Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump Now Solicits Donations to the "Save America PAC," Which Promises to Support Only Real Conservatives and Oppose Mitch McConnell's RINOs![]() Trump attorneys sent a letter on March 5 requesting that the RNC "immediately cease and desist the unauthorized use of President Donald J. Trump's name, image, and/or likeness in all fundraising, persuasion, and/or issue speech." It was one of many cease-and-desist demands, which the Trump team sent to GOP committees including the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee. The attorney for the Grifting Oligarchs' Pawns ignored the cease-and-desist and asserted that they would continue to defraud people using the federal mail: The RNC "has every right to refer to public figures as it engages in core, First Amendment-protected political speech, and it will continue to do so in pursuit of these common goals," chief counsel Justin Riemer wrote in a letter sent Monday afternoon.Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell was proud to announce he was voting for Merrick Garland -- after doing everything he could to block Trump from firing James Comey and appointing his own favored nominees. ![]() Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Essentially, Trump is treating this as a hostile takeover in a business sense rather than a political action. It is as if he is a major stockholder that is upset at the direction GOP Inc. is going. The easiest way to expel current management is by drying up their funding and diverting those revenue streams (donations) to other places.
Essentially, the Techlords did this with the Democratic party after 2004, they set up outside organizations and direct funding and let the DNC shrivel. The counterpart of Karl Rove on the left was a guy named Bob Shrum who managed losing candidates in 8 presidential races either at the general or primary level and Bob's day was done with Kerry. And the entire disastrous farce depends not on Mitch's odious donors and behavior, or on "conservative inc.", but on the electorate that rewards them. Trump came in as a true outsider and stole the nomination, against well-funded machine hacks (pathetic ones, true, but still the point stands). How? Voters. But a "party" leadership that stands by and lets the last vestiges of decency and sanity and standards be trashed, as the Dems did throughout Trump's term, without real response, is obviously far past being useless and self-serving. Posted by: rhomboid at March 10, 2021 12:34 PM (OTzUX) 92

75 rhomboid, depends on state law in some cases, there is no public figure exception for example in GA and CA when a person's name and likeness are used to make money and those laws have been held as constitutional. The GA case involved Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and GA's expansive right to privacy protections. A grifter was selling plaster busts of MLK Jr. through an ad in Ebony and the family trust sued to make them stop. The grifter raised the public figure defense but the courts overruled it because he was using it to make money despite his claim that a certain amount would be given to charity.
The grifter's actions were permanently enjoined and he had to pay damages to the MLK family trust. Posted by: whig at March 10, 2021 12:37 PM (pO7gM) 103

There are occasionally worthwhile Republicans that come along, Gingrich, Giuliani, Trump, DeSantis, perhaps a few others but in the main, they are all worthless pieces of shit and they suck ass. The claim was that the Republican Party had raised $207 million to "stop the steal". In one version it grew past $300 million. In one version of the staff rumor, the finger on the button for those millions was a high-level woman at the Republican National Committee. In another version, it was being jointly managed by that RNC woman and the Commish, and they were surely keeping an eye to the future. In everyone's version of the story, $100 million had been set aside for future legal defense._But whoever was in charge, they were sitting on the money, and I never saw one penny of it being spent in any way to "stop the steal". What lowandslow said - paucity of suitable candidates. It's a bit of circular trap and conundrum.
Very very few GOP candidates are suitable for office. But they're all that's on the menu for voters. And the Dem alternatives, either individually or merely by being part of that incredibly radical, malevolent Borg, are unthinkable. Paradoxically the top job, president, has a nomination process where a true outsider can come in and get it done - lower level races are actually more difficult, there's one shot, one limited market, and the "establishment" and well known names have a yuuuuge advantage. For all the people advising that he should have fired everyone, that would have effectively left control in every department to the permanent staff which has been over time even more rigidly left than the political appointees. With McConnell blocking his own president from making any recess appointments and every GOP caucus member going along with it (recess motions may be made by any member), effectively the Don was blocked from hiring.
In addition to the pigs breakfast he faced was the betrayal of Chris Christie who was initially in charge of the transition. Christie shuffled in GOPe approved people and killed the open source attempts at getting new blood into office via the submission of credentials. Even when Christie was fired from the transition and sent to the outer darkness of politics, essentially the only appointees on the shelf that had clearances, etc. ready to go were ex Bushies and Gopesters. I thoroughly sympathize with people wanting to kill the GOP as a party. My only quibble is the unanswered question of what then as realistically, the GOP has to totally die which will take about 4 years (Whigs), maybe 6 years. Federalist party took 14 years to die. Waiting for elected Democrats to start coming forward with "a strange, new respect" for the Republican party, once they see all that sweet grifter cash diverted to Trump. Democrats, after all, have a vested interest in keeping the Washington Generals (er, I mean, the GOP) as the designated losers (oops, I mean loyal opposition). They have to smear the GOP, but not so much that it actually guts the party and takes them out. Just enough to keep them on life support so that the Democrats can have perpetual victory.

The best alternative is Trump's attempted hostile takeover of the GOP. Everything is in place except for better people.
Meh - this is kind of a silly comment. We tried "taking over" the GOP and turning them into an opposition party by electing the Tea Party wave. What happened ? Nothing - the GOP turned who they could and drove away the rest. So we sent Trump. The GOP hung him out to dry. You can't take over the GOP unless you elect - all at once - over 50% of your guys simultaneously. Interesting that the first prominent conservative to advocate "defund the GOP" was Glenn Beck, about 12 years ago, when he specifically pointed to Mitch McConnell as the heart of the corruption. Then when Trump came along Beck was against him, but came around by early 2018. Beck has hated Mitch for many years--good insight!

The sad truth is that since Mark Hanna and William McKinley, the Republicans have increasingly become the corporatist party. And like corporations as corporations morphed into leftist, subsidy and regulatory capture type creatures, the Republicans in office followed right along with it.
The corporations provided the funding to GOPe to keep the Dem left from effectively outlawing them or taxing them to death and the Republicans would pretend to support what the voters wanted on a few symbolic issues. Only occasionally has this drift been challenged since Calvin Coolidge. Trump was an existential threat to corporate types by cutting off cheap labor from other places and cheap imported goods from China. So both the GOPe and Dems collaborated in hoax investigations, ignoring any fiscal responsibility, and ultimately cheating and stealing a presidential election. People won't even have the mental framework to object to anything soon, the tyranny of the authority of the present is consuming any rational thought. Examples are everywhere, purging whiteness (Newton) from physics even though without him and his calculus, there is no physics; the attempt to purge whiteness from the Classics by stopping studies of the Greeks (who by definition are the Classics) ; and the current disaster at the border, or crisis or discomfiture as they define it down. This is a Clockwork Orange attack on the mind of mankind.

206 You are welcome Ben Had.
I am notoriously unsentimental dealing with politics as it is always the art of the possible. Unfortunately, ordinary politics breaks down when two or more incompatible groups with incompatible desires try to use the system. The key to a peaceful republic is rotation in power, whenever one or another party decides to make its position permanent through legislation, then the other side has to either submit or fight. Same thing with the rule of law, you cannot have a rule of law for one group and Calvinball for the other. The truth is broken people purposefully destroyed homogeneous nations and culture throughout the West and that ultimately will destroy the current political systems. A wolf and a sheep cannot legitimately vote on who is to be served for dinner. The usual depressing response in history is that someone becomes El Supremo leader in order to crush the political disorder. If the nation is homogeneous, you can even have a return to normalcy for a time. If it is made up of dissimilar groups, then you get an emperor of some sort and coercion and force bind the empire together until it cannot anymore. Mitch would've gone along with everything Biden and democrats are doing. Romney, Lisa Murky, Collins would've deserted to the D's and given them a defacto majority on almost every issue. One last thing, as people noted above, either Trump is the SMOD of the Republican party or the Republican party thwarts him and destroys itself.
The issue with a party takeover is that it is dependent on rank and file base voters siding with Trump over time and Trump not making egregious errors on selection of candidates. Martin Van Buren created the modern Dem party by picking the majority faction controlling each state (at the time, there was only one party--the Dems), into the Andy Jackson faction. He gave them patronage and they gave him support. The issue is that the majority faction in a state might not be the one that you want to take office at the national level and are often resistant to reforms. The losing factions in each state then became the nucleus of the Whig party and beat Van Buren himself for reelection in 1840. But, as the Whigs were new, the presidential win ended up meaning nothing as John Tyler became president when Harrison died. Tyler sided with his former Democrats compatriots in office. The Whigs won again in 1848 but the same thing happened with Millard Fillmore becoming president after Taylor died. Posted by: whig at March 10, 2021 01:19 PM (pO7gM) 332

Wolf spiders are called wolf spiders for a reason. Hoo boy.
Big, with hairy legs. Don't know if they actually bite, but when you see them in a closet or what not the adrenaline rush is nothing compared to the need for fresh underwear. Posted by: Seems legit at March 10, 2021 01:20 PM (FMoYW) 337

Now speaking at the White House Daily Briefing - Roberta Jacobson, Biden's "Coordinator for the Southern Border." She says Biden wants $4 Billion to address/fix the problems that cause Central Americans to want to get out and come to the US.
What a heaping pile of steaming horse sh!t. The US Government has been trying for over 50 years to end US poverty, crime in inner cities, create jobs for disadvantaged people, yada, yada, yada. So, fixing crime, corruption, lack of jobs, and low wages, in Honduras, Guatemala, etc., will be a snap! Now she's saying this can work because the money will be directly given to UN and NGO groups, not to the corrupt national governments. Well alrighty, then! Gosh, there is no possible way the national governments could ever skim from or take all that money! Idiots, idiots, iditots. Posted by: Gref at March 10, 2021 01:21 PM (AMIL/) 341
I don't know why people hate spiders. They're small and misunderstood. Imagine if they were bigger. Much bigger. Like the size of a small dog, sitting in your lap, looking up at you with its 8 eyes while you stroke its coarse hair. See? Not so creepy now, right?

The Compromise of 1850 disintegrated the Whig party as the Northern wing became the nucleus of the new Republican party after 1852 elections and the Southern wing became powerless johnny come lately factions in the Southern Democrat states. Many of these former Southern Whigs opposed the breakup of the Union but lacked any formal organization to challenge the fire eater Dems in the South as the states in the South became one party states.

So, what would happen if Trump fails and the Republican party blunders on. What you will see is that the Republican party will essentially disappear as it did in the South after Reconstruction and by similar means.
The Dems disenfranchised the Republicans and the poor in the South through a variety of means but basically by manipulating the voting system and instituting things like the White primary, cumulative poll taxes, literacy and constitutional tests, moving polling places and precincts with no notice, and so on. Notably, no second party arose and the real campaign was between factions in the Dem party. Third parties, such as the fusion movement or the Grange populist movements were quelled by election laws making it hard for them to campaign and substituting outright fraud which controlling all the state governments allowed them to do when needed. The problem is that the system is too fragile to survive, but everyone
is so terrified of what comes after that they are desperately trying to keep the whole thing from collapsing until after they're gone. Partly that. Partly personal fear of what happens if you oppose the woke state*. Partly graft. Partly blackmail. Partly, well I have to make this sacrifice so I can still have political power to defend this other thing. It is a mess certainly. *If the five nominally conservative judges had thrown out the stolen election I imagine at least one of them would have been assassinated, perhaps all of them. Doesn't excuse the cowardice...but it partially explains it. "BUT THE RIOTS" as John Roberts said... Posted by: 18-1 at March 10, 2021 01:34 PM (qlFIA) 350
George Floyd is a public figure. So we could start the 'George Floyd fund to stop police brutality' then, we could give the money to police officers to buy new pepper spray and stun guns. That would be totally legal, right?

When HR 1 becomes the election law of the land, all methods of industrial scale voter fraud become legal, and we know that the John "Epstein Houseguest" Roberts court is going to stay out of meddling in you know, enforcing sections of the constitution that have to do with elections. Not to mention the millions of bought and paid for Illegal Aliens (oh I said a bad phrase) who look to Uncle Sam as their "Uncle Sugar".
Why then would it matter how many Millions or even Billions Trump's Super PAC is able to raise? When are people going to wake up and realize there will be no voting our way out of this one? 2022 is going to come and go and GOP supporters all over America are going to be get to say "Aww shucks, they were able to beat us again even though we had more votes than ever in every category". Perhaps the most repellant thing in the Tweets written by David French is his closing, "My Sunday essay", and then the link to same. This fraud scribbles entire essays? Too ghastly to contemplate. French, like many other self-designated "thought leaders", is an example of the sort of fellow about whom one can say, "By his Tweets shall ye know him." I can't imagine that even his friends actually read his catalog of biases, misapprehensions, and spiritual piffle strung out to the length of an essay. Anything he's got to say (right or, almost invariably, wrong) can be boiled down to the bumper-sticker medium of a Tweet.

McConnell didn't "Ram through" anything. He had a majority. He made sure no real conservative in the Alioto mode got nominated. The only thing you can give him credit for is not caving and confirming Garland in 2016. That's it.
