They agree to meet every ten years in Florida to play golf and catch up with each others stories. At age 32 they meet, finish their round of golf and head for lunch. "Where you wanna go?" "Hooters." "Why Hooters?" "They have those servers with the big boobs, the tight shorts and the gorgeous legs." "Perfect, you're on" At age 42, they meet and play golf again "Where you wanna go for lunch?" "Hooters." "Again? Why?" "They have cold beer, big screen TVs, and side action on the games." "Yeah, boy! Let's do it!" At age 52 they meet and play again. "So, where you wanna go for lunch?" "Hooters. "Why?" "The food is pretty good and there's plenty of parking." "OK." At age 62 they meet again. After a round of golf, one says, "Where you wanna go?" "Hooters." "Why?" "Wings are half price and the food isn't too spicy." "Good choice" At age 72 they meet again. Once again, after a round of golf, one says, "Where shall we go for lunch?" "Hooters." "Why?" "They have six handicapped parking spaces right by the door and they have senior discounts." "Great choice." At age 82 they meet and play again. "Where should we go for lunch?" "Hooters." "Why?" "Because we've never been there before." "OK, let's give it a try!" Bad to the bone. And his driving skills aren't bad either.
Perhaps if we raised children to be self-sufficient and hardy these playground activities wouldn't be banned. Dangerous playground equipment? You decide. With equipment that made a mockery of the universal conditions of gravity and physics, the schoolyards of the early 20th century were a treacherous labyrinth of concussion and contusion. Grandpa always said he was tough—but even if you don’t believe that he walked eight miles uphill in the snow to school every day, these vintage playground devices were truly perilous. Perilous? Oh FFS. Talk about perilous games and life style. When playing Xbox leave the drugs alone. An inquest heard the night he died Simon and a friend stayed up until around midnight to play on an Xbox. But his friend went upstairs to bed - and came down 11 hours later to find Simon. The inquest heard he found Simon "still on the sofa, in a sitting position, still clutching the Xbox controller". Paramedics and police were called to the property but he was pronounced dead at 12.15pm at his home in Loughor, Swansea. New York City – Not even robots are sage from the anti-police crowd. In February, NYPD rolled out a futuristic robot dog after officers in the Bronx had responded to a hostage situation. The viral video sparked controversy from Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who then called it a “robotic surveillance ground drone,” while praising activists in her district who pushed back on the tech to demand that police funds should instead go toward investments like school counseling. Once again she demonstrates her bra size exceeds her IQ. On this day:1 May 1956 Born on this day:1 May 1930 I've driven a number of Toyota vehicles over the years. Crime has reportedly dropped in the city with police recovering nearly 500 illegal firearms from the street last year. Hey everybody. Hey ONT! Hey MisHum!
Great joke MisHum. Although I've read Hooters has not been doing well lately. A lot of their locations are closing. Also, I was very turned off from eating there a number of years ago when there was a blog written by a waitress there, called "The Hooters Girl." Long story short: the waitresses pretty much don't like 95% of the men who come in. Posted by: qdpsteve at May 01, 2021 09:18 PM (L2ZTs) 91
There's also Scottish related places now like Tilted Kilt. There's a place here called Molly MacPherson with mostly waitresses but not revealing attire. And I think chick's had a place to go to named Cocks or something. A bit too on the nose.
Posted by: banana Dream at May 01, 2021 09:11 PM (9G8ar) Anna Miller's in Hawaii is apparently has a huge pervy following on account of the sort of dirndl uniform the waitresses wear. I suggested it to a friend when we were trying to come up with somewhere to eat, and she goofed on me about it, which was the first time I'd heard of that. I just thought they had really good breakfasts and pies. Posted by: hogmartin at May 01, 2021 09:18 PM (t+qrx) Posted by: CrotchetyOldJarhead at May 01, 2021 09:19 PM (5XK0y) 93

since Twin Peaks was brought up, it reminds me of the Great Biker Shoot Out at the Twin Peaks in Waco, Texas about 4 years ago. There's another story that a real reporter who was interested in Investigative Reporting could have a hell of a time with - so of course no one will mention it now.
A recap - members of several Texas biker groups had a meetup at the Twin Peaks in Waco, a little over a couple hundred people. Shots broke out, several people were killed, nearly 200 people were arrested, it was supposed to be one of the biggest gang busts in history. But many of the men who arrested said that all of the police were in position with weapons drawn before anything happened; that it was the police who shot first, and that those few bikers that did fire back simply thought they were being attacked by persons unknown. They said it was all a setup from the start. How it ended up - 1 biker stood trial, only 1. Result: Hung Jury. All of the other attorneys demanded discovery to see if the Police really had set them up. A new DA was elected, he came in, looked at the cases - and dropped every one. Unspoken agreement; no one will ever talk about this incident again. Posted by: Tom Servo at May 01, 2021 09:33 PM (bxPTJ) 147

And there was a dirt pit at the bottom of the slide because so many kids had used the slides. Swinging on the swings was fun; you pumped yourself up as high as you could then jumped out at the top of the front swing. I don't remember breaking anything or hitting my head.

Thing about Hooters is, any given Texas High School Cheerleader is quite likely dressed more skimpily as she spins, twirls n' chirps. Hooters waitresses are damn near demure, in comparison.
Total lifetime visits to Hooters. Fewer than ten. Total lifetime visits to any kind of strip club. Fewer than ten. And the strip club tours were always in conjunction with either "out of town warriors" on business trips, bringing their unlimited expense accounts and "away from the flagpole" sense of liberation, *or* the typical Bachelor Party. Either way, I'd pay a dancer a $20 to pull up a chair and converse, and keep the others away from me. And after my 2nd beer, I'd say my howdies to the other guys, tip the same dancer another $10 or $20, and leave. I'm not a prude about strip clubs. I'm not sure about that play ground equipment being pussified....so to speak. Seesaws are boring nowadays is what my kids tell me. All the new playgrounds have zip lines replacing seesaws. And monkey bars are still being built along with some monkey bar style walkways that are essentially monkey bars turned on their side. Those look pretty freaky to me. Plus alot of new playgrounds have rock climbing walls.

Evening, ONT'ers. The Peon is back at home in Alberta. Getting through the border, Covid-wise was a cluster fuck, but I don't care to dwell on it now. The thousand-dollar Suburban never missed a beat, and we made it from Apache Junction to the Sweetgrass border crossing in about 30 hours of driving and downtime. It cost me $148 in fees and taxes to import it into Canada, but it paid for itself.
All is well here at stately Peon Manor, and the cat is happy to see me. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at May 02, 2021 12:24 AM (v007C) 375

Rochester was on the list of places I was considering while planning the Twin Cities Exodus. They didn't make the cut, obviously; looks like maybe I made the right decision.
Speaking of MN, here's some color commentary for my above statement regarding suburban fuckery. The increasingly donkified district that I moved away from is totally down with the struggle judging by their voting habits--as long as they struggle 15 miles away in New Mogadishu--but they voted out almost the entire city government for having the audacity to allow a property developer to build some apartments and *gasp* an Aldi. Why, a poor people store--muh house prices! Muh $400 HOA fees! Bunch of clueless idiots. They have no idea what's coming this summer, and they did it to themselves. Oh, did I mention that the next burb over is putting the finishing touches on a new train line that goes straight* to Warzone Minneapolis? Buahahahahahaha. Enjoy the looting season, assholes. *well, actually it takes a hilariously long detour around the old-money town between the two. Imagine that. Posted by: CppThis at May 02, 2021 12:49 AM (zcf1k) 405
