The Morning Report - 6/15/21

slavittwait.jpg

Good morning kids. Tuesday, and as usual, the assault on our sanity from all sides makes it difficult to zero in on one particular item. But then, you read something which crystallizes everything into a singularity that just makes your head explode.

"We denied the virus for too long under the Trump White House. There was too much squashing of dissent and playing on divisions." Andy Slavitt, a former White House [Chinese] COVID-19 response advisor, said on "CBS This Morning."

He added, "But I also think we need to look at one another and ask ourselves, 'What do we need to do better next time?' And in many respects, being able to sacrifice a little bit for one another to get through this and to save more lives is going to be essential. That's something that I think we could all have done better on."

"We?!" What's this "we" bullshit?! Slavitt and every other self-styled elitist and blood-sucking, power-mad apparatchik that's in with the in crowd in DC and leftist state houses got fatter, richer and even more drunk on a power spawned from the New Deal and metastasized during the Great Society that was already illegitimate and unconstitutional. But thanks to the pretext of a public health crisis that as we all know now was marginally more serious than seasonal flu and no more serious that SARS, MERS, ebola, hantavirus and chikungunya, was weaponized as the key to rigging the 2020 election and seizing absolute power, or as close as the Democrat/Globalist Left can get to it as never before.

Lest we forget, the illusion of this extinction-level public health crisis meant putting everything on hold for two weeks. . . which is now going on week 65. Not coincidentally, strangling the greatest economic boom in American history (now concluded) courtesy of President in Exile Donald Trump was intended to derail what would have been as close to a landslide victory as was possible given the modern electoral landscape. The "crisis" further eroded whatever flimsy election security already existed, and even then the saboteurs had to resort to last minute mass ballot dumps in six states to My Pillow the election. But I digress.

When this Chinese biological/psychological weapon was unleashed on us, Slavitt like every other mouthpiece for the globalists ripped into President Trump for supposedly not taking the spread of the virus seriously. This after Trump banned travel to and from China while schmucks like Malig-Nancy Pelosi, Bill DeBolshevik and others were exhorting people to go have dim sum in Chinatown and hug Chinese people as a response to Trump's alleged alarmism and xenophobia.

Meanwhile, recall that Slavitt was a key figure at CMS during the disastrous Obamacare website rollout while constantly being in the media spreading lies and falsehoods about the effort to repeal that fucking train wreck. So now, Slavitt is opening his pie-hole that us miserable, lumpenprole ingrates need to suffer more "next time." One almost gets the impression that he and the filthy Mongoloids in Beijing are already cooking up a next time just in time for 2022 and/or 2024. Or whenever they see there's a run on rope and lampposts at big box stores.

By some estimates, as much as 60% of small businesses in America were wiped out because of the lockdowns and are never going to reopen. And small business comprises, or at least used to comprise, the lion's share of the American economy. But of course Bezos, Buffett and Biden - representing Uncle Sugar - are there to turn what was the land of the free and the home of the brave into the land of the freebie and the home of the enslaved, as the State and its krony kapitalists become the world's largest company store where they will own you, cradle to early grave.

We haven't sacrificed enough. This motherfucking mutt. I'd like to rip Fauci's arms off and beat Slavitt to death with them. Rhetorically speaking.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

22 Write this down - the Globalists currently in charge, on both sides of the aisle - look back at WWII and want that again. They want the power to put America on a war footing, permanently. They believe, if they can just put America on a path of forced scarcity for a period of years, that they'll recreate the blind loyalty to Big Gub'Mint that was the hallmark of that generation.

This time - we'll live off rations to fight global or some other contrived bullshit. Thats their plan.

Doing this with NBC or ABC would illicit yawns for their national broadcasts, but Fox is desperately trying to appeal to the right, and only the right listens to Project Veritas.

He's a priest, JJ. Of the old, corrupt, imperial school. Doesn't this sound at all familiar? The powerful abbot telling the imprisoned mendicant that just a bit more mortification of the flesh - just a slightly tighter hair shirt, just a slightly sharper barb, just a slightly leaner diet - will end suffering and bring about the Kingdom here on Earth? That the world's continued suffering could be alleviated if not for his selfishness in refusing to suffer adequately to absolve man's sin?

This is no different. It's just a priestly class telling the beggars to suffer to bring about the utopia. If the utopia fails to emerge, it isn't his fault, nor the fault of the other priests. If it fails to emerge, it is *your* fault because you, in all your deplorable self-centered selfishness, were unwilling to make sufficient sacrifices to allow the world to realize it.

75 Because I live not too far from lovely Princeton-and it is a lovely town,-I somehow got subscribed without my doing so- to "Princeton Magazine." The picture on today's cover is Paul Krugman-and the title of the article in which he is interviewed is called, "Arguing with zombies".. Some of the questions asked are, "Why do farmers and blue collar workers continue to support Trump in spite of his economic policies which hurt them?" Take a guess at the answer?!!-"Race above all, Nothing in American politics makes sense without factoring in white peoples fear of people who look different." (Yes; I'm sure the people of Princeton who didn't vote for Trump have LOTS of contact with independent small farmers except at the farmers market where they don't talk about politics). Krugman also thinks, of course, that IF Democracy doesn't collapse in 2021, climate change is the biggest problem facing America. He did, however, say Amazon, Faceboook and Google are monopolies which threaten America so it wasn't a total washout. Oh, yes, he thinks Trumpism is illiberalism-a contempt for Democratic ideals. I couldn't stand reading anymore of the article, after that.

In Wikipedia parlance, "citation needed." Prove it, Krugman. I'll be interested to see the argument, because it appears to be counter to all facts and data available.

Under Trump, for the first time in *decades,* the working poor and lower middle class saw meaningful wage increases. For the first time in more than a generation, that group - the working man, the man the Left claims to love above all - did better in real terms. Under Trump. Under Trump, the working poor and lower middle got more money, saw the constant increases in medical costs checked somewhat (not nearly enough, but at least a tiny improvement), saw energy prices fall while energy employment increased, paid less in taxes and more.

Demonstrate your position, Krugman. Prove it. I'll wait.

Only if they can't paper over the defaults with more free money. That remains to be seen. They'll accept massive inflation that debases our capital base if it means their pals don't go bankrupt. The question in my mind is whether even that would work. I kind of don't think so. We've been doing that for more than a decade now, starting in earnest during the financial crisis and preceding that in the form of the artificial low-interest environment engineered after the Tech Wreck and 9/11. There are limits (there are *always* limits), but we don't know where they are.

When we find out, we know where the demons are. Once the Fed loses control of interest rates - where, regardless of what the prime funds rate is, the real rates become decoupled from the Fed's fiction - it's game over.

And I can certify that in almost 100% of the cases (and I'm not padding that observation for effect), they come from very deep blue states. WA, CA, NY, NJ, MN, MA, IL. In nearly every case. Yeah, yeah, it could be that they're all conservatives fleeing those s***holes, but it could be that they're not. It's very troubling.

Yeah, and here's my thing on this. As a rule, young people aren't at risk. There are corner cases - there are always exceptions - but in general young people are okay. Young, strong people are *really* okay.

So what's with mandating the new vaccines for young, strong people? They are at virtually no risk if they get the 'Vid, and at completely unknown risk if they get the vaccine. "Known risk that approaches zero" versus "unknown, unquantified risk" looks like easy math with an obvious solution to me...

There are two kinds of out-migrants from the hellholes:

Sure they largely stayed in their McMansions but...in return they got to "work" from home.

Quite a difference from the experiences of those that lost their businesses or spent a year confined to a small apartment in one of the big blue shitholes.

I've been advocating that in terms of "we are all in this together" we should have taxed government employees 100% and then shared the money earned with those that lost their jobs. Because "we are all in this together" right?

244 "a causal link to mRNA vaccines and heart inflammation issues has yet to be established, and health officials maintain the benefits of receiving the critical shot outweigh the risks."

It's untrue blanket statements like this which kill any semblance of vaccine credibility for many people. The benefits DO NOT outweigh the risks in almost all cases unless you are elderly and have very specific other complicating factors. In fact, they do not even have enough data to fully know the impact on common conditions like heart disease, stroke and certain cancers ( not to mention the impact on common medications associated with those conditions) to make that statement. Unusual coagulation, myocarditis and some of the other measured secondary effects have direct and often lethal implications for those specific conditions. Last night I spent some time advising a friend who was vexed about getting their children the vaccine on the statistics. That 12-17 was the lowest group in almost every category and the best group for recovery, even though they are also the lowest rate of infection. She was like, huh, I didn't know that. WTF am I telling people truths??

I think this is part of the reason the Dems aren't happy about the tax leak.

266 Here's a compromise I could get behind. Join me for a trip to Fantasy Land.

For every 0.1 percentage point CBO-estimated increase in tax collection, there must be a repeal of at least 1,000 regulations, with the post-repeal level acting as the regulatory ceiling for the subsequent decade. If you want a new regulation post-tax, you had to subtract a regulation to make room for it.

So take the "Patriot Tax." That would raise about $450 billion over five years, or $90 billion per year annualized. The federal inlay in 2019 was $3.46 trillion. This $90 billion would be 2.6% of the total, or an increase of 26 Regulation Points.

If you want this tax, go for it. But you have to strip 26,000 regulations out of the code in exchange. No one gets to use a tax increase as a regulatory investment.

Honestly I think the only way to handle this is to get back to Trump policies of full employment but much further. Kick out the illegals, end the H1Bs, and put restrictions on outsourcing and suddenly any American that wants to work will have a job and we can stop talking endlessly about taking care of the poor because we'll have allowed them to take care of themselves.

This *does* mean the costs of goods and services for, especially the upper middle class and rich, will go up. But...so what?

What a load of crap. This repeated calumny has to stop. The Allied theory was that winning the war as soon as possible would end the suffering the fastest. That's why Eisenhower tried to avoid capturing Paris until absolutely forced to do it. It became a logistical drain to feed the nearly starving city. The air corps did its best to avoided (as much as possible) bombing V1 sites because they felt bombing other facilities were more productive. This repeated lie, like the refugee boat from 1939, does nothing but fuel anger.

Dry heat is indeed more tolerable than damp heat, but the distinction vanishes after the mid-90s in my experience. Hotter than the high 90s is just damned hot, regardless of other factors.

Ugh. Hot here in my area this week, and my folks' A/C went out and is awaiting a part to get it fixed. Their HVAC company lent them a portable A/C for their bedroom, and I put my spare window unit in their dining room, but I'm going to encourage them to come stay with me if their outage goes on much longer. Losing A/C in summertime *sucks* in a really comprehensive way.

Posted by: Guy Smiley at June 15, 2021 07:55 AM (Bmy3R)

But it is. The notion of "rights" was perverted by the Enlightenment-era colonial Europeans. They recast the concept of "rights" as being a manifestation of nature, inherent to the human condition. They then codified this recasting further by declaring them "inalienable." They then imposed that interpretation on the structures they built.

The problem is that they were wrong in the first place. They misunderstood the problem and the world. Rights - such as they are - come not from Nature or from God, but from society itself. Society is the basis of all interpreted constructions. Rights come from Society, as do all physical parameters within which society operates. The loss of one "right" or the gain of another is not the machinations of some bearded sky wizard, it is the mechanical function of society itself. If society determines that "rights" need to change - or even vanish entirely - then society is right to enforce that outcome. Rights, like everything else, are merely a social construct. As the social fabric evolve, so do the constructs.

I'm not on board with the We Should Have Bombed Auschwitz school of thinking. It was a hell of a long distance there from England, it would have taken raid after raid to have a real effect, since "precision bombing" was anything but and the Nazis were very good at repairing their railroads after they were damaged.

ERCOT came to the rescue again by being completely unaware that there was practically no wind to spin the bird mashers in Texas. They also were completely unaware that so many thermal generators were down for maintenance (approx 8GW).

So in their typical Soviet fashion they told customers to use less product.

I think anyone who has lived in Texas for any period of time knows that with a High Pressure dome over the State (which is quite typical in the summer) it gets tremendously hot, humid and is absent wind.

Just go look at a home weather station and see high pressure and high humidity - you know that the grid will be in jeopardy. Fortunately I'm all generatored up.

I don't know the details - like how much of that 8 GW of capacity *must* be offline for critical maintenance - but if the authorities really just "didn't know" that they were taking gobs of infrastructure offline, and when, and have an alternate schedule in the event of other loss of capacity (for example, deferring maintenance where possible until the wind blows again, or something else to smooth out the disruption), then they all need to be summarily dismissed and never work again...

As I reported, USCP has 14,000+ hours of footage from January 6. A few lawmakers have access to the trove. Sen. Ron Johnson is one.

He's identified a slice of footage that showed people opening Capitol doors from the inside, letting hundreds in:

"The security footage...appeared to show the police officer gesturing toward the doors as these individuals walked past him. Once at the double doors, one of the five individuals pushed the left door's crash bar and this time, it opened." It had been locked moments before.

"At 2:34 p.m., as people began to enter through this door, the police officer who was in the vicinity of this door one minute earlier, walked into another hallway away from this door and out of the view of the security camera." More collapsing narrative:

Not at all. The ball bearing factories were key to shutting down German war efforts and in the end they did. Trains were key to moving materials quickly. But the Germans resorted to other delivery methods. This also leaves out the fact we were simultaneously attacking trains anyway and sabotaging the railways. One hesitation was intelligence on what the trains were carrying, which on some cases were POW's and other allied human cargo.

There's another factor in that and it is often overlooked. Targeting was nowhere near as good as take for granted today. Hitting rail infrastructure in a meaningful way that can't be quickly repaired is *hard.* Rail lines are small, bombs were imprecise, reconstruction was fairly doable. We struggled mightily to take out dams, and dams are *much* bigger targets than rail lines. "Precision bombing" during WWII wasn't. That's a major reason - beyond straight-up retribution for Coventry - why RAF Bomber Command decided to just raze Dresden entirely. The losses from "precision bombing" were high and the efficacy was low. Ditto for what we did to Japan.

429 Adolphs eastern adventure lost him the war.

Ironic - since that war was what everything was all about.

Stalin was telling his officers war against Germany was coming. Better in '43, as the declassified stuff said, but war was coming all the same. Hitler knew it was coming. Apparently - the only ones surprised were England, France, and Germany.

If Hitler stops with the Czechs - maybe trades that for Danzig ? I have no doubt the Soviets invade Poland first on the way to Berlin. Hitler and Stalin were not going to co-exist.

If Hitler hadn't bailed out Mussolini in the Balkans, he might have won anyway. The Soviets were grossly ineffective early in the War, and it wasn't until Zukhov - and a shit-ton of Lend/Lease - that they were able to throw away their armies into the meat grinder of German fire in a way that actually showed results. If Hitler hadn't shot his timeline to shit with his Balkan Diversion to bull Mussolini's nuts out the fire, he might have pulled it off anyway and occupied everything west of the Urals before winter ruined their advance and then bombed Magnitogorsk and Stalingrad into ruins over Winter.

We'll never know. I think Mussolini being such a fuckup was fairly important, though.

436 I don't know the details - like how much of that 8 GW of capacity *must* be offline for critical maintenance

Typically 3.6GW of thermal nameplate is off-line. The grid is also suffering from many generators not running at nameplate. ERCOT's response was to inquire about accessibility of fuel.

Two bills were signed into law w/r/t the February disruption. One was to winterize, the other was to rearrange deck chairs within ERCOT.

Its pretty damned clear that the current energy situation with ERCOT was designed by Kenneth Lay and ENRON to benefit ENRON's investment model. That and the absolutely foolish decision to use fickle wind when Texas sits on an ocean of black gold should have been priority.

But GOP has to do what GOP does. Whine and do nothing.

The "poorly" prepared Nazis, as you called them, invaded at least 2 countries in a matter of weeks on their way to Russia and crossed 1,000 miles deep into Russia before encountering real resistance: the weather.

Exactly. The former United States no longer has Rule of Law, but Rule of Man. This is evident in that General Flynn was to be jailed for doing his job, but masterminds at the CDC conspired with the Communist Chinese to murder millions of people and topple global economies - they get book deals and accolades.

If we learned anything from #cancelculture, its that our Enemies are perfectly fine with lynch mobs and street justice. We should take them up on their offer.

I tend to read differently than you and LeBron James - I read past the first few pages.

As the war waged on, the original trained soldiers died off and were replaced by anyone who can stand erect and breath. This was true of both Germany and Russia.

At the same time, the former United States was getting its manufacturing of war materiel in both quality and quantity into world dominion shape.

The John Birch Society has spent generations training and educating people, but their numbers are small and assholes like the late William Buckley did more for our enemies than they did for Conserving Conservatism.

460 It's a fact that Nazi use of trains and tracks to shuttle Jews to death camps put a significant strain on the Nazi war machine's ability to fight back as it retreated in late 1944.

There are captured communications proving that. So in a way Jewish deaths ...albeit civilians...contributed to Allied victory.

The USAAF bombed Monowitz, aka Auschwitz 3, which is only a few kilometers to the east of Birkenau - Auschwitz 2. In fact, some of the bombs dropped short and accidentally fell yards short of one of the crematoria. They have strike photos taken as the bombs were falling showing the baracks and the smokestacks.

They knew about the death factory and quite easily could have disrupted rail transportation just when the Nazis were about to wipe out the last remaining mass population of Jews left untouched, the Hungarian Jews.

They didn't. And that was a conscious decision.

At the very least, when the Vrba-Wetzler report came out (two escapees who had detailed information about the killing process), plus all the Enigma decrypts, at the very least, SHAEF could have issued a joint communique without disclosing the details, condemning the extermination camps.

That would have cost nothing and done much. FYI, Hitler went to war particularly to annihilate Europe's and the world's Jews. So impeding that goal was or would have been within our war aims.
