My main use for the TV is as a white noise generator. When I put on old tv shows I've seen dozens of times before, it distracts me just enough to keep me from thinking in bed, and then I doze off.
My main night-night shows are Just Shoot Me, Always Sunny, and Peep Show. Sometimes Seinfeld.
No knock on the shows. But i've seen them A LOT.

This is completely true. When I moved to the country in '98, I dragged with me an old Sanyo color TV, made with real vacuum tubes. It worked, too. There was an antenna there, and I hooked it up, but scarcely ever used it. Last time I turned it on was 9/11. A few months later, I felled the antenna pole like it was a dead tree, and dismantled the TV for parts. Have never had one since.

You notice how people are synchronized to all the big sporting events first, then the 'hype' around the latest movie releases, etc. etc. It's like women in a college dorm whose menstrual cycles synchronize once they've been around each other long enough, but on a societal scale.
The feeling once you get rid of TV is reminiscent of being redpilled.

Was it very difficult? You may remember that I wiped out the whole drives side of the grill and lightset on my 2004 Colorado when I murdered that deer a few weeks ago. The autobody places want $3600 to replace the front and the left front quarter panel. But I see that I can get an entire new grill assembly, lights and all, for under $300, so I am going to do that.

too. There was an antenna there, and I hooked it up, but scarcely ever
used it. Last time I turned it on was 9/11. A few months later, I felled
the antenna pole like it was a dead tree, and dismantled the TV for
parts. Have never had one since.

Eh...I don't know about all that. Movies were released on Fridays, and even after watching trailers, I was never one for watching every one ever made. I've known since ever in my neck of the woods that football comes on Sundays at 12 and 15, and basketball usually comes on at 1930 (but I haven't seen sports of any kind in a year). I essentially stopped watching TV around 30 years ago for a far more fundamental reason: most of what I saw on TV sucked. TV shows I have liked since then are very few and far between, and now I can just buy them for the iPad...IF I want.

IMDB streaming (and Amazon Prime) has the BBC's New Tricks which is grumpy old detectives solve old forgotten cases. Good combo of drama and comedy if you like police procedurals. Dad's Army is on Britbox and absolutely hilarious if you know a bit of WWII history.
Leverage is a pretty good series as well that is mostly apolitical but definitely anti-corporate. Couple of good episodes dealing with media and politicians too.

The picture tube made a great .22 target. Most of the smaller tubes went into "stock". Many of the smaller tubes in later TV's are so specialized that there is little other use for them.

The biggest issue is making sure you get all new 13mm uclips and bolts, the several different size plastic push pin and bumper retaining clips.
Also penetrating oil and solvent is must since every bolt will either be seized or rusted.
If you change out the bumper, make sure you get the bumper brackets, those are separate.
Also allowing yourself time, it's going to take the better part of an entire day to do it right.

I used to DVR the 3 Fox News talking heads every evening before The Steal, Hannity, Tucker, Laura.
After The Steal, maybe a week or two, I finally realized the network was as crooked and lying as any other Progda outlet. Sure, call me slow, I don't care.
Took off Laura and Hannity from the DVR, but kept Tucker. But after a couple of months of deleting it instead of even watching a couple of minutes, Tucker went, too.
I did start recording Tucker last night to watch the Gov Noem interview, just to judge for myself what others were saying. But fast forwarded, was disgusted by her amazing !Jeb routine, and Tucker is once again deleted.

Confederatefifth, to go .308, you would have to move up to the AR-10 or the POF hybrid with proprietary parts.
Big and heavy do quite nicely in the brush at typical woodlands distances. I would go .308 if distance was a concern or cost/availability of ammo. .308/7.62 has stayed in supply when others have evaporated.

That's odd, when i played baseball on a community team there were all sorts of anti-slaughter rules - 9 batters to an inning, etc. I was usually batting 9th and we had a decent team so I often was up with a force out at all 4 bases becuase I was the 9th. What fun!

I thought about building a .300 BO but realized that I already have a .30 Carbine which does pretty much the same thing, albeit cheaper. The BO shines if you shoot suppressed or short barrel pistols but otherwise is a short range round with marginal use in hunting. The .300 Hamr or its predecessor 7.62x40T (Wilson) had a bit more power and velocity, about like a .300 Savage.
Personally, in an AR, I prefer the 6.8 SPC or 6.5 Grendel depending on what the task is.
My major dislike for the BO is that it can be chambered and fired in a .223/5.56. This is particularly an issue if you form .223 brass to make your reloads.

And they need corrupt AG's and SOS at the state level to legitimize it all, like in Georgia and Michigan and Penn...take that down - and nationally, the Dems have nothing. They were smart, they learned from Tp O'Neil - all politics is local in the US - national government is the weakest form of government there is in a Republic.
