The Saturday Night Joke

Two guys grow up together, but after college one moves to Georgia and the other to Texas. They agree to meet every ten years in Florida to play golf and catch up with each others stories.
At age 32 they meet, finish their round of golf and head for lunch.
"Where you wanna go?"
"Hooters."
"Why Hooters?"
"They have those servers with the big boobs, the tight shorts and the gorgeous legs."
"Perfect, you're on"
At age 42, they meet and play golf again
"Where you wanna go for lunch?"
"Hooters."
"Again? Why?"
"They have cold beer, big screen TVs, and side action on the games."
"Yeah, boy! Let's do it!"
At age 52 they meet and play again. "So, where you wanna go for lunch?"
"Hooters.
"Why?"
"The food is pretty good and there's plenty of parking."
"OK."
At age 62 they meet again.
After a round of golf, one says, "Where you wanna go?"
"Hooters."
"Why?"
"Wings are half price and the food isn't too spicy."
"Good choice"
At age 72 they meet again.
Once again, after a round of golf, one says, "Where shall we go for lunch?"
"Hooters."
"Why?"
"They have six handicapped parking spaces right by the door and they have senior discounts."
"Great choice."
At age 82 they meet and play again. "Where should we go for lunch?"
"Hooters."
"Why?"
"Because we've never been there before."
"OK, let's give it a try!"

Good news for our friends "down under". Alcohol going down in price.

Booze prices are set to tumble around Australia as alcohol producers are handed a tax cut to boost the hospitality sector's recovery.

Australian drinkers have long endured some of the most expensive pints in the world, with Perth ranking second only to Oslo, due to enormous taxes.

But on Saturday the federal government announced tax cuts of up to $250,000 a year for liquor producers hit by coronavirus.

Perhaps if we raised children to be self-sufficient and hardy these playground activities wouldn't be banned. Dangerous playground equipment? You decide.

With equipment that made a mockery of the universal conditions of gravity and physics, the schoolyards of the early 20th century were a treacherous labyrinth of concussion and contusion. Grandpa always said he was tough—but even if you don’t believe that he walked eight miles uphill in the snow to school every day, these vintage playground devices were truly perilous.

Perilous? Oh FFS.

Talk about perilous games and life style. When playing Xbox leave the drugs alone.

An inquest heard the night he died Simon and a friend stayed up until around midnight to play on an Xbox.

But his friend went upstairs to bed - and came down 11 hours later to find Simon.

The inquest heard he found Simon "still on the sofa, in a sitting position, still clutching the Xbox controller".

Paramedics and police were called to the property but he was pronounced dead at 12.15pm at his home in Loughor, Swansea.

Everything is race. Including a f*cking robotic dog.
New York City – Not even robots are sage from the anti-police crowd. In February, NYPD rolled out a futuristic robot dog after officers in the Bronx had responded to a hostage situation. The viral video sparked controversy from Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who then called it a “robotic surveillance ground drone,” while praising activists in her district who pushed back on the tech to demand that police funds should instead go toward investments like school counseling.

Once again she demonstrates her bra size exceeds her IQ.

The ONT Musical Interlude

On this day:1 May 1956
Johnny Cash released his classic song, 'I Walk the Line', which became his first No.1 Billboard country hit and remained on the charts for over 43 weeks, selling over 2 million copies. The unique chord progression for the song was inspired by backwards playback of guitar runs on Cash's tape recorder while he was in the Air Force stationed in Germany. via thisdayinmusic.com

Born on this day:1 May 1930
American blues musician, singer, and songwriter Little Walter. He was the first harp player to amplify his harmonica, giving it a distorted echoing sound. His virtuosity and musical innovations fundamentally altered many listeners' expectations of what was possible on blues harmonica. Walter died on February 15th 1968. via thisdayinmusic.com

I've driven a number of Toyota vehicles over the years. They company fleet vehicles and held up to the rigors of a company car. Maybe someday one of my company rides will have a hydrogen combustion engine.

Toyota is going racing with a hydrogen combustion engine, mainly as an experiment and continuation of Toyota’s somewhat unhinged obsession with hydrogen. Still, I think you will agree that it sounds good.

Which is to say that it sounds like a car:

Watching campfires is fun. Unless you're a Genius Award Winner.

ELKTON, MD (WBFF) - A woman is in custody with multiple arson-related charges following a house fire in Cecil County.

Just after 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Singerly Fire Company and surrounding fire departments responded to the unit block of Cherry Lane in Elkton for a reported house fire.

Witnesses reported observing a woman, later identified as Gail J. Metwally, 47 of Elkton, setting multiple fires within the home and then sitting in a chair on the front lawn, where she watched the fire engulf the home.

Crime has reportedly dropped in the city with police recovering nearly 500 illegal firearms from the street last year. Aqeela Sherills, head of the Newark Community Street Team, a group consisting of former offenders working to actively defuse violence in the city's most violent areas, said "This is significant."

Great joke MisHum.
Although I've read Hooters has not been doing well lately. A lot of their locations are closing.

Also, I was very turned off from eating there a number of years ago when there was a blog written by a waitress there, called "The Hooters Girl." Long story short: the waitresses pretty much don't like 95% of the men who come in.

Anna Miller's in Hawaii is apparently has a huge pervy following on account of the sort of dirndl uniform the waitresses wear. I suggested it to a friend when we were trying to come up with somewhere to eat, and she goofed on me about it, which was the first time I'd heard of that. I just thought they had really good breakfasts and pies.

146 since Twin Peaks was brought up, it reminds me of the Great Biker Shoot Out at the Twin Peaks in Waco, Texas about 4 years ago. There's another story that a real reporter who was interested in Investigative Reporting could have a hell of a time with - so of course no one will mention it now.

A recap - members of several Texas biker groups had a meetup at the Twin Peaks in Waco, a little over a couple hundred people. Shots broke out, several people were killed, nearly 200 people were arrested, it was supposed to be one of the biggest gang busts in history. But many of the men who arrested said that all of the police were in position with weapons drawn before anything happened; that it was the police who shot first, and that those few bikers that did fire back simply thought they were being attacked by persons unknown. They said it was all a setup from the start.

How it ended up - 1 biker stood trial, only 1. Result: Hung Jury. All of the other attorneys demanded discovery to see if the Police really had set them up. A new DA was elected, he came in, looked at the cases - and dropped every one. Unspoken agreement; no one will ever talk about this incident again.

257 Unless that was dezinformatsiya or incorrect, Red Bull fired its US top staff, nearly instantly, when they took small steps to join the corporate mob during the Rassismusgleichschaltung's paroxysm of mobbery last spring after the criminal trash in Mpls died of a drug overdose.

Have never touched the stuff, but for that alone, I salute them.

They also used to sponsor a cool MiG-21 jet and an aerobatic helicopter at airshows.

258 Thing about Hooters is, any given Texas High School Cheerleader is quite likely dressed more skimpily as she spins, twirls n' chirps. Hooters waitresses are damn near demure, in comparison.

Total lifetime visits to Hooters. Fewer than ten. Total lifetime visits to any kind of strip club. Fewer than ten. And the strip club tours were always in conjunction with either "out of town warriors" on business trips, bringing their unlimited expense accounts and "away from the flagpole" sense of liberation, *or* the typical Bachelor Party. Either way, I'd pay a dancer a $20 to pull up a chair and converse, and keep the others away from me. And after my 2nd beer, I'd say my howdies to the other guys, tip the same dancer another $10 or $20, and leave.

I'm not a prude about strip clubs. I've just never bought into the false promise they're all working so hard to sell.

This. The local Lions Club collects old playground equipment that the city or the school district is getting rid of and puts it back up at a park in Mt. View, which is the Anchorage equivalent of Compton, I guess. Anyway, going to that park is like revisiting my childhood. Nobody is dying there from playground equipment, but we need the NEW STUFF NOW for everywhere else. I don't get it. This "feelz" shit nowadays, that was boomers too. Remember that one day every year in the 70's when you were in elementary school that ILAC (I am Lovable And Capable)Day where they made you wear those gay as f*ck pins and you had to do that stupid f'ing chant if someone bullied/made fun of you, "I am lovable and capable" and being the little pricks we were ran around bullying people so they had to stand there in tears having to say that stupid saying.

Boomers=Bell Bottoms. They're responsible for that fashion f'ing disaster too. I remember crying my eyes out having to wear a pair that my grandmother (the greatest generation) bought me for Christmas to school. I remember being embarrassed because they gave me "elephant feet". Every summer my mom allowed me one pair of jeans to be "cut-offs". I remember grabbing those f'ing pants that I hid in my drawer and cut the legs right off. 404 Rochester was on the list of places I was considering while planning the Twin Cities Exodus. They didn't make the cut, obviously; looks like maybe I made the right decision.

Speaking of MN, here's some color commentary for my above statement regarding suburban fuckery. The increasingly donkified district that I moved away from is totally down with the struggle judging by their voting habits--as long as they struggle 15 miles away in New Mogadishu--but they voted out almost the entire city government for having the audacity to allow a property developer to build some apartments and *gasp* an Aldi. Why, a poor people store--muh house prices! Muh $400 HOA fees!

Bunch of clueless idiots. They have no idea what's coming this summer, and they did it to themselves. Oh, did I mention that the next burb over is putting the finishing touches on a new train line that goes straight* to Warzone Minneapolis? Buahahahahahaha. Enjoy the looting season, assholes.

430 420 My first concert would've been Blue Oyster Cult, but it got snowed out, in D.C., in March (1985). So my first concert was Oingo Boingo at the Del Mar race track.

431 Room 222 featured Karen Valentine.

She set an early, and seldom matched, High Standard of
bunkworthiness. Nah, wrong term. Beyond "bunk." A standard of the
form and figure of whom one imagines awakening with, on any given
morning. Lust, is entirely lacking in it's description of such a
yearning, goal and desire.
