Abbot -- the FBI agent most guilty of the cover-up -- had been induced to bury McKayla's complaint by the Olympic Committee dangling the possibility of giving him some security work. Only after years was he forced to resign. But he remains uncharged by the DOJ, because the Lawmen Are Above the Law, and f*** you, peasant, for complaining about that. The report, which confirmed that the FBI knew of allegations as early as 2015, condemned the FBI for "[failing] to respond to allegations of sexual abuse of athletes by former USA Gymnastics physician Lawrence Gerard Nassar with the urgency that the allegations required." In the time it took the FBI to conduct a thorough investigation, Nassar assaulted over 70 young athletes.Julie Kelly has been writing about this since 2019, and notes that James Comey -- that straight-shooter repeatedly vouched for by the Conservative, Inc. The Nassar case was a shameful display of failure at every level. And the powerful agency assigned with protecting the most vulnerable from the most predatory--the Federal Bureau of Investigation, led by the preening, moralistic James Comey--took no action until it was too late. In 2015 and 2016, as Comey’s FBI connived to downplay the Clinton email investigation and concocted the Trump-Russia election collusion scheme, Nassar's victims continued to be sexually abused even after the FBI had been warned of his behavior. A February 2018 analysis by the New York Times identified "at least 40 girls and women who say that Dr. Nassar molested them between July 2015, when he first fell under F.B.I. scrutiny, and September 2016," when the Indy Star reported on lawsuits filed by Nassar’s victims. Throughout 2016, while Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page was under intense surveillance by Comey's FBI, Dr. Larry Nassar was not. In fact, Comey;s FBI didn't arrest Nassar until December 2016, after Michigan law enforcement officials charged Nassar with a variety of crimes. FBI agents then found 37,000 images of child pornography, including girls as young as 6 and dating back to 2003, on Nassar's home computers.Too bad Comey didn't seek a warrant on Nassar, huh? Don't worry though: The Incorruptible Christopher Wray said he was sorry and promised to do better.

So I'm way, way late to this party, but I'll share my experiences.
My ex-wife became my ex wife when she slept with at least two other men. I moved out, and we have been able to maintain our (to my mind) excellent co-parent relationship. I don't trust her with anything emotional, and when my kids are old enough to understand, I'll explain more, but she loves them the way I'd hope a mom loves her kiddos.
My parents are paying for her defense team throughout everything. They are paying a significant portion of her (formerly our) bills to help her maintain the house the way she wants. They have absolutely disowned me, as have all of my extended family, as best I can tell. Cousins, my remaining grandmother, et al.
I will not ever forgive to the point I can have a relationship with my family again. My soul won't hold onto this, but my mind absolutely will.
Watch your six with your sister-in-law. She'll likely not stop undermining you.

He was a combatant commander (O-3), lost troops under his command, served not only honorably, but valiantly in both theaters, came home, took a job on the FBI's hostage rescue team.

I have no contact with my side of the family, but hub's family more than makes up for that.

I did my undergrad at Penn State. I knew Jerry Sandusky, and knew he was a weirdo, but never imagined he was raping children. It's a big leap from 'weird' to 'child rapist.'

I don't think this was a case of not believing the kids. Even the parents knew what was going on. They just swallowed the ridiculous excuses that stinking fingers inside a girl's vagina was some kind of actual medical procedure or therapy. Nassar barely even hid what he was doing. There was a lot of testimony on this a few years ago -- including from the girls' parents -- and I was shocked how much everyone knew and how easily they were all placated with stupid excuses. As I said above, I think they were all starry-eyed and were willing to look the other way.

There is a need for a Federal LEO agency to make sure criminals don't use the limits of state law to their advantage, and that trouble from overseas doesn't make a nest here. There is no need for an agency that serves as henchmen to the overbearing Deep State and corrupt politicians who wish to use the Federal law as a cudgel against their opponents, and a cover to their desires. The second characteristic has absorbed and subsumed the first all too often.

I work for a company that sells a product to the FBI.
Imagine you could punch in a name or SSN and get searchable results for online activity including blogs, comments, social media, etc.
The FBI agents were instructed that they can't use the product willy nilly. Need authorization.
So of course, during training, and FBI guy looks up his wife. He does this within mins of hearing not to.

This was when Bill Sessions ( a presumed Republican) was running the show. Before the test or even an introductory speaker they showed a video. The video was about 10 minutes long and was nothing more than woke nonsense where they specifically stated that women and minorities would be given special consideration in the application process.
At the time, I had 10 years of investigative experience as well as a list of what I presumed to be beneficial credentials. I aced the test. I never received a follow up or an interview.
The march through the institutions included the FBI, and it was completed many years ago...which is what I'm getting at.

Strip the Fibbers and DHS of arrest authority and require federal marshals or state/local leos to do the actual arrest, eliminate the Bureau of Prisons and subcontract to states to do the incarceration, and so on.

After I got out of the Navy, I was required to be in the Naval Reserve for a few years...an FBI agent showed up to interview me since I had a TSC at the time. He was very nice, but he knew everything about me, including my wife and her family.
They aren't unknowledgeable and perfectly capable of knowing what Nasser was up to...they just never looked into it, period. Then, when it blew up, tried to cover it up. It would be interesting to see exactly 'what' the agents that interviewed these underaged girls were working on at the time...that would give some indications as to why they didn't follow up on the crimes they related.

Has there been one actual case thre FBI has succeeded in? Because it seems in every case it's either the FBI completely shit the bed and let thr crimes go on for decades for thier own benefit, or the FBI was the sole conspirator and they then entrapped some putz.

And forced the local detective to admit on the stand that they were basically leaning on this kid to try and get info on his older brother so they could put HIM away. They told the kid if he didn't flip on his brother, they'd put him away for 20 years, which was above the maximum they could sentence him.
It took us less than 45 minutes to cut the kid loose. Not guilty on all charges. Your FBI at work, folks.

Absolutely. Consider that most of these people have their own children including daughters. Nassar had child porn on his computer with girls as young as six? Just hours after being let out in general population in prison in Tucson, he was assaulted and was transferred to Orlando region.
I will assume that the rest in the FBI are pedophiles and dirty cops on the take until proven otherwise.

Some of them were *in the room* with their daughters. Apparently he had a super smooth line of patter about what he was doing maybe looking bad but really being a necessary part of physical therapy. And, well he was the expert so the parents believed him and not their lying eyes. He is/was every bit as much a psycho as a serial killer and seems to have had many if the same traits.

Interesting. I was on a jury for a similar case but involving Los Angeles County Sheriffs. They had a guy charged with crack possession. The case fell apart.

It would be the best policy to look into this in more detail rather than raising questions about the parents not doing anything, without really knowing what was done.
In a nutshell there were complaints. There were things brought to the olympic committee. When they did nothing, some people went to the FBI. Some went to michigan state police as well. Some parents were in denial. After the fact, one father killed himself.

The firing of the agent, Michael Langeman, came after a Justice Department inspector general report released in July criticized him and his boss, agent in charge Jay Abbott, for their handling of the case. It said they failed to respond to allegations by gymnasts that they had been sexually abused by Nassar "with the urgency that the allegations required."
Langeman was a supervisory special agent in the FBI's Indianapolis field office when he interviewed Olympic medalist McKayla Maroney in 2015 about her allegations of abuse by Nassar. The inspector general report said that he and Abbott lied to investigators from the inspector general's office about their actions and that they never officially opened an investigation.

The defense lawyer's suit probably cost more than the poor assistant DA made in a month, I don't know how the family afforded him but it was money well spent. He put that entire case through a wood chipper in about two hours of testimony and cross-examination that made both the local PD and the FBI look like the absolute morons they were.

What happen here looks like their bosses had other priorities for these agents and these agents did not do what they should have, which is elevate these crimes as the serious real case that the agency needed to take on...in short, they most likely just devolved into the lazy sycophantic underling who dismisses issues that they think their bosses are going to be uninterested in...would their bosses uninterested in them? That is what Wray needed to answer yesterday, but Congress is just as lazy and sycophantic and no one really pressed the FBI Director...
Wray needs to be immediately discharged and join an unemployment line that includes Milley and a lot of people over at State including Clueless Tony...but that's not happening right now...

Yes but you really have to see the testimony I mentioned above, including from the parents. The parents KNEW exactly what he was doing at least in terms of his finger-popping. Some of them were even in the room when he was doing it. How any sane parent could believe that this was a legit medical technique is beyond me. I think they must have known something was wrong, but they kept their mouths shut because to open them would jeopardize their daughters' careers.

He was a big deal at USA gymnastics. Not just a doctor. He was affiliated with the national team's training facility and had a lot of influence. He could make or break a girls' career. And once it started getting out about his crimes, the organizations all circled the wagons to avoid exposure.

My brother is a Fed (not FBI). He's a very, very good man. He's also completely, utterly demoralized by the political bullshit and is planning to get out in a few years. All the other agents he knows who are like him are saying the same things, and there's nobody coming up to replace them. (I hear the same things from friends in the military, FWIW.)
So while the Feds aren't completely corrupt yet, they're well on their way.

No, it should be disbanded. A rotten tree isn't fixed by investigations. If, and it seems like a bigger if all the time there are good investigators there, they might be added to the new organization on a case by case basis.
The organization no longer remembers what it is for, and who its real bosses are. It is to enforce the laws, and the people are the bosses. Anything less will not work, just put spit shine on the cancer.

Wrong. Remember, the FBI not only did not investigate the case but actively lied about what she said in the reports. This isn't about laziness, and the idea that a normal guy is going to walk past 500 odd young girls being molested to get back to the important work of inventing conspiracy crimes , especially when these are Olympic Athletes.
