4 Crazy police shooting out of Chicago.

Several police follow man of no description for three minutes on foot. Finally, two officers arrive in the man's path by car and disembark the vehicle. Cornered, the man of no describable qualities shoots two cops, then gets shot himself.

As two cops are rolling around in pain, the mob shows up to denounce the police.

Yes, the housing market is insane -- it's cloud cuckoo land. Is it bubble or inflation fear? Both, likely.

What is even more insane in terms of increases is the used car market. YoY price increase was 45% last month and 30% this month, with the latest CPI figures.

Smart money has always advised buying used cars (slightly used, really) over new. That equation has now changed, so much have used card prices increased.

25 The neighbors behind us both put in tall wooden fences. The yard directly behind us is shaped oddly and comes to a point, which means that the neighbor fence next to him also touches our back yard. And a neighbor on the other side did a fence too.

It's like a squirrel super highway out here. It was trickier when they ran across the chain link fence. But now they are everywhere. My springer would have gotten the one on the stump. He'd have jumped on top of it.

Been saying for a couple of weeks that it is a shame that we have no investigative reporters interested in the clear lack of new inventory.

Shrinkflation. And the way the idiot CPI data collection works, they miss a lot of that shrinkflation.

The cycle works like this, shrink, shrink, shrink until you reach a point where you can't shrink anymore. You then reset with "New Improved, 15% more", with the price going up 20% or something. You're back to where you started, and start the shrink cycle again.

I saw this one yesterday. There seems to be a common theme with these guys who are all gangsta, yelling "shoot me!" and when they get shot, they start screaming like the little girls they are.

Of course even with a buddy flat out in the field, and the other bad-ass cop shot in the hand tending to him the crowd who didn't see shit starts yelling at them. And this neighborhood looks like something out of Robocop.

I saw one news outlet show only one badge-cam where you can't quite see the guy draw just to paint this as yet another unarmed black man getting shot by cops. Don't think it worked.

95 Just wait until some variant of the Covid virus starts having an antibody disease enhancement effect with the vaccines.

We grafted a spike protein onto a common virus, to make it bust cells easier to start replicating. Then we gave over half the population a gene therapy to attack the spike. What could possibly go wrong ?

Our best bet - at this point - is this thing mutates, and it will - to be more fatal. So that it burns out quicker.

Minstrel + minor role: And the Lord spake, saying, First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out! Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.
Maynard: Amen.
King Arthur: Right. One... two... five!
Sir Galahad: Three, sir.
King Arthur: Three!

Warnock we can do good deeds-and should-regularly but Yes, Easter is about the victory of God in Jesus overcoming death. But then, Warnock is a progressive Christian. They tend to discount miracles.

If you want a laugh, watch some of the old "Highway Patrol" with Broderick Crawford episodes. MeTV runs them early in the morning now.

The shootout scenes are hilarious. They close in on the bad guys, and order them to come out, or the bad see them first. The bad guys start shooing willy nilly, and then Broderick Crawford pulls out his little snub nose and starts shooting from the hip. The other officers jerk their guns and you get an orgy of gunfire.

It's a hoot, cops firing willy nilly, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM!

Even some helicopter scenes. Broderick is in the chopper chasing some bad guys. They start shooting at the chopper, and Broderick pulls out his snub nose and returns fire from the chopper.

Some writer, can't remember who, made a strong argument that if Jesus was not actually divine, he was a dangerous psychopathic lunatic, and the Romans and Sanhedrin were right to take him out.

Basically, "I think he was a great moral leader, but not the son of God or anything" is an untenable position to take.

Yeah, Lewis. Basically his argument was that Jesus' claims were too outrageous and extreme to be just a great moral leader's. You'd have to go through the Bible like Thomas Jefferson and snip out all the bits you didn't like or were too supernatural to 'fix' Jesus, or you have to conclude he was who he said he was or a lunatic, or the worst sort of charlatan.

You can't really change peoples' minds about this. You can just say what you believe and hope an pray they will come to believe in the foundational truth of Christianity.

She's only in this country because she and her father lied about their identities, and pretended to be part of the Omar family (which they were not). The Omars had been granted refugee status, but Ilhan and her family were not qualified, so they just lied.

Then, after she gets here, she commits more immigration fraud by marrying her brother who went to the U.K. so that he could get a visa to go to college in the U.S.

Then there's the tax fraud, the adultery with a consultant on her payroll, the many, many lies she's told, etc.

She's an utter disgrace, and it is disgusting that this liar and cheater has been elected to any office of public trust. The voters in MN should hang their heads in shame.

And the 40x base rate minimizes it greatly, looks like. They used a 30 day window (how many expected cases of this in the normal population over a month, vs the number of cases in the vaccinated cohort).

The cases appear to occur in a 2 to 4 day window after the second shot. If you do it over the 4 day window, you get a hell of a higher number than 40x.

370 The thing about organized religion is that it's inherently a social construct, so the definition of membership is going to be some degree of whatever its adherents want it to be. And, realistically, most think a lot about the social half and not so much about the spiritual half ("I'm a Christian because I go to church on Christmas and Easter and sit/stand when they tell me to") which is going to greatly inform how they treat it. Hence why proglib types can espouse both a religious affiliation and various beliefs that are antithetical to the actual tenets of the said religion.

Toyota is apparently doing fine. The explanation is everyone adopted the Just in Time production, without factoring in the need to buy ahead on critical components that have single sources. Toyota invented the idea and bought ahead a stockpile of chips

Part of the problem is the tax codes that taxes components on your shelves but part is that whole trim it to the bone idea by CEOs trying to get that raise.
The supply chain is fooked and so are the companies dependent on it.

I'd argue that the 2010s were notably better than the 2000s. There was a blues rock revival, and several fresh takes on the metal genre. But the 2000s were a bit of a wasteland after the industry mined out everything it could from the Grunge Type Thing.

You're going to hate this answer: my house. I roast my own coffee.

What I can tell you is to look for a place that roasts their own. You should see the roaster in the shop.

Coffee tastes best within two weeks after roasting. That is very inconvenient for chains with centralized roasting, so they cover up. Someone at a Peets told me that the dates on their bags of beans are not the roast date, but the date when they opened the vacuum bag from the Central Roastery.

Download an image of Mint onto a thumb drive, boot your machine off the thumb drive, and give it a test drive. If you like it, you can install it in a separate partition of your hard drive, or nuke the old Windows, and do a clean install.

if this were a functioning first world country, well...we'd not be doing these things. But if we were a second world nation, these officials would be against the wall. Where'd it all go?

Maybe not import people from corrupt nations and put them in charge of local welfare funds.

521 467 450 I saw the Talking Heads before they got really big. Loved their albums, but they were only sort of OK in concert. The opening act was better, and it was the B-52s, so that tells you something.

Later they got amazing when playing live, and I missed it, because of that first experience. Annoying.
======
Just watch Stop Making Sense again. As a fan, that never gets old for me. Talking Heads also had some fun music videos later on. Those were fun, except "Road to Nowhere" which followed the song a little too closely. "Wild Wild Life" is a fun video with some great guest cameos.
