EMT 6/12/21

Taking the little girl fishing today. It's her first time. Some wonder if she might be a bit squeamish about it all and I'm reminded of the lovely little song she made up watching deer graze our yard a couple years ago.

"Helllo-o little deer. You're very pret-ty. We want to eat you."

I think she'll be fine.

1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Saturday, June 12, 2021. On this day in 1994 Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were murdered outside Simpson's home in Los Angeles. Her estranged husband, O.J. Simpson was later charged with the murders, but was acquitted by a jury in a clear case of Jury Nullification because he was guilty as Hell.

think of the parties as sports teams. First of all, they have to come up with a coalition that gives them over 50 percent. If they don't have it, they will change anything to get over the snide. There i a reason they pay consultants so much, the key is you have to get over 50 percent.

For some reason Dems went against tobacco even though it was their home grown product, the thing that made many of them rich. They went for pot for votes and nothing else. Now tobacco is bad and pot is good if you are a Democrat. Same reason why Jews are bad and Palestinians are good. They divvy up the people like pixy stix. In the end, the well to do just have to assemble a group that gives them over 50 percent.

99 I'm also still unclear on how vaping is bad.

That's a joke. I know why. It's tax related, which is why the
people who tax stuff want to make vaping materials taxable as tobacco
products even though they contain no tobacco.

t's weird how they don't want to tax nicotine gum, isn't it?Posted by: Moron Robbie - Who would have imagined that Karmella stutters, too? at June 12, 2021 05:26 AM (KpdiX)
that is a deep dive. It comes down to control. The government wants to control tobacco, alcohol, and pot. Sure they want to control everything else too, if we will let them, they for sure would take control.
now for vapiing or the hugely growing "nicotine products". Many say they say they are tobacco free. Some say they are derived from nicotine. The reality is the government wants control, and there are many things involved with this that I doubt many understand. Why is nicorette a pharmeceutical and medicine, while vaping, using a nicotine pouuch, or snusing, something very different? It comes down to control in the end.

110 most government types would not know their heads from their asses. What they want is control, and they are not going to give it up lightly.

I will give you one example if you are so bored that you are willing to look it up. The E. U. banned Snus decades ago. They allow smoking like crazy, but ban snus. It doesn't matter that the nation of Sweden uses Snus heavily and many fewer Swedes smoke. It doesn't matter that Swedes have demonstrably lower incidences of lung cancer, and mouth cancer. It doesn't matter that they are lower on all values than other E.U. countries.

The E.U. banned Snus years ago out of hysteria that did not hold up. The facts show and have always shown that they are full of shit. But they still wont back down, they are too stubborn to back down. They don't care about reducing risk, they only care about their power even if they are hurting people. And please fact check me, I know I am right about this.

127 I could show you graphs and they would be astounding. I recall even int he USA when the press and people went ape shit over dipping tobacco. IT was in the late 1980s. Some poor kid died, he had dipped for a year or two and died of horrific mouth cancer. I feel for the guy and his family. But they have never been able to reproduce that effect. They sued and sued, and lost and lost. Show me people dying of mouth cancer after dipping for a few years.

again, I say don't do it, it is bad for you. But there is a reason even the USDA has decided to allow certain dipping tobaccos to proclaim themselves as less harmful than cigarettes. And snus has a history that shows it is less harmful than than the others. Again, check the reality for yourself. I in no way think someone should take up tobacco if they are not already a user. And if they are a user, quit, that is my advice.

For all the supposed prestige around Westminster, the Borzoi entry is 16. This happens more often than you would believe, and it's normally women. Drives my wife up a wall, she doesn't like the smell, but many, many other women do. And with all of them, it's because their dad or granddad smoked a pipe. The olfactory sense has a powerful connection to memory.
Anyway, I started smoking a pipe in Bosnia many years ago, I had been smoking cigars, and there was a First Sergeant there who smoked a pipe. He pointed out, I was spending several dollars a stick, and a quality bowl of pipe tobacco costs about .40 cents. That's still true for the most part, all of these do-gooder tax nazi's have pretty much left pipe tobacco alone.

I am not a big pipe smoker, but I do have all the acoutrements. I have my grand father's pipes, they have to be sixty or seventy years old. I haven't done it in a while but I do like the ritual of the thing. You can't rush a pipe, there are rituals you have to got through, learning a bit at a time. i do cherish my IM Conorna pipe lighter. Even if you give up on pipes, that is something you can use forever. you can use them for cigars or really anything. They come from Japan, and to be honest, at least back in the day, they were made to last forever. I can't think of a lighter i would prefer to that one. And it is designed for pipes.

186 there is a pic online that shows Walt Garrison, Earl Campbell, and some other guy. He looks like Charlie Daniels but that can't be right. I know at one time there were three guys , for each product. No doubt Earl went from Cope to Skoal depending on the plan. I recall when they were all .75 cents a tin. Now there are ten versions of Skoal and probably as many versions of Cope.

Personally I prefer the legit Swedish snus. But like I said, if you don't use tobacco, every day is the worst day to start. it does aggrivate me a bit that most people think chew is worse for your mouth and throat than cigs, when every bit of science has shown that is false over many decades.
None of it is good, not doubt there. But it is annoying people cling to stuff that makes them feel ok. Of course smokless has to be worse for your mouth and throat, because cigs are worse for your lungs. No, wrong, try again, it is simply false. Cigs are worse in all areas.

I think pretty much everywhere the taxes on cigarettes are too much of a cash cow to let go. I mean, they're highly addictive, they cause cancer, lawmakers ban smoking them pretty much everywhere, and tax the hell out of them (seriously, is there any product more heavily taxed?). Yet, they won't just outright ban them.

193 A Polish resident has uncovered what may be a previously undiscovered mass grave near the grounds of the notorious Auschwitz Nazi death camp.

Police and prosecutors in the country are now probing the find after the unidentified resident spotted some 12 human skulls and a number of other human bones along a bank of the Sola river, ABC News reported.

The gruesome discovery was made near the southern Polish town of Oswiecim when water levels of the river had run low, according to the report.

Police are probing if the remains are linked to the death camp, but a spokesperson for the Auschwitz Museum told ABC Friday that they were discovered outside of its perimeter.

More than a million people were killed at the camp during WWII, which was constructed by the Germans during The Holocaust.

Most of the people murdered at Auschwitz during the Holocaust were European Jews, but Russian soldiers, gypsies, German dissidents and others were also killed there by Adolf Hitlers troops.

pipe tobacco is way cheaper than premium cigars. it is a cheaper hobby by far unless you get into collecting pipes. A sad thing about pipe tobacco though. Most of these guys who do "English Blends" use famous tobaccos from around the world and don't go for using flavors, aka aromatics. To each there own there.
But the English blend guys got in a real bind a few years ago. They couldn't be sure to source real Perique, a tobacco that used to come from a couple of farms in LA. And also, real Latakia, a tobacco that came from Syria. There was a a time when the Syrian product seemed dead and it still is to this day, it will never be the same. Same with Perique, they changed the rules so more farmers can grow it. Is it the same? You tell me. Something changed and both tobaccos are not what they used to be.

Yeah, I'm not sure telling business owners that they had to ban smoking in their businesses because someone wanted to choose whether or not to visit their business and couldn't allow that to be part of the decision was the most traditionally American thing to do.

I get what you are saying, but I'm going to have to inject "Slippery Slope". We have gone from "You are killing me with your second hand smoke" to "mask up or you are killing grandma".

The point being, I don't think you want to normalize the Heckler's Veto, or for that matter any situation where a mob can demand cessation of something based merely on "I don't like it".

262 Americans had not issues with smoking for decades. Someone dips and someone will complain for some reason. I worked in a white collar corporate local and they did not care about dipping, i think it missed their radar. But there are bars that say "no dip cupps". Basically, people are shitbirds and they have no clue how to clean up after themselves.

But to compare cigs to pot is another world to me. you smoke pot, legal is half the states, and you leave a trail that crushes the area, the room you are in, the room you walk in, and anyone around. If for no other reason i would not use it. I would not not want to shame myself that way. I would not want kids who live in that area to have to walk through that stank. I didn't have to do it as a kid, why should these kids have to do it?

But the idea of banning smoking in a bar seemed ludicrous. I admit, after a year or so, smoking was banned in all restaurants. They were right there, I was wrong
But there are bars that allow smoking. I don't know the exact rules, they have fans, ventilators, whatever. And people who work there sign off that they want to do it. But make no mistake, there are many places where you can still have a drink and a smoke. If the libs have there way, it will be like Amsterdam "Coffee Houses" but only tobacco will be banned.

Lots of exhaust set ups have the pipe discharge directed down or at some angle to the bike centerline. Straight pipes though... a big twin at cruise RPM is pretty audible, and when you're rompin on the throttle to pass, they're very noticeable unless your deaf and even then you can feel it.

Before I got the new bike, the neighbors always knew when the scooter was warming up and I always had to keep the RPM low until I got out of the neighborhood.

325 Good luck. I stopped when the tobacco was no longer
what it used to be be. I liked the old English-style blends and they
seem to have gone extinct.

I am seeing that. It is weird. I am with you, even when talking to people in the business, they are not exactly pumped up. When the two major blending tobaccos really no longer exist as they once were, that is going to leave a mark. I recall liking the old "Vapers" as in Virginia Perique blends. I realize they changed Perique to allow many more farms to get in on it. I wont' say if that makes it better or worse. Historically, if you allow many more to make your famous product, that is not a good thing. If they allowed all of France to make Champagne, I doubt many would cheer. And regarding Latakia, from what I here, it simple can not be replaced.

Sad, but true.

This "Great Reset" and the hawt new Maoist Racism may seem to have come out of the blue for us but.

it's almost certainly been planned since Obama's Reign of Error, if not before. That's why Our Betters were so freaked out about Trump's victory(ies). Two terms had the possibility of undoing all their plans. Preezy Hillary was supposed to be heralding in all of this Biden nonsense 4 years ago.

my sister is on another level. I can't get into it because it is a world I do not know. i do know she has a bond with animals that is unusual. She would do English Equestrian competitions even as a kid. I dont' think I have ever rode in an English saddle once.

Field strip the butt and in your pocket. Formed that habit in HS because my junior year I was banned from the smoking area. My nemesis ( VP of discipline), had a John Holmes hard on for me, but I was a better JD than he was a sleuth.

The Dems run the same racket in every minority-heavy city. Congress appropriates money for poverty relief, low-income housing, job training, and so on, in Block Grants to a city. A Block Grant is simply a pile of money with no hard spending details. The theory is that local people - not Congress - know best how to spend the money in their city. That is a good theory, if the money is given to honest local officials who truly care about their constituents.

In real-life in Dem cities, the mayor or city council give inflated-cost contracts to their cronies, and find other ways to spread it around to make themselves and their pals rich - while the black and Hispanic neighborhoods keep going downhill no matter how much money Congress appropriates for poverty and minority assistance.
