The right to your own body is less absolute - you can be imprisoned etc for just cause - but it is very strong and the Supreme Court has decided hundreds of cases along those lines, always the same way: you may not impose your will on other people's bodies without very good and compelling reasons.
That was the (extremely flawed and insane) reasoning behind Roe v Wade and why pro-infanticide advocates keep arguing that a baby magically transforms into a human at birth.

Sort of. I think it might be closer to say instead "there are no rights." No one has anything - any opinion, any position, any object, any element of themselves - by right. Not anymore. Now you have those things by permission from the state. The state gives you permission to abort. The state does not give you permission to reject a vaccine. The state lets you speak if you say good things, otherwise it doesn't.
This isn't a "I have rights, you do not" situation. It is a "rights do not exist" situation.

My company is a good example, we can't get enough people to work on the business we have right now. 20% reduction in workforce is a deathknell.
This is where a lot of us are making that "stand" that folks have been saying no one is willing to make. My wife and I have already discussed it. I will not comply and I will force them to fire me.

When I come to power, I will halt all new regulation for six months while I commission a database of regulation to be built. The goal is to identify dependencies. "Regulation X depends on Regulation M, which depends on Regulation D, etc." Only the Office of the President has access to that database.
Once built, all agency heads must have on my desk by 4:30 PM every Friday a list of 30 regulations they recommend repealing. They will be run through the database and those 30 - and any regulations that depend on them - will be repealed. If the list isn't on my desk, I will randomly select 50 regulations to be repealed along with all dependencies.
Bind them up to finding the cheapest things to repeal and prevent them from trying to do any real work.

If the gub'mint really wanted to maximize the virus spread they would mandate getting it to receive medicaid and welfare benefits. That group of people is least likely to take precautions to protect others if they are sick. And I'd feel like that was a much less illegal order than mandating that productive citizens, especially those who are not federal employees must get a damn vaccine that is only good for 4-6 months and probably aint good for that long against the current covid mutations.

the vax stats are all public. Go to CDC or your own state's health dept. They post them. As you would expect older folks are vacc'd at higher rates. In ohio people 65+ are about 80% or so. It drops down in for middle aged folks, and is quite a bit lower for teenagers. Most of the unvaccinated in Ohio are kids. I just checked and Novavax is almost ready to apply for full approval. Being that it is not an mRNA vaccine, but a type that has been in use for awhile, many feel safer getting it. And really, that's all I wanted. I wanted something that I would feel comfortable taking if I was forced to get it. I'm not anti-vaccine at all, but rather anti-coercion and anti-awful side effects/unknown side effects/death.

I actually see this fairly often, either Sheriff, San Jose PD or CHP. I think at least in SJ, getting a bike is a special thing, one of my neighbors rides his bike home every night. Also like riders in general, they probably like to hang out and of course go to refresher classes. So I could see the day's shift of bike cops all having breakfast at Denny's before heading off.

the vax stats are all public. Go to CDC or your own state's health dept. They post them. As you would expect older folks are vacc'd at higher rates. In ohio people 65+ are about 80% or so. It drops down in for middle aged folks, and is quite a bit lower for teenagers. Most of the unvaccinated in Ohio are kids. The under 12s are technically not cleared for it. 20 somethings who arent' in college and cant be forced. That's the thing, we've already hit the targets for at risk groups. Not necessarily, but possible. Dementia patients can focus on the darnedest things and freak out. For instance, my mother would suddenly decide that everything is TOO LOUD and lose her shit. I had to carry earplugs in the car all the time. Other times the exact same thing (church service) was no big deal, because she'd forget it's TOO LOUD. Same with the sun. I'd tell her to just close her eyes in the car, which means STARE AT THE SUN. Old folks in general are sensitive to light, can be medical reasons. Also, DRUGS, REALLY GOOD DRUGS can dilate the pupils. That's why Joe is often by himself when on camera, they can up the exposure and dim the lights so he doesn't have the squints. Have we *ever* had a president that wears sunglasses - not just so often, but AT ALL? I say never.

Problem with comparing different countries at different latitudes is it's a moving target, with geographic and seasonal patterns. Many "skeptics" forget this when comparing different places, which is unimpressive.
But unless things change substantially, the patterns evident already last year were not going to show any correlation between "policies", income levels, state of medical care, etc., and mortality outcomes. There will be big variations, but those are almost certainly due to other unknown things.

The original smallpox innoculations were done in the USA during an epidemic that killed more American soldiers than King George's soldiers. Usually immunizations were done after an epidemic in the old days, or between epidemics, because the ability to develop a vaccine wasn't fast enough. There's only one difference that matters.
Smallpox vaccine was an actual vaccine that immunized the vaccinated from getting smallpox.
The "COVID vaccine" is not actually a vaccine, since it does not immunize anyone against getting SARS-CoV-2/COVID.
The Right is utterly failing on this basic fact. Everyone I see on the Right is using the Left's language. These are not vaccines. Stop calling them vaccines. Start waking people up to the fact that these are nothing more than experimental gene therapy shots that do NOT prevent infection and do NOT prevent spread of SARS-CoV-2.
If the Right can't even make that basic point, then we lost this issue a long time ago.
