The Quote of The Day

"Now more people from my unit have committed suicide than died in combat," the Iraq combat vet said. "It really kind of strips your humanity and soul away, war does."

The ONT Musical Interlude

On this day: 27 Jul 1958
Fan's of rock & roll music were warned that tuning into music on the car radio could cost you more money. Researchers from the Esso gas company said the rhythm of rock & roll could cause the driver to be foot heavy on the pedal, making them waste fuel. via thisdayinmusic.com

Feel free to name some great cruisin' songs............

Look at the ethical skeptic on Twitter and you see the curve for now and this time last year in Texas look very much alike, but offset by a bit.

Jesus come and heal our soldiers.

Surround them with family and friends and strangers that say the right words.

Fill them with the knowledge of your love for them and the understanding that every one of them is very special to you and that you mourn with them and will wipe each tear-stained eye and surround them with your comfort.

They served their country, they obeyed their orders, that the meek and the mild would not perish or suffer the wrath of ungodly tyrants. Lay a special hand of healing and protection on them.

58 Braynard project concludes 157K illegal ballots counted in WI (margin of "victory" was 1/8 that). Haven't looked at it, but usually Braynard examines ballot legitimacy based on available public info - people who are dead, no longer resident in a state, or under-age, for example, whose "votes" are counted.

Note: this is completely separate from any fraudulent tabulation, OR any post-tabulation manipulation or distortion - if either occurred. Three totally independent potential sources of error in official election results.

100 Ladyl - It was a three part problem;

1) My modem/router was physically destroyed during the lightening strike. That was what everyone, me too, concentrated on as we all could see it. Also, it was destroyed by a surge from the electrical power side, not the cable side.

2) The cable from outside into my house was destroyed also but it 'hid' a bit by vegetation covering the hole that was left after the dirt was blown away from the cable exploding.

3) A splitter was toasted inside the house. That took forever to diagnose because no one expected it. As I said, the cable itself was toasted and no one thought any surge got through it to cause damage downstream.

After the modem, cable and splitter were all replaced, all was well. Still though, it took a week because their service crews could not get to me.

113 So reviewing all the statements, lies, and hysteria from the CDC, Fauci, MSM... this is what I expect to see in the coming weeks:

Vaccines will prove to not be very effective, especial against the variants, which is the fault of the un-vaccinated (only the white ones) because science says so. Then it will be not just masks but lock-downs again and even more random, extreme measures to slow the spread. And plenty of hate for the un-vaxed for this tragic turn of events.

That's when the idea of camps for the un-vaxed start to to get thrown around. Or maybe house arrest until a solution can be found.

Great sentiment, but most of what modern Christianity teaches does NOT support a soldier. We have seen and done shit that civilians cannot imagine... We have been the tip of the Spear for God, in many areas of the World, but our ACTIONS do not fit with Civilian sentiments... and thus... we do not TALK about it... because we would get no support nor understanding.

My Father was a WW2 and Korea Navy Vet. The ONLY person in the family who has heard THOSE stories... was me... and only after I had been through Military shit meself.

I will do great and terrible things, to protect those I love... is NOT an acceptable sentiment today...

The part where the music drops out and Jonathan Richman bellows: "I said Roadrunner once!" (band crashes in: BA-DUM!) "Roadrunner twice!" (BA-DUM) I'm in love with rock and roll, and I'll be out all night..."

The way David Robinson rushes the beat on "...and I'll be out all night" just like an waiting-to-rev-it driver at a red light...man, it's so f'ing perfect. The whole song is such a perfect ode to driving, but that part is pure goosebumps.

No, this doesn't really tie into anything about road tunes. I suggest Ted Nugent (latin Atrocious sp. theodociius ) particularly "Hibernation", especially the studio version set down in wax during the Amboy Dukes era. His version of "Maybelline" is quite insane as well on the same album. Great version, and blistering solo.

I know of Mr. Ted and his oft-repeated assertions of "no drugs" during this time period, and I laud him for that in terms of role modeling, but, really, Ted?

I was taking care of my father almost full time a few years ago. I stopped going to the local library because they had stopped using the dewey decimal system, and I didn't have the time to deal with the mess that they had created. With the DDS, if I wanted a nonfiction book, I could look it up on the computer card catalogue and find the exact book I wanted within a couple minutes.

The way they changed it, you went to the shelf of books for that topic and you had to dig around for it. I had a two hour window of time to run errands while a healthcare worker was watching my father. I did have time to screw around, argued with a couple of librarians about "dumbing down" the library system, and stopped going there.

199 For troubled Veterans, it's pretty hard to beat the PTSD Foundation of the USA's program at Camp Home, in Houston, TX. Six month inpatient program. Utterly and absolutely free to the Vet. Includes new clothes, suits and accessories on "graduation". Substantial family support while the vet is in the program and on-campus.

Over a five year period, their suicide rate for graduates is.. ZERO. Flat out, 100% success. It's all Combat Vets who've been in the shit, helping other Combat Vets who've been in the shit. No pretenders, there.

If you have a Vet you're worried about, kidnap his or her ass to Houston, and deliver them to Camp Hope, right rikki tik. And I'm serious about that kidnap shit, patience when suicide is an option is NOT a winning tactic.

"Now more people from my unit have committed suicide than died in combat," the Iraq combat vet said. "It really kind of strips your humanity and soul away, war does."

Step one: Get rid of this all ranks club bullshit. Go back to a soldiers cluv, a NCO club and an officers club.
Looking out for each other begins with your peers. You come back from combat, the last thing you want to do is go to the "club" for dinner and watch your CO get drunk, or to be sitting there and not having to step in when a couple of your troops get into a fight.

I have had a direct ancestor in every war America has had, since the French and Indian War (Except Viet Nam, Dad was too old, I was too young).

No Heroes. No Officers. They all served, did their duty, and came home. Not a single combat death in my direct lineage.

A Soldier is one who goes and does the damn job. He is the one who wins wars... not through Heroism, but though being more competent at killing, than the enemy. Heroes happen when someone screws up.

But, that is a very unpopular philosophy today, when we CELEBRATE those who did not duck fast enough... when we make victims out to be heroes.

.....

I completely understand your sentiment.

But I see different layers in it, friend.

You are willing to kill, but it is not your nature to want to kill. You are willing to risk your life against other men that kill, but it is not in human nature to gamble one's life.

This, you set aside your life to do what must be done. This IS laying down your life. You set aside comfort, peace, personal pursuits for your fellow man. And you have endured atrocity and hardship willingly and not at the point of a sword.

And what MisHum's article points out is that for many vets, though they come back from combat alive, the life that was laid down is never fully recovered. Bless you friend for all that you have done.

252 I have been on the task force dealing with suicide of soldiers on active duty, from a built environment standpoint. As it turns out, the data are cooked, somewhat. The number of suicides are commensurate with the general population OF THAT AGE GROUP and which lives alone, such as your average soldier on his or her first tour. I suspect this is not so true of those who have been deployed and dealt with the truly nasty stuff, but the numbers tend to be oversold by the hierarchy when the President is not Donald Trump.

I don't mean to minimize the risk, just that one never sees the statistics cleanly, just mostly anecdotes.

Mirrors my thoughts from L.E. days and applied self-defense in these stupid times. And it's also why I make a point of *never* claiming to be any kind of a Combat Vet. I was a one-hitch USAF cop, and then a couple years a civilian cop, after.. Saw my share of bloodshed and violence, caused a bit of it myself. But I've never "been in the shit" militarily, no matter the training for just such a thing. (USAF cops and Combat Engineers {Red Horse} are basically the AF's infantry, such as it is.) Similar to you, and my Dad *was* in Viet Nam, if you call USN nuclear sub service in the theater, that. He did earn a VN campaign ribbon though. And, I was too young for VN, but did enlist in time to get the OLD G.I. Bill.

You cannot see the shit we've seen, and not be changed by it.

My two older Sisters are here right now dealing with the fallout of my Moms death... and that very thing was brought home to me tonight at the supper table.

The still see me as the 14 year old Nerd with braces and glasses that they remember me as... partly because they cannot comprehend things that I have done, or scene, that changed me forever.

And that IS the problem. Most of the Psychologists 'treating' vets? are not COMBAT Vets themselves. So they have no frame of reference.

355 Okay, folks, here's the deal. Your pain is your own, and only you know how it affects you. You may have trauma from childhood abuse, or from adult abuse, or from seeing things that cannot be unseen, or from having done things of which you are not proud, or from serving your country, or from none of the above. It may or may not put dampers on parts of your soul. It may or may not drive you to do things you wish weren't happening. It may even take you somewhere from which you will not return.

It might be a chemical imbalance, or who knows what?

You do not have to deal with this alone, and please don't. If you don't feel you can burden your friends and family, there is plenty of help elsewhere. But for God's own sake, do not raise your hand against yourself, not now, not ever. That just gives the devil the upper hand, and we know for a fact that Jesus beats him, all the time, and every time. Walk with God, find a priest, find a therapist, get a dog, get out of your head and make it right again, or as right as you can.

And if that doesn't work, call me, dammit.

358 I will not presume to say I fully understand the complexity of the human psyche.

I will just say that in general all humans undergo trauma to some degree. For me and my siblings it was routine beatings as a toddler all the way up to puberty.

Does that compare to war? Absolutely not. But the human brain does not appear to comprehend things based on an objective scale, and it will develop a response regardless of the degree of trauma. For some, like myself, it is to have a great distrust of other people and a virulent hatred of unyielding, amoral authority.

My coping mechanism has been to laugh at it all and joke. For some it is to beat their own kids. Neither of those reactions brings about reconciliation, but one of the two is tenable. My hope for those that have seen atrocity far worse than mine and are not able to find a coping mechanism or are able to compartmentalize those traumas, that God himself would touch their lives, be it through the Holy Spirit or by crossing paths with someone like you Romeo13, that has seen it too and can help guide them back to a normal world.

370 Today is birthday of Captain Samuel Whittemore (born in 1694, died February 3, 1793). He was eighty years old when he became the oldest known colonial combatant in the American War of Independence.

"Whittemore was in his fields when he spotted an approaching British relief brigade under Earl Percy.
Whittemore loaded his musket and ambushed the British Grenadiers of the 47th Regiment of Foot from behind a nearby stone wall, killing one soldier. He then drew his dueling pistols, killed a second grenadier and mortally wounded a third. By the time Whittemore had fired his third shot, a British detachment had reached his position; Whittemore drew his sword and attacked.

He was subsequently shot in the face, bayoneted numerous times, and left for dead in a pool of blood. He was found by colonial forces, trying to load his musket to resume the fight. He was taken to Dr. Cotton Tufts of Medford, who perceived no hope for his survival. However, Whittemore recovered and lived another 18 years."

Thank you, in all sincerity this was and mostly is an easy country to want to serve.

I am not a hero, I am a small person of some service. The wife is a multiple tour vet who has taken fire. I helped her with her PTSD, and God knows she took care of my childhood PTSD with love, care, understanding and the encouragement to have the strength to seek help.

If you have hurts that will not abate, images that cannot fade, and thoughts that will not recede seek help.

We are all brothers and sisters from many different mothers and fathers and ALL of us as Americans are valuable.

No person should cede their dignity, or inner harmony to trauma from pride or a lack of support.

I'm sure that's true in your case. Not in everybody's. And not everyone knows how they will react under fire.

Remember that a lot of childhood trauma is the result of people who think their parents were June and Ward Cleaver. Normal is not the same for everyone.

More viral loads: AnalPundit has noticed this viral load business. Apparently, and I'm not going to wade through their crap statements, the CDC said something about, viral loads in vaccinated breakthrough cases being "equal" to unvaccinated viral loads (the reality is they are materially higher).

AnalPussyPundit noticed this. I think he's getting really skeered (well, most of the time he's probably cowering under his bed wearing 4 masks, I'd imagine, so he's even more skeered).

It occurred to him that if viral loads are equal, that would mean the vaccines are worthless. But we know that's not true, he says, we have Science! So, he reasons that this just means that the viral loads are equal in the nose and throat. Yeah, that's the ticket, he continues.

I'm laughing my ass off reading that.

380 Yeah, most don't know that one of the highest suicide risk groups?

Single White Males over 50.

Yeah, several years ago Science News ran an article about the epidemic of suicide in the military. They gave the rate for the general population (12.6 per 100,000), and then the rate for the military (18.7 per 100,000).

At the time (I don’t know what the exact numbers are today) men represented 78% of suicides in the United States. And men made up 85.5% of the military.

Do the numbers, and you get an 18.0 per 100,000 expected rate; 18.0 vs. 18.7 is probably margin-of-error, especially given the margins of error and population errors in the percentages I used for the calculation.

I understand where you are coming from but PTSD is a legitimate, diagnosable, paralyzing disorder. And we equally should not minimize it, despite the immature wailing from the "trigger" population.

I have no problem distinguishing my own trauma from the trauma of a fucking combat veteran but while I am not remotely equipped to experience it nor would I ever mock or belittle it, war is not the only kind of hell in this world.

But suicide is at the very bottom my list - I'm a practical person - but above it I still have to cross off alternatives like "tour America on a Harley" and "flee to New Zealand" (I think I may need to edit that one) and so many others before I get to the bottom.

Their results, however, showed a negative relationship between deployment and suicide. Their conclusion? “The association between deployment and suicide is not as simple as we expected.”

Only 44% tested positive for Covid before being admitted. The others came in for something else and were later determined to be Covid positive. Of that group, apparently 13% caught in *in the hospital*.

Oh, Bazooka bubble gum. I wasn't big on chewing gum, except for Chiclets, but I loved the minicomic that came with it. And later on, I spent a lot on "Space: 1999" trading cards. The gum that came with those was putrid; I began to throw it out as a matter of policy.

Wikipedia says that when he was running the library school at Columbia (and later at NYU) he insisted that prospective female students submit photos with their applications because, as he said, "You cannot polish a pumpkin."

If he were around today he'd be hitting up his students for nude selfies.

Any BLM riots would be given a pass again, as would millions of illegals walking into the country and then seeded into Red States in hopes of spreading COVID.

4.) As US Naval officer Melquiades explained, mandatory workplace vaccinations by the Feds and states are a backdoor way to do ideological cleansing of those ranks, since there is a huge overlap between being a Trump supporter and opposing the Jab Nazis.

We are in Psy-Op Land that few, even on our own side, can recognize and understand. Billions of dollars of research have been sunk into how to fuck with minds, make us angry, compliant, afraid, whatever they desire.

The media doesn't all deliver the same message in concert on a 24/7 basis just so Democrats can be elected over useless Republicans. Even if that was once the case, you don't create a behemoth like that and then not use it. Imagine what the monsters in history would have done with this kind of obedient media empire, and now try to imagine that it's not being done right now.

Psy-Ops don't have to work on everyone to be effective. But make no mistake, the directors are not flying by the seat of their pants.

Note the mutation here is the gamma variant, not the delta, and this was a breakout amongst gold miners.

The attack rate of the fully vaccinated was 60%, and 75% in the unvaccinated. The attack rate amongst the naturally immune was 0.

Now, download the appendix and look at the table showing the cycle counts (Ct). You'll see the infected vaccinated had very low cycle counts, some as low as 18. Normal values for this in the symptomatic unvaccinated would be around 28.

I saw the Beach Boys with Brian Wilson perform Pet Sounds. It was fun to hear and faithfully executed but time had clearly taken its toll.

The Beach Boys that were touring in the 1980s were a mind blow - that bounce beat and those exquisite songs had remarkable power. It is miracle the upper level at the Paramount in Seattle didn't shake itself loose from all the dancing in the seats.

Would I still recommend seeing them. Oh God yes. We are in the last years of hearing this music, which is rapidly gaining status equal to classical music performed live. And this applies even when the direction connection is now minimal.

584 >> The guy sounds like a complete idiot. If the story can be believed.

This guy would be real outlier, no matter what. But such outliers, "superspreaders" really do exist. A small number of people, for a given disease, for some reason become very efficient spreaders of the disease. They shed a shit ton of pathogens, much more so than normal.

Consider the basic reproduction number, R0, which is (initially) on average how many people will be infected by someone with the disease over. Ro = 2, means that on average, one infected person will infect two more.

In reality, that varies with the individual and you get a distribution. It follows a Poisson type distribution, where the Pareto principle (80/20 "rule", although that exact balance varies). Roughly, a majority of the infections are caused by a minority of the individuals.

A superspreader is defined as someone well on the tails, the 99th percentile of that distribution. One who infects a hell of lot of people compared to the mean R0 for the disease.

These superspreaders play a key role in the initial "seeding" of an outbreak.

Until January, I used to know the names of every member of the Cabinet in all administrations. Not any more.

After the installation of a senile racist puppet in the militarized capital of this country, I decided it's no use knowing names any more.

The entire political class, the justice system, and all bureucrats in the US administration conspired to deny the citizens of this country their elected leader. Knowing their names would imply they're somehow different grom each other. They aren't. They're all the same. Fuck them all.

I don't remember that much of our epic family vacations, but for some reason I remember this tune "Canadian Sunset", not by Andy Williams, this is the Hugo Winterhalter version. In the 60s and 70s adults listened to stuff more staid.

But ai remember this tune, being stuffed way back at the end of a station wagon and hauling ass seemingly forever across South Dakota or wherever. And feeling secure with a Mom and a Dad, and ... it's difficult to describe. Everything, in my world, for a moment anyway, was just right. Beautiful huge landscapes, landscapes the tune seemed to synchronize, and more cool tunes on the radio.

Back when America, at least the bulk of the American people, knew what was what, what was important.

I might be projecting my thinking, but I suspect a lot of people lost all respect for the entire healthcare industry (insuranxe, docyors, nurses, experts, associations, all of them). I know I did. As a result, a lot of people won't even bother with going to the doctor anymore. Would you trust a quack who actively denied HCQ to patients or encouraged St Floyd protests just to make Orange Man look bad?

Now that I know that the exploitation of coronavirus was a scam to put a party in power, and amost every member of the medical industry was a participant of such scam, I can no longer think of hospitals and doctors as lifesavers.

606 581, 591 - There is movement that started with real intent a few years ago to perform these terrific rock albums.

Another remarkable performance was hearing the Zombies perform the entire Odessey and Oracle album. The band came together minus one player that had passed and did a note perfect rendition of it live. I always enjoyed the album but it wasn't I heard it live that I came to internalize how good the songs are. Chances of hearing that again are low but go if you have the chance.

This music we all lived with is passing into the history books. Get out an hear it live while it can still be heard performed by those that wrote it. You will never regret that decision.

Those on Denninger's forum (and Denninger himself is saying "Ruin them!") have an interesting strategy for dealing with the coming employer mandates.

Make them fire you. And do it in numbers. If 20% of the workforce is gone, most businesses won't survive (this doesn't apply to govt. If 20% of those people quit, govt would improve, I'm certain).

It takes numbers and people willing to fight. (Why stand you here idle? Your brethren have taken the field!)

Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion (Mzdiz) at July 28, 2021 12:33 AM (Mzdiz)

608
So here's what you do when your employer starts mandating. First, don't ask, don't tell. Don't respond when they ask if you've been vaccinated. Hem and haw. Make them ask directly, have you had the Covid vaccine. Hem and haw there, and talk about HIPPA and private information and all that.

When they issue the mandate (take the jab or get fired), make them put that mandate policy in writing and give you a copy.

Now you say you'll have to have your lawyer go over that and advise you. Drag that out as long as you can. Talk about weighing your medical conditions and all that, benefit vs risk, etc, etc, and lots of lawyer consultations.

Drag it out. And finally, make them fire you, don't quit.

618 There are some "interesting" possibilities how this plays out.

All of them really really bad, at least in the short term. At best this is a government dumpster fire cluster fuck, on Acid.

It aort of looks like from out here in the cheap seats, that one possibility, is that the covid vaccines are making things worse, and further allow for "asymptomatic" spread. If you're sick, you stay home, right?

If you feel fine, you don't. But ... are still able to spread the lung rots. This sort of fits in with the now redacted "sources say" 6th paragraph in that link, and what everybody was warning about, and why the "experts" are seemingly pulling that shit out of their ass as they go along.

Why discount the natural immunity conferred by having acquired Covid-19 and recovered? Why is this being expunged? Makes no sense. I'm not glad I acquired it, I never got "tested", but I was pretty sick for a while. I did think I was gonna die at one point, more or less. I suspect a vaccine might finish the job, frankly. Maybe a "variant" or mutation will.

Maybe that's the plan, we're all dead (either way) anyway? Nothing would surprise me at this point. Shocked, not surprised.

So we can cross off other logical explanations that might account for any confusion on my part, ie I am not stupid, I don't have a low attention span.

Don't depend on Hippa to protect you here. The game that is being played is people are asked to "voluntarily" to give that protection and just like that Hippa goes out the door. Of course "voluntarily" here means you get to keep your job or you don't have to wear a face mask.

In New Mexico this is happening to HS students. If you want to not wear a mask you have to give up proof of vaccine status. Part of the deal here is your voluntary release of medical information includes having and ID around your neck showing your are vaccinated. Of course the students who don't do this will have an ID without the special marker and will have to wear a face mask. This will not work out well.

Everybody should start pitching a fit in the name of safety that one entire medical history needs to be on display. It equitable after all. That will monkey wrench things up

So I think its Rule of Law or bust for him. If the Rule of Law fails, it's game over for him and he retreats into a private life as we decline. Being generous to him (as he deserves) I *think* his logic is that if violence is needed to save the Republic, then the Republic is no longer worth saving.

I got ticketed for not wearing a seat belt. I said hell, I'm gonna make the gret-stet of Souf Carolina go the whole way and do a trial. I should've made a do a jury trial, but I took judge only. My intention was to make them go through the motions.

At the time, law was the Buford T's couldn't stop you on a seat belt violation alone. They could ticket you for that if they stopped you for something else. Buford Ts set up a seat belt check point.

So, I made the Buford T argue agin' me before deh Judge. I got to plead the 5th when Buford asked me "Wuz you a-wearin' you seat belt, Mr. Publius". But I fucked up with something else.

Judge ruled I didn't present no good evidence that Buford was a-violated, so he fined me right then and there.

662 How long will you take for unions to get an exception for a vaccine mandate for fed gov employees? It took just a week for Congress to exempt unions from Obamacare under the false narrative there would be a "brain drain".

The goons who are coming up with these ideas think they found a quick way to get rid of all Republicans in government, without thinking for a minute they are screwing their own allies in the process.

663 658 I did act as my own lawyer once. In my late 20s. And you know what they say about a fool for a client.

---
My story is somewhat different. I got a parking ticket in DT Seattle. I was like damn it. Then I looked at the ticket carefully and the cop wrote me up for being 3rd Ave W when I was on 3rd Ave plus the date was wrong. Slam dunk.

So I contested the whole thing in a timely manner, prepared all my brilliant arguments and exhibits and sat back waiting for a court date.

It never came. I finally went to the clerks of a some weeks later only to find they conveniently had no record of my contesting the ticket. The crappy part was you had to mail the ticket in which means unless you no proof unless you sent it certified with a signature verification. Of course I didn't do that. I am positive they City tossed my contest.

About this time the ticket went into collection. Hilarity ensued.

And before I crash, I'm remembering some more. The state AG did later rule that those seat-belt check points were indeed a violation of the law, and ordered them stopped.

But it's moot now, as seat belt violations are no primary offenses, meaning Buford T can stop you for them directly.

Lesson: At the time, I just wanted to make the state go through the motions, have to spend a little effort to extract that fine from me. But, if I'd hired a real lawyer, and one willing to fight this, he would've gotten a lot further than I could.

A real lawyer knows the game, what to say, and what to ask. Always remember that. It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong, it matters if you know the game.

I don't think there will be a revolution. I'm a former Marine, I can hit center mass at 500 yards and build IEDs in my sleep. And for 20 years I have checked my comfort with violent solutions on the word of those who advised that "violence is a last resort, use the Rule of Law first".

I ask Hoyt if she knows when that is, and she tries to ban me for being a "Paid Turkish Provocateur Troll" LOL but you have to give her points for creativity.

So no, based on my own experience, I don't see a revolution. Things will get worse, and people like Larry Correia will write very logical and valid excuses for why we won't act, and everyone will adjust to the whims of our marxist overlords.

That is so important - the human contact! My parents are in their 80's, and until covid, very active and social. The volunteered at the local sxinec museum (among other activities/volunteer kobs) which meant they were constantly learning new material, etc. . The isolation of the lockdowns harmed them, though. And what's the diff between areas of substantial transmission VS high transmission? Also, imagine having fan with the settings of "Low, Substantial and High" power. Confusing?

Was doing a lot of moving furniture and carrying..

I'm not a doc in real life, but I do portray one on AOS...

if you don't relieve arthritic issues w/ meds that help w/ inflammation you will have bigger problems on down the line as it causes deterioration. Your doc should hook you up w/ Meloxicam or something similar.

Simply offering some "learned life lessons", how lefty does that sound. Both Jules and I got the short end of the stick in the arthritis genetic lottery.

Detroit cops flee drive-by in progress they stumbled on.

742 My understanding of the Detroit clip is that the lads were engaged in a goodwill cultural exchange and the cops likely felt they could not in good conscience use cishetwipippo imperialist patriarchy to force compliance with alien to the lads values.

I am certain the blue car was simply lost on its way back from choir practice.

743 I'm on 'personal leave' from jerb. Used up all of fmla early in the year, now a month from end of 6 mo personal leave...

Hubby is "okay" but will continue to require constant supervision. He can get around, but only with walker or cane. There's *so much* he cannot handle on his own: cooking, personal care, remembering meds....

I may not be able to go back to wrk, unless we pay for in-home assistance. Well, why? Why pay someone (more than I make at wrk!!!) to "help out"? Why?

Eff it. My jerb is production: boring, repetitive, unrewarding. I had to use up ALL of pto/holiday before going on leave, so wouldn't be able to take off for his appts-- he cannot drive-- so what's the use?

I need medical ins. That's it, that's all, and I'm looking for alternatives. So I'm 29 and don't yet qualify for medicare. There are many other PT jerbs around tho. Of course, PT means *no ins*

I'm fooked, huh?

Set up an appointment w/ someone from your local Rep's office.

They'll help you explore your options.

Sorry to hear about your situation, there are jobs with benefits that are still technically part-time.

total fail: hit the gas, ram the shooter car on the driver side, engage w/ small arms, calling for back up and EMS, then render aid to prey, after attackers are neutralized. thin blue line my ass.

751 "Detroit cops flee drive-by in progress they stumbled on."

Looks they were shocked and caught flat-flooted. Hang on, Bill Kristol says they "re-oriented their position" and didn't "flee".

They did circle back to help the victim. Yay.

I think this will be elevated by departments affected by the Defund Police movement to broadcast that less $$ = poor training.

Although I can't say I blame them. The perp is of the Protected Class. If they interfered their house might have gotten firebombed by BLM protestors.
