GAINZZZ: Sweetgreen CEO Cancelled for Pointing Out the Inconvenient Fact That Covid Can Be Beaten By Getting Into Shape

Hey, given that Biden's gone full fascist, why not also mandate exercise and diet regimes?

Fascists usually celebrate (or mandate) physical fitness, right?

Sweetgreen CEO Jonathan Neman caught controversy this week after a viral since-deleted LinkedIn post linked the severity of the coronavirus pandemic with high levels of obesity.

"[Seventy-eight percent] of hospitalizations due to COVID are Obese and Overweight people," Neman wrote Tuesday citing March data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). "Is there an underlying problem that perhaps we have not given enough attention to? Is there another way to think about how we tackle 'healthcare' by addressing the root cause?"

Neman went on to highlight COVID-19 as an endemic virus "here to stay for the foreseeable future."

"We cannot run away from it and no vaccine nor mask will save us (in full disclosure I am vaccinated and support others to get vaccinated)," Neman added. "Our best bet is to learn how to best live with it and focus on overall health vs preventing infection."

The salad giant's solution? Crack down on the junk food.

"What if we focused on the ROOT CAUSE and used this pandemic as a catalyst for creating a healthier future?" Neman wrote. "What if we made the food that is making us sick illegal? What if we taxed processed food and refined sugar to pay for the impact of the pandemic? What if we incentivized health?"

Whoa, he really is leaning into the fascism there.

Well, I don't agree with any of that.

But why doesn't Biden? He's fully fascist.

The answer, of course, is that imposing requirements on the overweight would be unpopular, because the overweight are not the sort of "distinct minority" that fascist regimes love to demonize and bully, but in fact a strong majority.

His solutions might sound like government overreach, but they're no more intrusive than vaccine mandates and draconian lockdowns that heralded societal self-destruction with the abdication of personal responsibility, all while glossing over the true pandemic that is obesity.

"We clearly have no problem with government overreach on how we live our lives all in the name of 'health,'" he wrote.

Neman however, was derided as "fat-phobic" and critics mocked the pricey salad chain for proposing Americans deal with the underlying issues that exacerbate the severity of COVID-19.

It's all a bit maddening watching obese people like Brian Stelter attempt to craft health policy in real time on Twitter, instead of just going for walks to shed their morbid excess weight.

Okay, so I'm going to turn this into a hybrid GAINZZZ/attacking obese liberals thread. I hope that the attacks on Goldberg, French, Stelter, and Co. help motivate you -- and motivate me -- to get some real GAINZZZ.

stelterrailsagainstunhealthypeople.png

Is Brian Stelter really railing against people who make poor health choices?

Well, there's some Big Ripe Low-Hangin' Balls Energy right there.

Sean Davis has further thoughts on health. And I don't think he's just talking about Brian Stelter.

seandavisonhealth.png

I think he's also talking about Jonah Goldberg, whose Hot Take on Biden's imposition of fascism boils down to, "He wouldn't have to impose fascism if you would just follow his orders without the fascism."

doafascism.png

jonahsameenergytomnichols.png

Yet another disgusting fatbody who has zero PLANZZZ to shed weight and mitigate his own covid risks, but he has lots and lots of "expert" advice for others:

Screenshot (457).png

Plus-sized effeminate propagandist Chris Cillizza -- the Tess Holliday of "fact-checking" -- also opines on what you should do to improve your health:

chrisciliazza.png

David French rushed to say he couldn't say it better than Jonah Goldberg, which lead Julie Kelly to offer some of her own physical health opinionating:

nevetrumpersfatweakandcowardly.png

Again: Pretty big balls on these obese clowns for guys who are so obviously low in testosterone.

So, I don't know about you, but I find anger to be a great motivator. I do not want to be like Jonah Goldberg, so I'll think of him as I get my GAINZZZ.

And I do need that motivation, because I have zero GAINZZZ this week. In fact, I have zero EFFORTZZZ. I can offer excuses -- I got poor sleep since last week and that begin to give me cold-like symptoms -- but everyone always has those excuses, don't they?

I will commit Coach Sean Davis' inspiring words about the massive imprint of Jonah Goldberg's fat ass in the couch to the GAINZZZ lobe of my brain.

Coach Davis is tough but fair.

Well, cruel but fair.

Well, cruel.

But cruel works.

How about you guys? I hope you did not follow my poor example and get zero GAINZZZ. Anyone have any inspiring GAINZZZ to report?

And any BOOKZZZ, MOVIEZZZ, or PROJECTZZZ to share?

On the contrary, Marketing and MSM have been normalizing obesity, whether it's putting fatties on the cover of women's magazines or making every catalog and ad include a younger Stacey Abrams-like model/actress, they are *embracing* obesity as the next customers/audience.

37 The WH has found a workaround for the 2a. OSHA has declared firearms a workplace health hazard. All federal employees are prohibited from owning firearms. All employers with more than 100 employees must ensure their employees are firearm free. If an employee is caught with a firearm at any time, for any reason, the employer will face $250,000 in fines.

I am becoming a bit dismayed at my own ability to lose the weight GAINZZZ from my family's vacation last month. Although its less than 5 pounds, I thought it would have been worked off by now, having returned to the normal routine, including the exercise regimen. Gonna have to do something to change things up, I guess.

And Jonah Landwhale and French Davidian can split the contents of the vaccine vile that I won't be taking between the two of them. I'm sure that additional amount will make up for their own sedentary Twitter lifestyles.

I would probably have rode, but the boot wouldn't fit in a stirrup and I figured don't push things with mount/dismounting.

This dumb foot injury not so much. It swells and gets tender, needs iced and elevated 3 times a day to keep it reasonable comfy. I'm in the 'laptop class' but I have got critters and acreage that won't take care of themselves so that does keep me from spiraling into becoming a total slug. I just have to fight the urge to stuff my face out of frustration with still having to baby the foot almost 4 weeks after it was stepped on.

243 This shriek of theirs that the vaccine is 90% effective. It is not, or at least not for very long, against alpha strain and it drops like a stone in short order for Delta.
The drop is steady and then falls off dramatically, and all along the vaccinated can catch and spread COVID. You are safer with a person who had COVID before than a person who never did and had two shots.

If they are willing to call this effective, I should think they would find naturally acquired immunity within the acceptable range. Many people defer vaccines for the present because they retain that immunity and it's pretty good. Fauci doesn't want to answer questions about it because the public health policy doen't make sense for those people.

248 qdpsteve: "I am seriously debating at this point if it's worth it to not have my normal 5-year colonoscopy, so that I don't have to submit to the jab, and take my chances with cancer."

Some anecdata for perspective. I had cancer. Went through surgery/chemo. "Proven" treatment that was and is the Gold Standard of care with decades of study (with modifications through experience) and not some experimental emergency process of novel provenance.

Left me with some scarring (who cares here) and peripheral neuropathy (you'll care here). No real discussion by the doctors about side-effects; just enough mention in passing to cover themselves legally with disclosure. So the after effects were real and lasting, life-altering.

So I'll be damned if I'm going to take some experimental concoction again because "experts" said it was the thing to do. Decisions are made with a balancing of concerns, and we have a proven, fraudulently operating government-powered apparatus dictating what's best for us/me from afar.

F*ck that.

271 I also think it's a mistake to confuse the collectivism of the Managed states with the collectivism of "Socialism". One of the expertise of the management class is to know that "socialism" sounds good. The Marxian disconnect with reality means that people are less equipped to actually get in the way of the managers.

I kind of accept that Leninism or Marxism, through "staged socialism", kind of *stumbled* into the collection of managers, managing the state. However, I find more and more modern "socialism" is simply a gloss for the managed state and pablum for the people.

They want, IMO, disoriented unrealistic people to go to sleep with visions of Marxist utopias. That promotes collectivism that they can manage.

They really are not for--at least in large part--the Marxian "dissolution of the state". Because then the people go unmanaged.

Just be glad if that's all you feel. Some of what's going on is that the full term hasn't arrived. It takes sometimes a couple years for side effects to show up. This has been proven the case and is why the FDA takes so long to approve such medicine.

But they short circuited the requirements and the producers cut off their control group so now no one can tell what's normal and what's not and how effective the shot is. And of course that was the reason why they cut off their control group.

I have x-rays at the end of the month.

At least my HMO is not requiring the jab for getting care. They did send an email that they may not allow un-jabbed visitors. I don't like that, if I'm in a car wreck I want my unjabbed family to be able to visit, advocate for me if needed.

326 I have a gainzzz question. I do strength training. It works well for me because I have fibromyalgia and lots of repetitions, such as the type performed in cardio, tends to injure me (increasing weakness, bursitis, strains).

Anyway, I read that strength training can cause aneurysms. Aneurysms would be tougher to recover from than bursitis.

First, am I really in danger? I lift weights heavy enough that I achieve muscle failure in around 45-90 seconds. I also visit a hot sauna 2-3 times per week, which dilates my blood vessels. I assume the blood vessel "workout" in the sauna helps build elasticity.

340 Hi Ace--
I've been thinking about your attempts to build up strength. The 100-pushup challenge may not be the right way to do it--it hasn't worked for me. Part of the problem is, I think, that in working up to 100 (if you aren't already there), leads to muscle breakdown when you're doing it every day. The muscle groups you want to work in pushups shouldn't be worked hard for more than three days a week.

One thing I have had better luck with is doing a pyramid build-up/build-down on pushups. I start with one pushup, then rest for 30 seconds or so. Then two pushups, then rest. Then three... and so on. It sounds stupid--except by the time I get to about seven or eight I'm feeling it. And by the time I finish seven, I've done 28.

Once you get to seven or eight and are feeling that the next set might be too much, start working down, one at a time, with the same rest between the steps. By the time I get down to two I'm just about broken, and sometimes collapse on the one. Do that, and you've done 49 pushups.

Do that twice a week. And see if you can add one every other week or so, so your peak is then at eight, then nine.

That should build up general strength and endurance

I've not heard of lifting per se causing aneurysms, and if you're going 45-90 seconds/set, and not holding your breath, I'd suspect you're not going so heavy as to raise your blood pressure unduly.

A protocol (named 4X) that's worked well for me is select a weight that you can get 15 reps with. Do ten reps, 1-2 seconds concentric, and 4-6 seconds eccentric each, finishing the 10 reps in 60 seconds (or a little more). Rest 40 seconds. Repeat 3 more times. If you get 10 reps on the last set, up the weight a bit the next time you workout.

my working theory is that weightlifting increases blood pressure momentarily during the lift, which is cool though because over the course of your lifting career, you've already stressed any weak spots so that they've been repaired by the time you're putting up enough weight to max out the system's pressure.

that's what happens, your heart is trying to cram blood into working muscles and that is high pressure

382 "The thought went through my mind today... what if they decide no SS benefits until you get the jab?? What if they suspend my husbands benefits as well?" ...

--

I have no doubt they may be looking at this. As the parent and co-guardian of our young adult son who has autism, his Department of Developmental Disorders coordinator has already inquired twice as to his status getting the vaccine. The husband and I both think that they may deny him benefits and possibly social security if he doesn't get the jab.

Keep in mind that the employment rate for adults with autism is about 5% and he will not likely be able to support himself, especially after we are gone. Factoring this against the myocarditis and pericarditis risks for young men in his age range puts us in an uncomfortable position at the moment.

Hard decisions are hard.

385 The most likely next step will be for Medicare to require all patients to be vaxxed to be able to receive medicare doctor visits.

I would think it would only require a rule change put out by the managers of Medicare. They make changes to what medicare will or won't do all the time without any say from Congress.

That's the one that scares me. SS was written quite a while ago and there are protections in it to prevent the money from being taken out of your bank account for anything except for payments to the Gov't.

Regular writs to seize bank accounts won't work so I would guess even the government can't fiddle with them legally.

Easier to cut off Medicare and would seem a rational reaction to the public esp. the rabid vaxxers.

House Democrats rebuffed Republican efforts Thursday to remove $200 million for the Presidio in the San Francisco district of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with one lawmaker declaring that she deserved "a little bit more" because of her hard work.

Rep. Steve Cohen, Tennessee Democrat, admitted during the House Natural Resources Committee's mark-up session that it sometimes seems that "Speaker Pelosi gets maybe a little bit more, and some of the leaders get a little bit more on some of these bills."

"Well, the truth is, they should," said Mr. Cohen. "If it weren't for her working 24/7, and she does, to keep this place going, we wouldn't be going. She does more for America than any other member, I would submit in this Congress, times 10. So I support the proposal," he said.

392 ...continuing on the Gainzzz thread, in addition to the pyramid model for endurance, you could after a few weeks try to switch to strength building. Try to find a pushup that is hard to do at eight or ten reps. (Put your legs up on 2-3 stairs so that you are a downward-facing plank when you do them, for example). Do three reps of eight to ten. On the third rep, do as many as you can before collapsing. Then you can add resistance by moving your legs up the steps, or perhaps placing one hand on a basketball (which destabliizes and forces more core muscles to work).

I highly recommend the Hallow app - great (short) saint stories, nighttime liturgy, sleep psalms, daily rosaries (chants, regular, with scripture readings) music, and the best - the Bible in a Year. Free (I think still) and always adding new content. A++++

Hey, biden wouldn't have been forced to do this if everyone would have taken a refugee into their house!

401 Look. I don't think I need the vaccjab, but if it means my job or I can't travel, making me less of a value to my employer, I'm going to get jabbed.

I doubt if it will kill me, it's the principle of submitting to slapstick tactics about as graceful as Lucille Ball on an assembly line. But I don't discount that right out.

However, if you're living under a government that will kill you by forcing a jab on you, then if you have any hope of anything better, forget the world. America was the best thing in it, but I "love America" far less these days.

It's really not that worth holding on to. I will pray for the patriots who want to fight, though.

Or maybe, it's more of that medical advice that seems to promote pasty, malnourished, sickly, weak people. Like cardio-only exercise, low fat/high carb diets, and sun-shunning rickets promoters.

I have found that even just the Lord's Prayer can have a beneficial effect. It is subtle. It's not a revelatory experience but it does provide some relief. The exact mechanism could be explained psychologically but I'll continue to believe that a plea to a higher force may contribute to an overall better world.

436 I have serious concerns about the long term effects of the COVID vaccines. I don't trust the people pushing it, and I am 100% against every tactic being used to push it, each day worse than the last.

I hope the vaccines turn out to be truly safe. I'm afraid that may not be the case.

I am against rounding undesirable people up in concentration camps. I see that many, many vaccinated people are wanting to do just that to the unvaccinated. They are doing literally just that in Australia.

If it turns out that the vaccinated are somehow hazardous to others, I will do my best to resist the urge to turn my back on them. I pray I'll be strong enough. I pray harder that my fears are unfounded.
