I've printed the vax card: https://tinyurl.com/nr8r65pf I used 110-lb. card stock, and printed it on both sides (flip on long edge), so the front and back line up. All I have to do is cut the card stock to 4 x 3. As for the fill-in data, I tweaked some of theirs, and ordered some return address labels, .66" x 1.75", and from Amazon a 5-pack of the clear protector/holders.
Once I decide on a date, I can then decide on a second date (28 days later, right?), and Robert will be your mother's brother.

We can, assuming enough capital to handle the build-out - but it would have to be fully independent. The upside to this is infrastructure control. The downside is that absent peering, nothing on the main internet would be accessible. That's the real problem. You can make your own network, but if you want to access the main internet, too, then you have to peer and use the common domain name system - and that's where the chokepoint is since the other Tier 1 peers will suffocate you out.

Maybe I read it too fast, didn't get the impression from Frank that Chiang was a genius of any sort. Got the impression that China was a mess, and that Chiang was one of the most successful at organizing/exploiting parts of that mess, for short periods of time, to oppose the Japanese.
I think the value of the book, for many, will be an appreciation of how central China was as a base cause of the Pacific War. Frank does a decent job of painting the picture of how China, and then Indo-China, along with the amazing dysfunction of Japanese leadership and system, put Japan where it was in 1941. Though to get a fuller appreciation of the internal dysfunction, readers really need to read Eri Hotta's "Japan 1941" as a companion book. An amazing story all in itself, and little known.
Other things I like about Frank's book are his insistence on recording the pattern of Japanese atrocities, his refusal to echo the shallow and incorrect conventional wisdom on Japanese-American internment, and his portrayal of British incompetence in Malaya and even Burma.

Read "War Without Mercy" by John Dower. It is the blueprint for "American warmaking against Imperial Japan was especially awful due to racial hatred." It's an interesting read. He builds his case and it looks sound at first glance because he includes *no* counter-examples of our propaganda treatment of the Germans, nor any general analysis of dehumanization during war, and he utterly ignores - loudly ignores, in fact - the American fondness for the Chinese that bordered (and still does) on a fetish. "Americans were particularly nasty to the Japanese because they hate the yellow man" doesn't square with the extremely powerful China Lobby so he essentially ignores it. At the same time, he ignores geography, construction methods and other factors that made blockade and aerial assault such effective weapons, along with ignoring technological limitations that made precision bombing essentially impossible.
Yet it is the guidebook for "America was awful to Japan because racism" argument.

Essentially, but there is an important distinction in the argument, and they use it to their advantage when blaming racism for the barbarism in the Pacific Theater. Their argument is not that we "went easy on Germany because they're white" but rather that we "went hard on Japan because they're non-white." It is a somewhat important difference, because it says something even worse about American motivations: that we were willing to fight the enemy harder and at greater cost *because* they weren't white.

HIPAA applies to healthcare providers, not to airlines, Walmarts, grocery stores, etc. I don't see how people think it applies to their neighbors or store owners. And if a neighbor, for example, knows your healthcare history, they can disclose it as much as they like unless they are a provider, an insurer with access to confidential information.

"White-adjacent" is below "white" but not yet as good as "white" according to the new rules of Critical Theory.
So in a hypothetical war where the main opposing belligerents were Japan and, say, Ethiopia, we would've been harder of Ethiopia because they're lower in the stack than Japan.
This is, of course, insane and the reality would have played out similarly all other things being equal because Ethiopia isn't an unapproachable island chain that is uniquely vulnerable to blockade and they don't build out of wood and paper, making them uniquely vulnerable to firebombing.
But in that counterfactual history, that is how the argument would play out regardless.

Sort of. They did surrender unconditionally, but with the expectation (reasonable, as it turns out) that we would allow them to maintain their imperial state. They accepted the Potsdam Declaration when the Emperor broadcast the statement of surrender.
But had they opened a back channel and demanded it as a condition, we likely would have permitted it. The Japanese are possibly the toughest enemy we have ever fought and the prospect of the costs of invasion through Winter of '45 into the Summer of '46 were borderline unpalatable and the fact that the postwar reality would be a partitioned Japan (the Soviets had landed on Hokkaido just before the surrender) made terms palatable.

Anybody can ask, and private companies will probably be grated the right to ask about your vax status in order for you to gain entry. You don't have to use their services. They may not even need a mandate. When some states stopped with the mask mandate, businesses were allowed to keep demanding it as a condition for entry. I'd love to see it shot down hard. When my former employer demanded the flus shot, some of us consulted an employment attorney about this and were told it was their right as a business to set policy. Unless you had a valid medical reason to not get it, you got the shot or left the job. Some people were fired. None were reinstated.

Mental health would probably fall under the ADA, but I suppose they could, in theory, demand flu shots, MMR and Pertussis. I don't agree with it, but I suppose it would be considered fair game if they can deny employment due to flu shots.

In ANH, they weren't too bad. The scene in the hangar as they escaped wasn't great. But, Luke wasn't gunning down 30 of them. In Empire, they looked competent. In Return, eh, Lucas at least showed some Ewoks getting killed.

Essentially, but there is an important distinction in the argument, and they use it to their advantage when blaming racism for the barbarism in the Pacific Theater. Their argument is not that we "went easy on Germany because they're white" but rather that we "went hard on Japan because they're non-white." It is a somewhat important difference, because it says something even worse about American motivations: that we were willing to fight the enemy harder and at greater cost *because* they weren't white.

I prefer the argument that we were hard on Japan because they were the first to attack us, without a declaration of war (as is their tradition, ask the Russians). And more importantly, they slaughtered a hell of a lot more people than the Nazis did, and did so using methods and savagery AS A MATTER OF NATIONAL POLICY that would make an Auschwitz death camp guard puke in disgust.
Two nukes and a slew of firebombed cities, and frankly Imperial Japan got off easy.

In this case, it would be fairly easy since there is zero evidence that Carano has ever expressed any Nazi or "white supremacist" inclinations. Also, Heitkamp laughed after saying it and said she supposed now she'd be sued for defamation, indicating she knew the statements ("She's a Nazi. She hangs out with white supremacists") were false when she said them.
Furthermore, in today's environment, those kinds of racialist slurs are so highly-charged (akin to crimes of moral turpitude) that they are arguably slander per se (and as such, so harmful to the slandered person's reputation that damages need not be proved, they are assumed).

This is very good to know. I asked my Dr. for a medical exemption letter since I was told not to get the available jabs under any circumstances. The drs office said that no one could require this legally and I didn't need a letter.
I guess a drs office doesn't know as much as a lawyer

It's supposed to make sure your medical data is secure and that personally identifiable information about you and your medical condition(s) are not compromised.
If Walmart or a neighbor wants to use HIPAA and PII information without your consent I think they'd run afoul of the law.

Akchewally Apple Corp had been suing Apple Computer almost nonstop from 1979 to 2007. The first lawsuit was trademark infringement. Apple computer paid out an undisclosed amount of money, and part of this settlement was based on the fact that Apple was a computer company, and would have NOTHING to do with music (and vice versa). Then, Apple included MIDI software (suit), then they added a chime startup sound called "Sosumi" ha ha ha (suit), *then* the iPod/iTunes store thing, which is when Apple Computer started winning (wonder why). I think the latter really was a blatant disregard of the original agreement, but the judge didn't see it that way. For some strange reason.
