74 We had a lot of fields and dirt roads surrounding our street. It was supposed to eventually become a whole subdivision but only ended up being a couple of streets.

Fields, woods, dirt roads, lots of hills from the carving out of those dirt roads...heck it was a boy's dream playground. We didn't come in till dinnertime and then if it was still light out we went right back out.

Our old funland is now largely still wild, or at least wild-ish (the dirt roads are paved trails now). It's a "woodland ramble" attached to what is now a large park.

When the media (sensing a theme?) started pumping the theory that children were in danger everywhere, all the time.

The actual data shows that children are no more likely to be kidnapped now than at any time in the past 50 years or so. They just play up every incident for all it's worth.

But hat begs the question of "why." I agree, by the way, that they suppressed it because it worked. But that doesn't explain why they would do so. I doubt very much that it was because they'd rather have people die than not die. I do think, though, that it ties into the widespread corruption we always see.

If there is effective treatment, then Warp Speed doesn't happen, drug companies and their political patrons don't get the money, there's no EUA for new vaccines and so no distribution at taxpayer expense, no fast-tracking of desirable new technology like mRNA, no propaganda campaigns to get compliance, no new wedge issues to flog through the public, none of it.

I doubt most of them actually wanted piles of corpses as a primary goal, but I do think that absolutely no one - because of reasons relating to money and power and corruption and connections and the vast machinery of a corrupt state - wanted effective therapies.

The Covid 19 virus was the first stage of a bio-warfare attack by the Chinese and their "globalist" allies. The "vaccine" is the second step.
The actual demographics of people who died from having the virus and its effects were largely people over 70 years of age, with an array of co-morbities. And the vaccine (according to VAERS) has already killed 5,000 people (and that number is very likely under- reported), and very likely has been primarily people over 70 years of age (surprise?).

There were several, I think. Purportedly because they were afraid that a mass movement to take HCQ would deprive the people otherwise prescribed it from obtaining any.

Then, they ran a bunch of BS studies about HCQ that didn't also include use of the antibiotic in the study. Surprise, surprise, the studies found HCQ to be ineffective on its own.

The profit-making potential of the pandemic would not be undermined by a cheap, readily available treatment where there was no IP. That, and media was not about to undermine the political weapon the pandemic was to the democrats.

230 COVID is a novel respiratory virus. Had the governments of the world done absolutely nothing, the biological outcome would've been - maybe, and just maybe - somewhat worse, but certainly not world-shaking.

If it weren't COVID, it'd have been something. Who knows, global warming, gun crime, a computer virus, black mold, endangered swamp rats, whatever. If a nasty case of the sniffles would suffice, anything will. And believe me, this is not the last manufactured mass panic they'll create and exploit for power. No sense arguing with them about science, effective treatments or public policy. None of that is even a factor.

This was all just our post-Enlightenment despots swinging their dicks around, and no more than that.

What is his point here? The "Postmodern/symbolic world" is the world in which our institutions operate and the philosophy that underpins them. Their underpinnings not only permit things like genocide-scale slaughter of the identified enemy to achieve better social outcomes, they have a long and rich history of doing exactly that.

It isn't hyperbolic to say "That guy is a murderer and you should be extremely careful" when the guy is loudly proclaiming the fact that he is a murderer.

The left has got a big problem - "renewables", such as wind and solar, simply will not work to sustain a modern technological society. Germany's failed energiewende experiment has proven that beyond any shadow of doubt. (That's why they are now dependent on the good graces of Vladimir Putin to give them enough nat gas to keep the lights on)

So the left has split into two halves - those who have some remaining rational functions, and who realize that if they do away with oil and gas, nuclear is the only option - and the majority, who still thinks that electrical outlets are Magik!!! and the power will always be there no matter what stupid things they do.
