Gallup: Biden Approval Rate Falls to 50%, the Lowest Yet

The honeymoon appears to be waning.
"President Biden‘s latest job approval rating of 50% is down from 56% in June. Before this month, his ratings had not shown meaningful variation during his time in office, and the current figure marks the lowest measured for him to date," reported a new Gallup poll released Friday.
"Currently, 90% of Democrats, 12% of Republicans and 48% of independents approve of the job Biden is doing. His ratings among Democrats and independents are the lowest to date among those groups. The new poll marks the first time he has less-than majority approval among independents," Gallup said.
"The new rating is from a July 6-21 Gallup poll, which also finds that 45% of U.S. adults disapprove of Biden's performance and 5% do not have an opinion," the pollster noted.

Meanwhile, Democrats -- overt Democrat operatives and covert ones in the media -- begin blame-shifting for an anticipated 2022 loss, saying that Republicans are rigging the election by imposing rules to improve vote confidence.

Interesting to not have a single Republican voice pushing back or even contextualizing in this. And interesting to cite the Brennan Center’s research without noting they’re a progressive dark money group.

Politico regurgitates the Democrats' "They're rigging the election" conspiracy theory even while ignoring their own reportage that people are sick of the Democrats' racial extremism.

Kaplan, [a Biden voter who is against CRT], set up meetings with state legislators and recruited people to meet with their school boards to discuss ethnic studies, is representative of Democrat-leaning or politically moderate suburbanites interviewed by POLITICO in six states, all but one of which were won by Biden. They are up in arms over their school systems' new equity initiatives, which they argue are costly and divisive, encouraging students to group themselves by race and take pro-activist stances. Proponents of the initiatives say they are a long-overdue step toward getting rid of systemic racism in the school system.
On the national level, Democrats have insisted that the brush fires over critical race theory -- which has become a political punching bag even for unrelated equity initiatives -- are largely the work of right-wing activists who willfully misrepresent what it means, and they blame Fox News for fanning parents' anger.

But those Democrats appear to be underestimating parents' anger in places where critical race theory is top of mind. Objections to new equity plans are not the sole province of conservatives but extend to many moderate and independent voters, according to POLITICO interviews with school board members, political operatives and activists in Democratic and left-leaning communities including the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.; Palm Beach County, Fla.; New York's Westchester County; Maricopa County covering Phoenix, Ariz.; and suburban Detroit.
Parents who are showing up to school board meetings and have helped launch a spate of recall elections say they are angry about a host of issues, including what they see as a myopic focus on diversity at school boards, ongoing frustration over a year of closed schools and school lesson plans that they say are becoming too progressive, too fast. While those complaints have often been branded in the media as "anti-critical race theory," the causes of the anger are varied, and are being ignored, parents say.

The stakes aren’t lost on Amanda Litman, founder of the Democratic organization Run for Something, which works to elect school board members and other local officials: "This is a perfect storm of something that can appeal to, or draw back in, some of the suburban parents that might have voted Republican in 2016, Democrat in 2018 and 2020, but could be drawn back to the Republican Party in 2022."

The parent -- who asked to not be named because of the heated politics in Novi -- said she has in the past voted for Democrats, but she considers her daughter’s ideas "radical." She and other parents formed an anonymous group to question the school board.
"Based on everything I have seen in the last year, starting with Covid, I cannot continue [voting for Democratic candidates] in good faith," she said.

Now, let's try to be accurate about it. Sure, it was bad under Carter but all of the rules for measuring have changed. Per Shadowstats, inflation is running at about 10% (using the pre-1985 rules). This will take a legislative change, which the Governor already vetoed. When the voters approved the measure in March to allow the Legislature to strip Wolf of his emergency powers, they did just that and reverted the election procedures to the pre-Covid laws.

As of right now, PA does not have no-excuse absentee ballots or the extended submission deadline. To change that, either a law has to be passed, or the Legislature would have to grant Wolf emergency powers again (when Hell freezes over).

I don't think anyone will end up in prison (well maybe those idiots who pulled the ballot from under the table on video in Georgia).

But the AZ SoS will most likely be out of a job in 2022, and there are going to be some strong new laws with defined penalties. So maybe next time people will be fined or go to jail.

Barnes other point was while the laws are on the book, the penalties for violation, and the remedies for candidates seeking redress are not legislatively defined. This is a big oversight that needs to be addressed. Making elections go into audits instead of recounts might be something that trends as a legal change.

Note that the French Revolution did not solve any of these problems, other than ridding themselves of a lot of royals who had previously existed off the back of the French peasantry. Not really until the Louisiana Territory was sold did the French get ever get bucks back into the coffers...I think the French found out in their conquests that the rest of Europe at the time was just as broke as they were.

I agree with this but postulate it goes even further back, to grade school. I used to think people matured and had a come to Jesus moment at a certain age. I thought that because the adults I knew the best acted that way. Now I realize that many never change. You can go back to childhood and they are who they said they were.

I also think that today--in most cases--there is very little interaction with people who are different than you.
I'm not talking race--more "class" if you will.

When I was in grammar school, my classes were made up of the children of lawyers, doctors, cops, firemen, small business owners and common laborers.
You learned to get along with all--without envy.
