I was looking for a clip of the opening credits for Dominion Tank Police that included this argument between the police chief and the mayor. I still haven't found such a clip - but I did find the full first episode, which starts with that argument and flows smoothly - a nice bit of directing here - into the story and the opening credits.

This lacks the musical sophistication of some of the other items - basically it's a Casio keyboard and vocals by Sharon from marketing - and yet it fits the show perfectly.

Anna Puma Enjoys the Spotlight Video of the Day

Disclaimer: Gotta wonder who cleans the drain in their shower with that much hair. Also how much they spend on shampoo.

2 Processors are great, but the mobo matter. Having a shitton of problems getting mellanox 100G cards to play nice.

Posted by: Jean at May 03, 2021 03:58 AM (Xih1H)

3 That can be a pain with any relatively uncommon device, though you'd think Mellanox would be sufficiently widespread in the server realm to be well-supported.

Meanwhile I'm just happy to have 10G on all our new servers at work. Some of our virtual servers are stuck at 100M, which is ridiculous in 2021.

5 Not sure what the issue is, seems to find one good mobo that works at 25G, but kernal panics at 100G. It might be because the Cicso TRex traffic generator software does some low-level shit to the kernal when it installs too.

7 That opening is the finest fisking of the whole Leftist drivel when it comes to crime.

Chief, "We knew the law creating the tank police was bad. But all I'm asking now is for you to support them!"

Since Uni-chan and I are androids, would we really need such as shampoo and no we don't cough up hairballs either. Nyah. Now other items to style might be another matter but I ain't talking.

9 Hiyooo, Pixy and my fellow oni-chan and nee-sans of the Anime familia! (mixing it up language wise, I'm loose and happy this morning)

Always a blast to see Tank Police for the awesome visuals, frenatic pacing and action and of course the Puma twins...damn good memories. Still, the OVAs are definitely a strange ride with the 1st saga being justified with the latter two episodes, especially with the adorable Napoleon mech's arrival.

Neverless, its the second saga that really gets to the philosophical aspect and takes the series into a higher respect range for me. Bauka's journey to find meaning of his origin and his truly abusive background brought me some truly heavy feelings in quite a sudden way that I never saw coming and always leave a beautiful sadness when thinking of the brutal yet beautiful world of Dominion.

12 Embedded BSD>BSD>Linux>Amiga OS>TiCalc>Piece of Paper and Pen>The Ground and A Stick>Any version of Window>MacOS.

Which is an amazing achievement by Apple since MacOS is mostly BSD.

Posted by: Pixy Misa at May 03, 2021 04:38 AM (MqQvv)

13 @12

MacOs is a modified BSD kernel wrapped in the best windows manager ever developed.

The main problem with Apple, and this has been going on for roughly 30 plus years, is that they use pro users to gain market share and credibility and then ram them up the ass.

Apple Management team: Hey, we're not going to do servers or SANS anymore, and we're going to stop, TODAY.

I used to always dismiss how D.C. is owned by big oil but how do you explain why everyone is willing to throw money at polluting the landscape with solar panels and windmills when we have vastly superior nuclear power. Illinois Gov Prickzter wants Illinois to be 100% running on renewable energy by 2050.
Because we have so much sun here year around. Not to mention I don't think there was any provisions for any type of battery storage for those cloudy and or windless days.

35 Not using nuclear power and its clean, dense energy is a crime against the Laws of Thermodynamics.

But you can get solar panels bolted onto your roof by someone that may or may not know what they're doing. I guess when it comes time for a new roof some other person who may not know what they are doing will need to remove and replace the system for you

Posted by: Bruce at May 03, 2021 05:25 AM (vd8XM)

36 Bruce

The thermodynamic box says low density power takes in more total energy than it saves. And is quite unreliable. Nuclear power, even with all the concrete, delivers more power than put into the construction.

40 Classical solar power, bolt panels to roof and all that is the ultimate in decentralized power since it only serves one user.

So instead the government and power companies want these huge solar farms that waste land and kill wildlife.

41 I wish nuclear was just a leftist thing but all I see in states controlled by Republicans is windmill farms and speeches on climate control.

But but but....You can sell the extra solar power juice on your roof to the 'lectric company.

Profit!

Posted by: Bruce at May 03, 2021 05:36 AM (vd8XM)

43 That requires you remaining hooked up to the power grid and having the power company know exactly how much energy you have. Who's to say there won't be a little extra special something in that smart meter to hijack everything?

46 @42

The other dirty little secret is that most states make it illegal to store any power generated by your solar panels in batteries and any excess power is mandated to be returned to the grid.

So, there's that.

After the elections there was some real momentum to bring down the GOP but six months later the same old mantra of electing better Republicans is pretty much universal. It's sad.

Posted by: lowandslow at May 03, 2021 05:48 AM (4thlk)

51 My solar panels on the shop are not connected to the grid and never will be. If I have extra electricity I just let I run out on the ground.
