Andrew Cuomo Vows He Will Not Resign, But Will Fight... "Cancel Culture;"
Guy Who's Father Was a Governor and Who Married a Kennedy Claims "I'm Not Part of Any Political Club"

So, Cuomo did have a press conference. I couldn't find it. Seems that almost the entire media suppressed it.

As the Democratic Party turned sharply against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and he faces growing allegations of sexual harassment, he insisted Friday he wouldn't resign and castigated politicians calling for him to quit as "reckless and dangerous" and engaging in "cancel culture."

“I did not do what has been alleged. Period,” he said, again calling on the public to let ongoing investigations into his conduct to play out. "Wait for the facts."

"Politicians who don’t know a single fact but yet form a conclusion and an opinion are, in my opinion, reckless and dangerous," he added.

With a sprawling coalition of congressional leaders joining dozens of state lawmakers in calling for the embattled governor to step down, the Democrat hit back.

"You need to know the facts before you make a decision," he said. "People know the difference between playing politics, bowing to cancel culture and the truth."

Cuomo has denied he ever touched anyone inappropriately and has said he's sorry if he ever made anyone uncomfortable. He reiterated that Friday while insisting:
"I never harassed anyone. I never assaulted anyone. I never abused anyone."

But, he said, "what is being alleged simply did not happen."

CNN and MSNBC both embargoed the press conference with Governor Boyfriend.

This was free programming that is of high public and political interest, but CNN and MSNBC decided not to broadcast it.

They're actively fighting to make certain their viewers are ignorant of the actual news.

"Journalists" are the laziest people in America. When they stop avoiding work by doing more work -- yapping at the camera instead of just relaying the feed from Cuomo's press conference -- they are going the extra mile to keep their viewers stupid, afraid, ignorant and vicious.

Roll Me Away,
No possible way you can prepare for a crash. Think about it. There was a bad crash in the early 20s, before the big one. People had more financial "panics" and you would think that they could have made preparations in case there was another one. I don't think I've read about anyone doing that. People tend to think things will go on the way they are now. it's the only way you can make plans for the future. Buy tools, gain skills, pay down debt. Keep in mind people couldn't give away farms during the Great Depression. No money to pay taxes.

I disagree with this conclusion. The Left is now so dominant in government that the communists can finally take the time to destroy their non-commie opponents. Cuomo is done - they're out to get him and they will and they'll get one of their guys (whether Marxist or Maoist remains to be seen) in to replace him. Same with the other old-line Democrat gangsters. Schumer, Pelosi and the rest of the powerful gangsters are going down. Not in the same way, but they're finished. The commies won and they're consolidating power now. This may help the Trump base (Americans) to some degree by removing the possibility of the "some of the stuff they say is reasonable" argument, but it also means that their power is so ascendant that it doesn't matter.

Fun historical dichotomy there. Most people don't know that the most severe depression in American history (movement peak to trough) was the postwar depression of 1920-21. When that hit and started getting very bad, the new president (Harding) was lobbied extremely hard by his commerce secretary to intervene with industrial supports, unemployment support, loans, grants, etc.

Harding's VP (Coolidge) and treasury secretary (Mellon) dissuaded him and convinced him to let the malinvestment burn itself out (Mellonism). America's deepest depression also turned in to its shortest, and by the end of '21 things were starting to boom (the Fed did some jiggery-pokery, but it was fairly muted).

The name of that commerce secretary, the one who advocated for massive intervention? Herbert Hoover - the man who would finally get to implement his playbook almost a decade later in what would become America's longest depression. FDR doubled down on the bad ideas, but Hoover got the ball rolling.

Probably not. I mean Newman had to resort to chicanery to get revenge in Absence of Malice, that pretty much tells you what limits you have.

Even if the reporter was getting paid on the side to write softball article on say a dangerous pesticide, its probably still not actionable. It would have to be straight up fraud, like smoking is good for you, and even then the reporter would probably be able to argue at least that it was protected by 1st amendment. The press is like giving a drunken sailor, a credit card, bullhorn and loaded gun. It totally depends on whether the reporter is a happy drunk or not, and whether he fixates on something problematic or just falls asleep on a park bench.

The why is multifactorial. Its all of the above, plus, the establishment is signaling, by taking his head, that they can do that to anyone.

Power Consolidation move. Biden is a leadership black hole, leaving a power vacuum at the top. This creates instability and donks are lining up their shots at the Presidency. The string pullers want everyone to know that even though Biden is a zero, THEY are the one's really in charge and they can kill anyone (politically). To encourage the others so to speak. Kamala is an empty suit.

If they find him not guilty, the city will burn. If they find him guilty, the city will burn. They're hoping it burns less with a guilty verdict. Then by the time the appeals process slowly grinds its gears, they can let Chauvin off due to the obvious incompetence of his defense and politically-charged atmosphere of the trial (if they want to, anyway - or they can leave him locked up for copping while white or whatever).

My view is that we're seeing rule by coalition play out. So we see lots of favors being handed out but not the decisiveness associated with a single decision maker.
===
Agreed. I think what you are seeing is the Mafia analogy. There are factions that meet in counsel. The counsel gets unruly when there is not one clear power. The Cuomo hit, is in part, a move to demonstrate supreme power, and thereby consolidate the leadership of the counsel. Its not a full on mob war, but its calculated hit on a made man for public effect.

247 I have been trying to come up with a believable reason why the Democrat party would turn on Andrew Cuomo in this way and the only plausible explanation I can come up with is that the Democrats don't have any state Governors who have national presidential appeal. They need the Governor of New York to be a viable presidential candidate. And Cuomo ain't that. Also Joe Biden will most likely be literally non viable by 2024.

The only viable Democrat Candidates that they have are actually Republicans like Mitt Romney and what's his name the Governor of Maryland. But, they're not Democrats and they couldn't get elected as Democrats or as Republicans. So who have they got? The soon to be recalled, Gavin, we'll never be back to normal, Newsome?

The lieutenant Governor is Kathy Hochul, a youngish and well liked (in Democrat circles) former staffer for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. She's a woman, a non crazy Democrat and she has a strong connection to the "liberal establishment". Bingo!

They are trying to get rid of Cuomo because they know a GOP governor has skeletons in his closet and perhaps sexual transgression of his own.

I hear you brother. But it never works. You can literally see them thinking, thinking, spinning, spinning. Most of them are just repeating something they read - they never think it through. When they can't find a way out they start getting volcanically angry. At you, of course, never themselves. They'll say you are just trying to confuse the issue (always good for a laugh). My trick is to confront, without being confrontational. Use as few a words as possible. Get right to the point. Make them own it.

We need to lock them down. For their own good of course." They'll reluctantly agree. Then "Yep, we need to shut down that border with Mexico, for their own good.
