Tucker Carlson Blasts Frank Luntz and Kevin McCarthy For Self-Dealing

A few years ago, someone tipped me that Frank Luntz -- the "Republican" messaging guru -- was now all-in on propagandizing for leftwing notions about "global warming."

Last Friday, Tucker Carlson ripped Frank Luntz for both serving as an advisor to leftwing corporations that routinely act against conservatives' interests, and as an advisor to conservatives (or at least Republicans).

And whose advice to Republicans is almost always a variation of "Accept the demands of the leftwing establishment and the leftwing corporate oligarchy."

Of course Luntz propagandized in favor of OxyContin -- because all of the Grifter Pseudoright was taking money to shill for opioid pushers.

"Tucker Carlson Tonight" explores how the conservative think tank American Enterprise Institute (AEI) was paid to publish pro-oxycontin stories for Purdue Pharmaceuticals, leading in part to the massive public health crisis regarding opioids.

Say, an awful lot of "conservatives" on the Grifter Right are AEI "fellows," aren't they...?

Interestingly, Frank Luntz, a corporate liberal, is known to be close friends with Kevin McCarthy, a California cvck who routinely sells out to the left.

Last night Carlson updated his reporting to note that McCarthy is more than a "close friend" to Luntz -- he's Luntz's roommate.

After first denying that McCarthy has been living in Luntz's luxe penthouse apartment complex (more on that below), McCarthy's spokeswoman later told Carlson that yes, McCarthy does live in a room provided by Luntz, but pays "fair market value."

No evidence was provided to prove that he pays "fair market value," though it would be easy to provide cancelled checks to show how much rent he's paying.

Now, if Kevin McCarthy is underpaying for his rent, then he's in violation of ethics rules, which forbid Congressmen from accepting favors or gifts, which include transactions on terms favorable to the Congressmen.

Especially from interested parties -- which is a description of the corporate lobbyist Frank Luntz.

Do we know that Kevin McCarthy is paying sub-market rent and therefore accepting illegal gifts from Luntz?

No, we don't know that.

But given that Luntz's apartment is lavish and expensive, it's hard to imagine McCarthy is paying full freight.

Because Luntz doesn't live in just any apartment -- or an apartment, singular. He lives in one of the most expensive buildings in the DC area.

And he doesn't live in one apartment. He bought four apartments and connected them all to make one luxe 7000 square foot ultrasuite.

And Kevin McCarthy -- Luntz's pal -- presumably has almost full access to the whole place, and isn't just locked in his one bedroom. Luntz's place is of course not set up to have separate private rooms like an actual hotel is.'

So what is McCarthy paying in rent? And how does he know he's paying "fair market value"?

It's time to cut these corrupt corporate liberals out of the party. We have no choice. We cannot continue just praying the cancer we're infected with "gets better" on its own.

Note that the leftwing grifters -- such as this publisher of the grifter zine The Bulwark -- are all-in on defending Luntz:

Which should tell you something about Luntz, and his real role in the Republican Party.

It doesn't matter. I am going to go out on a limb because I don't know the DC real estate market, but in most markets "room to let" and "luxury accommodation" don't coincide. People with luxury pads don't rent out rooms, and someone looking to rent out a room isn't in the market for a luxury space.

In other words, I suspect that there is no definable "fair market value" for such an arrangement. As such, "fair market value" is "whatever Luntz says it is."

45 If you know the true nature of a thing - as simple as the correct answer to a question on a test - do you need to know the opinion of everyone else in the room ? Typically - I don't think you do. You certainly would not change an answer that you know is right - simply to reach consensus.

I suspect most politicians are the equivalent of 24/7 method actors. Polling and focus groups are their way of getting the script. They don't believe in much of anything other than finding the right script to act out in order to keep their job.

Finding: Senior Republican is self-dealing in what appears to be a corrupt arrangement with a lobbyist who, despite his claims of being a Republican specialist, agitates for left-wing corporations and causes. Both the lobbyist and the senior Party member assure everyone that everything is above-board and there's no conflict of interest.

"Everyone's" reaction: :: eye-roll :: Puh-leeze. I don't buy it for a minute. You're all a bunch of scoundrels.

Partisan hack's reaction: These are good men who are always honorable and above-board.

Based people's reaction: It's all bullshit. They're all weasels (no offense to our Moron weasel) and it also doesn't matter, because the fix is in across all dimensions. I hate the players, the game, referees, the sponsors and everything else about the fetid pile of compost that is American governance.

93 This has been an open secret in Washington for years. I'm shocked that Tucker Carlson was the very first person to make this more popularly known. Where was Hannity? Ingraham? Baier? We have absolutely no advocates on our side, and Fox has been playing us for fools for years.

Tucker also points out, without explicitly saying so, how to spot these grifters. Luntz is providing a 'service' to the GOP for one (presumably low) rate, and I gather that Luntz Global is charging GOOG, DAL, GE, etc, etc, a lot more money than that. If you want to know who his (or any political consultants') real clients are, know who is paying the bulk of the freight. Hint: it's not the GOP.

BTW, Newt Gingrich is close friends with Luntz, as well. I wonder what he has to say about all this.

95 Its not like Luntz lies to the GOP - as much as he just tells them what they want to hear. Be it the Tea Party or Trump, the GOP has proven time and again they just don't give a damn what the majority of their supporters think or want. If it wasn't Luntz, the party would just find someone else to feed them the bullshit they crave.

165 4 connected condos for 7k sq ft? Did the clown keep the floor plans the same? Does he have 4 kitchens? If not, that's a lot of modifications going on, and I wouldn't think an efficient use of funds.

A smart person (not what we're talking about here) would maybe connect 2, and rent the other 2. I mean, 3500 sq ft is a pretty decent size for 2 people. Or a family of 5 for that matter.

Why do I imagine that he's got some sort of Liberace closet, only instead of a wild variety of sequined suits, robes and capes he's got hundreds of the same damned red toupe? And he uses a segue to roll back and forth between the Cool Ranch and Zesty Cheddar Dorito rooms?

After about 3500 sq ft, the crazy factor starts going up exponentially. One of the largest properties I ever shot was a US VP of Adidas, and that was about 7k sq ft in Portola Valley. The place was insane. If I lived there I'd want roller skates to just get around. It was very uncomfortable as well, even with the staff (which had their own wing). It's just weird to have these hallways that go on forever and bedrooms every dozen or so yards. A warehouse is far less creepy (and more fun!).

I'd be willing to bet it wouldn't be a condo all linked together, and probably a contiguous space. With the condo, I'm sure you're stuck with a shit-ton of load bearing walls, so I'm guessing it's got at best some large game-room type spaces. Just think of how much wiring and plumbing would need to be removed/rerouted in something that was originally designed as a 17.5 sq ft 2-3 bed 2-2.5 bath condo?

And, it's hard to get 3-4 cars and half a dozen motorcycles on the top floor of a condo. Unless you got one of them Punisher style places with a commercial lift.

After the case got enough attention Crist loudly proclaimed his
intention to protect her. But it appears he was actually planning to
send her back to Ohio.

He seems kind of wormy.

Crist is a liar and a grifter. At his worst, Crist would still be preferable to the psycho pervert progressive who the Dems propped up against DeSantis, Gillum.

Tucker is a jabroni knuckle-dragger who doesn't get it that you might be close with a focus group consultant. Bruce Jenner seems like a nice enough chap - with a problem. He thinks he should have been a girl. He's not nuts enough to think he is a girl, but he's got enough of a mental issue to think he ought to be a girl, enough to alter his body and appearance to pretend to himself he is one.

We don't want people running a state with 21M people in it that think they ought to be a frog or a table or a carrot and then dress as one of those to make themselves feel better. It's the same mental disorder, just more common with gender than objects.
