -- I guess September 19, 2016 -- Durham had until this weekend to beat the five year statute of limitations.

Surprising most, he actually indicted him.

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment against cybersecurity attorney Michael Sussmann, who represented the DNC in connection with the 2016 Russia hack. Special Counsel John Durham sought the charge.

The grand jury indictment accused Sussmann of lying when he "stated to the General Counsel of the FBI that he was not acting on behalf of any client in conveying particular allegations concerning a Presidential candidate, when in truth, and fact, as the defendant well knew, he was acting on behalf of specific clients, namely, Tech Executive-1 and the Clinton Campaign," reports Huffington Post.

As the excerpt from the indictment below spells out, Sussaman knowingly passed a false claim to the FBI, and then lied about who he was working for. This caused the FBI to take this false-from-the-start claim seriously, and resulted in the material harm to an ongoing investigation.

Thanks to Tami.

45 It reminds me of the Clinesmith thing. The implication here is that Sussman squealed (which is what usually is the situation with a big investigation--the squealer gets the first indictment on a relative soft minor crime--and that's what gets the ball rolling as everyone scrambles for a plea deal.)

But in Clinesmith's case, that didn't happen. He was it, and his sentence was eventually reduced. So this could be a big deal or a nothingburger

He could have just let it run out, filed a confidential report to the AG as the regulation requires, and gone to work for some big bank. But I just see a collapsed Biden/Harris Presidency and nation on the brink and am afraid Trump is going to be a GOP version of Adlai Stevenson that just keeps running for President and losing until he dies. Even after all of this, I could still see Biden beating Trump again.

I think Trump was too naive about what he would encounter in Washington. He thought he could break down barriers just by being willing to deal. I think he would have given the Dems more than many people here would have been comfortable with had Nanzi and Shroomer been willing to deal.

For example, he thought he could "drain the swamp". We now know that it was never that easy. That this power to try people ex-parte that they had received with such earnest vows was now used like toilet paper.

What I'm about to say isn't directed at anyone in particular, just conservatives in general (including me). The reason conservatives are surprised to be disappointed is because conservatives have been fools for decades. Who do you think erected this Leviathan state? Liberals all on their own? Nixon, Ford, Reagan, both Bushes - which one reduced government in any meaningful way? None; they mostly solidified expansions or expanded it in their own right. And we supported that. For decades. And now some of us are very ass-mad that one guy we elected, who was resisted by his own party at very turn, didn't somehow topple a system we helped labor to build for decades.

Dear Dems,
IT WAS ALL A LIE

Creating A "Narrative"
"Tech Executive-1 used his access at multiple organizations to gather & mine public & non-public Internet data regarding Trump & his associates w/ the goal of creating a "narrative" regarding the candidate's ties to Russia"

R1 queried data for the .trump-email domain then emailed TE1 a list of domains that communicated w/ it - none of which appeared to have links to Russia".

R1 noted that the list "does not make much sense w/ the storyline you have," referring to the Trump-Russia storyline

But that's just conjecture and speculation.

I'm just sour with Trump right now, but I proudly voted for him twice. I think he was worth the price just for the masks he dropped.

But I just see a collapsed Biden/Harris Presidency and nation on the brink and am afraid Trump is going to be a GOP version of Adlai Stevenson that just keeps running for President and losing until he dies. Even after all of this, I could still see Biden beating Trump again.

The Trump white house was disappointing on this. The FBI lied about everything as we've seen in the DOJ's motion to dismiss the guilty plea.

Any sharp attorney should've seen the setup, especially when the interview was when flynn was on a beach and the fibs were just shootin' the shit with him and didn't bother to write down their 302s.

what they ultimately came up with was that flynn said we didn't discuss sanctions but we did discuss reprecussions when in reality flynn may have discussed reprecussions, eh? Also, Flynn couched his answer with "you guys probably already know this but here's what I think"

Yep. It's a shitty name - but yes, that's the definition of White Priv. The idea that you can determine your own course. Make your own decisions. Sink or swim according to your own choices.

They picked White because "White" ... but that's where we are at.

Trump caught on way too late. Remember his convo with Lampstand Comey?

If his guys *really* did something, he'd like to know. He took Comey for being on the up-and-up during this time.

I think it's a flaw that Trump did not see that right from the beginning, nobody in Washington was calling for him to be that President that gets things done. It certainly makes career politicians look bad to come with this "solution" or that "solution" when a newbie laps them right out of the gate.

But that's not a flaw that diminishes Trump to me.

Right. When it's simply the FIB's word that he lied. And they have evidence that Lisa Page "dropped off some edits" to the 302.

The FIB didn't have the evidence to prosecute him. So, what do you know, as well as lying about Carter Page while trying him ex-parte, they edited the 302s so Flynn "said" something the FIB agent doesn't remember him saying.

Total shit show.

349 Regarding criticisms of Trump's choices:

We can see that Trump made some bad choices. I suspect, though, his choices were the best of the options he had. In many cases he had a bunch of bad options. In order to create good options, he would have had to have some rather extraordinary Jedi-like influence, power, and knowledge.

Really, he does not have the authority to fire every anti-American swamp critter, even though they all need to be fired. He did a great job of exposing their perfidy and nudging the American people in a better direction. And he made tremendous strides in restoring our prosperity and peace in spite of the swamp.
