The specifics mentioned a govt agency, cough NSA Bob, had the information. That would probably mean querying the intercept database of communications and then unmasking post hoc. Think they have 5 years or more intercepts waiting to be queried by a person or some sort of flagging program.
In reality, it is difficult to use these databases for predicting in advance terrorism because of limited computational time, the sheer number of people mouthing off on social media about violence (usually just keyboard commandoes), and then legal/social issues (profiling, etc.) but these databases are usually used after the event to attempt to determine motive.
Same as the police actually prevent very few crimes or catch them in progress (absent stings), they are there to clean up the mess, determine who did what to whom, and start the legal process. We would be better off becoming more like Israelis and taking matters into our own hands regarding personal security.

BTW horde, there are examples of shooters having backup. One was in a Walmart--the shooter entered the store with his gun displayed, and an armed citizen saw him pass, drew his gun and followed. The shooter had a wife about 20 yards behind him with her own gun; it was concealed in a purse and she was pushing a cart. She shot the armed citizen in the head before he could act.

Each different cartridge has a bit different best barrel length for a combination of reliability, muzzle blast, controllability, muzzle velocity of ammunition, and accuracy. You can convert a rifle to a pistol if you initially (or the mfg) built it as a rifle because you are actually making it less accurate in general. You cannot legally convert a pistol with a barrel shorter than 16 inches to a rifle without paying for an NFA stamp and the background check for an NFA item. There are some additional weird legal trickery involving overall length, welded or permanently pinned flash hider extenders, local and state laws, etc.

Be careful with that. I've always been told "Once a rifle, always a rifle" as far as the ATF is concerned. If you have a rifle that was sold on the ATF form as a rifle and that receiver finds it's way on a pistol you're asking for trouble. It's always best to build an AR pistol from a raw receiver or buying it as a pistol..

Lower receiver must have a pistol serial in order to go smaller than 16 inches on barrel length (unless there is a SBR tax stamp). Also no vertical fore grip on an AR pistol without a SBR tax stamp.

Actually, a lot of crusaders were the heirs, which became a bit of a problem, but also an opportunity for the church, since they'd put their lands under Church administration while they were away.

Actually some AR pistols are just as accurate as AR rifles. Depends on barrel twist, harmonics etc. I keyhole my .300 blackout pistol at 100 meters just as well as I key hole my 5.56 AR rifle at 100 meters.

I wonder how much of that is true and how much has been changed in the years since as a way to blast the Catholic Church. Probably a lot easier for the Protestants to paint Catholics as evil when you can make crusaders the villains. But, the common misconception is that the a bare lower is categorized as a rifle or pistol when bought. It is not on the form 4473--it is solely dependent on what you build with it first as to which rule applies.

I was citing the criteria where the ATF allows pistols of rifle caliber. The whole issue was based on gangsters and concealment, so a firearm that was concealable, such as a sawed off shotgun required a federal permit. Removing a stock from a rifle was another way that people concealed long arms. So, the ATF reasoned that something that would make a rifle generally less accurate (as a class) such as removing a stock and making it into a pistol (normally reduces the range, muzzle velocity, etc.)and supposedly firing it with one hand did not require a permit.
Making it short to conceal it did so the NFA is very concerned with barrel length and overall length if it has a stock on it as well as a foregrip.

The CBP is tied up so bad wiping illegal children's asses and noses they have stopped responding not just to citizen calls about illegals crossing their property but the state/local LEAs calls as well.

Yes and no, originally developed from a rifle round to a SMG round instead of using a pistol round. 8.5" or 11.3" depending. Mine is an 11.3". I won't be banging gongs a 500 meters with it, but it is the perfect PDW round. Someone dubbed it the Spicey .45 ACP.

LOL, maybe that's what they SAY, but I can assure you that these mags very much post-date the mag limits. Also, it's in stock, I believe, not manufactured date. These had not been sitting around for years. Hell, some of the designs were just completed in the last couple of years (drum mags, etc.)---well past the ban.
It's simply not enforced. They did a whole "investigatory journalism" piece on it a while back. I'll see if I can find it.

Even that "unassembled" garbage fully disappeared after the COVID lockdowns started (they were fading away after 2018. The stores outside of Denver to the west (four of which I frequent), just started selling OEM packaged mags.
