  • Facebook is not killing people, says Facebook President Joe Biden. (CNBC)

With additional reporting by Journalists for Censorship representative Kara Swisher.

Facebook responded angrily to Biden's earlier remarks, with a company spokesperson insisting that Facebook's death toll for June had been the lowest in several years, and warning that the President's behaviour had been flagged as "problematic".

Anime of the day is Ryouko's Case File from 2008. It's a supernatural police procedural: Ryouko Yakushiji is a police officer specialising in weird and disturbing cases, the weirder and disturbinger the better.

It's a little like X Files if Mulder and Scully were a single character, but only a little because the supernatural events don't hide themselves conveniently away to allow room for skepticism. People go splat, quite publicly.

11 Turns out that somehow, if I leave Chrome open with my usual dozens of tabs, the fan on my video card gets stuck in idle mode. That means the temperature slowly ramps up to 90C, before the card slows its clock speed and it levels off.

If at that point I launch a graphics intensive app or game the fan still doesn't spin up, the video card hits 95C, and the computer shuts down.

But if I close Chrome entirely, the fan immediately goes into vacuum cleaner mode for a minute and the temperature drops back down to normal.

And the really fun thing is I have two of these systems, with identical specs, running the same versions of all the software, and only one of them does this.

Hard telling, you can probably override it with EVGA Precision X if you are running an Nvidia card.

I wish there were a scientific sounding term for "two identical builds used largely for the same purposes evolving on different lines."

I usually build three similar systems at a time when I build for the family the main living room build gets a slightly higher quality set of components.

They all evolve differently.

The uniParty was very strong from 2007. Remember, the FBI already ousted President Nixon. But total control was not achieved until 2020.

I would say that Trump's optimism, fight against corruption and focus on outgrowing systemic misappropriation was valid. But he had no allies except a group of outsiders that had no inside power. The spice must flow to insiders, notwithstanding the damage to a nation or civilization. So he, and now us, are obstacles to be eradicated.

135 That this happened at all is the shocking part:

@NPR
1/Sonia Gutierrez achieved her dream of becoming a reporter at her hometown news station KUSA 9News, but it came at a steep cost. If she wanted to cover immigration, she was told, she had to disclose her own immigration status on air, in every story.

2/ Gutierrez says she balked at the station's directive. She was told she could continue pitching stories about immigration but, she says, she found them subjected to more scrutiny than that given to other reporters.

3/ She was ousted from her job along with two other Latina journalists. One had pushed editors to involve Black and Latino colleagues in more decisions about news coverage. The other was dropped as she was recovering from a stroke. She had also pushed for better coverage.

5/ An NPR deep dive from

166 I thought this was a nice story about an intrepid young person from N.J., an 18 year old pilot flying a banner plane has mechanical difficulty and figures out a smart way to land his plane safely:

"The American Academy of Pediatrics is recommending

masks for children over two years of age."
Good lock keeping it on a three year old without duct tape. It's as if they have never met a real child.

And Fauci endorsed their idiocy.

169 The dirty little secret is in a fiat economy which ALL global currencies are now EVERY newly printed buck diminishes the value of prior economic momentum.

Its amazing just how little the average mouth breather understands basic economics.

171 I just saw an advertisement for a Caribbean island I'd never heard of before, called Saba, so I checked out the website. They are advertising a "gin and tonic" tasting day. Sounds like my kind of place.

174 CDC:

CDC recommends that Americans already in Saudi Arabia not make the pilgrimage. Mass gatherings, such as Hajj, can increase the risk of getting and spreading COVID-19 because it can be hard to practice physical distancing.

175 I'm getting around for light duty and because my being released was delayed, I'm further along on recovery (mainly the sternum knitting) than I would otherwise. I hope to be cleared for driving soon.

Prayers up for your continued recovery, Captain. Hope you have a good supply of coffee on hand. I've been reluctant to mention the name of "our" guy around here anymore since there's now a prominent ad banner here for another coffee guy. And there's been plenty of opportunity with the recent BRCC stuff.

How many people working cannot grasp "I am gonna hand out 300 bucks a month" to layabouts takes 300 bucks of purchasing power from workers.

181 Has anybody heard if they have emptied out those refrigerated trucks used as morgues? One would think that would be a good photo op for the MSM. Or maybe those were a figment of imagination like 95% of the bullshit crammed down our throats during the hoax.

Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. It gets tougher as we get older but we do have better healing products available.

But I know no one who has drank the amount of protein drinks they call for. I certainly don't that's crazy IMO. I'm trying, also w/ extra D3, C and Zinc.
