It is interesting to me how the coffin, sitting off to the side brings the story of the painting into focus. Without it, you've got two people and a dog resting, from who knows what.
I believe that "good" art is partially determined by how well the medium conveys the meaning. I've gone to art shows where a piece was accompanied by a page long explanation. To my mind that is not good art. This needs no explanation. I like it, though I would not hang it. Posted by: No One of Consequence at September 16, 2021 08:58 AM (CAJOC) 90

For those at the end of the prior thread wondering what a "spun testicle" was, there IS a code for that.
ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Code N44.00 Torsion of testis, unspecified WARNING: Do not continue reading if you own one or more testicles and are squeamish. Testicular torsion is the twisting of one or more testicles around it's stalk, which contains arterial and venous blood vessels and the spermatic duct. The resultant blockage of blood supply leads to excruciating pain, swelling and eventually (if not treated promptly) necrosis or tissue death of the involved testicle. A true medical emergency. "As a result of Galician poverty, Galician peasants were too malnourished to work properly, and had little immunity to diseases such as cholera, typhus, smallpox and syphilis. Stauter-Halsted describes a vicious circle in which Galician peasants worked "lethargically because [they were] inadequately nourished and [not living] better because [they] work too little." Frank quotes Szepanowski: "every resident of Galicia does one-quarter of a man's work and eats one-half of a man's food." The almost persistent famines in Galicia, resulting in 50,000 deaths a year, have been described as endemic. Many peasants were heavily in debt and had lost their land to the money-lenders. Most of those were Jewish, which led to resentment and growing anti-Semitism." Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh at September 16, 2021 09:17 AM (/U27+) 168

There can be no reasonable justification for flouting objective rules about mAb therapy and prophylaxix.
The huge f-ing irony is it works better, lasts longer and is less toxic and spares more serious adverse advents compared to the current crop of vaccines. He wants hospitals to say "oh, only these serious or high risk breakthrough cases can have it" - not that it isn't already being used for that purpose. There is enough to go around, so it's just trying to increase suffering to keep a narrative going. Getting people to vaccinate for vaccinations sake is not supposed to be the point. Sparing spread, risk, disease, hospital beds, the works is the only justification for any of the government interventions in delivery of care or modality of care. I know people who would actively cheer the death of peoplw who could be spared by prophylaxis or early treatment, as if this happening without vaccination is not only a bad thing but an outrage. Conservatives and (real) libertarians are off to the side screaming, "We told you this would happen!"
------- Sigh. That won't work, haha. This is one of the key advantages of demonizing you people for so long... We can say "we will never do X" when promoting policy Y, if X scares our base. So then, when we do X, we just do it to you guys *first*. And because our brainwashed constituents have been inculcated with hatred of you as their highest value, they'll full-throatedly support the X-action as the Right Thing To Do. By the time we do it to them, they've already morally justified their own persecution, and won't back down from that position. It works every time.
