Had a guy attack me in my garage when we lived in Kentucky. Early spring maybe 40 degrees and he was in his pajama pants and barefoot. Came in the garage when I was working on my truck asking to use my phone and I told him to go away, he came at me. Shoved him away from me and hit him with a wrench and went into the house and called the Cops. Could of shot him and it would have been a legal shoot but I didn't. They got him 30 minutes later. It was drugs.

I imagine to some extent they are production limited, so increasing the amount would mean they can not ship as much to marginal markets. But I think mostly it is perception - they keep saying "bigger, better" because each time they do it bumps sales for a period. They can not keep making it bigger, since then it would be too big.
So they make the product smaller quietly, and then make it bigger with a big promo and sell a lot. Repeat over and over.
For the things that just keep getting smaller, they are stuff like salad dressing where consumption is driven by need - you have salad, and need dressing. Pringles are driven by availability - they exist, so I eat. when I run out I do not eat, but maybe I buy more if I notice again in shop. But salad dressing is different - I buy because I need, and I need because I hate vegetables and covering it with ranch makes it palatable. If they make the bottles smaller I will have to buy more.

This, right here, sir. I just wish the police killed that idiot - police officers can, and should, do as they damn well please. Americans must respect police officers, and if it means that the police kill millions of disgusting ungrateful citizens to get that point across, so be it. My brother's a cop, and I just find it appalling that cops are restrained my laws and the Constitution. That ain't right.

Yeah, good luck with that. Law enforcement attracts people who want to lord it over their fellow citizens. Sure, like anything else, there are people in those ranks who want to, and will do, the right thing. But they are increasingly few and far between.

As to them waiting outside, is entry/clearing being done from the other side? If you send multiple units in from multiple directions, you get crossfire. Clearing, as urgent as the situation is, needs to be done carefully and methodically and it looks fucking slow. But if you do it at a run, bad guy pops out and wastes the point man and now you have another body to drag.

you hear multiple shooters, however right that is, going in
individually is a losing game and drags out the fight. In 90% of active
shooters, they're done killing the people they want in the first five
minutes. Las Vegas, Pulse, so forth are the incredibly rare exceptions.
If they guy had a leg wound, they most likely cut his clothes off to put on a tourniquet.

if they had an officer shot responding, they were probably ordered to
hold at the doors until they could get ballistic shields up. Don't know
very many people who can crowd through a fatal funnel under fire. And
every centerfire rifle cartridge will go through standard body armor
unless it has specific (and heavy) rifle plates on it, and those only
cover a couple of square inches of chest/back. And even those are only
good for certain calibers.

yelled at a journalist. Unless they pummelled him and threw him in a
car, I'd say they have more important shit to do than make sure he's
safe. The new trend for bad guys (see Mumbai) is to have an intel guy
watching social media to see where the responders are showing up and
shoot or bomb there. Baddies nowadays are also planting surprises on
delay outside, so even behind cover there aren't a lot of safe spots.
