My two favorite games right now are Red Dead Redemption II (published by evil Rockstar Games who also publish GTA) and Hunter: Call of the Wild. In RDRII you shoot, beat, and kill people. In H:CotW you shoot deer, bear, boar etc. In RDRII, I have no qualms about.robbing and killing the guilty, the innocent, and the semi-innocent. In H:CotW, however, I feel a twinge of guilt shooting pixel deer etc., particularly the small, cute roe deer.

The Club 85 broad incident was especially outrageous because the guy who she hit didn't die right away, he was halfway through the windshield. Drove home and closed the garage door.
Every day or two she'd go out to the garage and check on him to see if he was dead yet. He would plead for her to call an ambulance but she didn't. Giggled to her friends that she had hit a white guy with her car. Posted by: Common Tater at February 24, 2021 01:48 PM (XUnia) 123

Yeah, this heads into "the coverup is worse than the crime" territory. Okay, sure, if you think you can get away scot free, I see that. But there's all kinds of evidence on the ground, on the car, it becomes a news story, and you'll always wonder if this is the day you'll be found out. Unless you're, I don't know, trafficking illegal narcotics or have another dead body in the truck or something. Something worse you don't want to get out. Because someone is dead, and you caused that death (even if you may not be terribly culpable). I don't know how the law is elsewhere, but in Texas if you do that sober as a church mouse but you are on your cell phone at the time, you'll likely be charged and convicted. I think cops are given some leeway based on behavior and driving. Like: if you're acting heavily intoxicated and driving like a loon, they can still bust you even if you don't test drunk. Maybe you're on something else they cannot test (one of the main objections cops had to legalizing every drug in existence in Oregon). I will refer the right honorable member to the post on an earlier thread... In any case: in a simpler era Fry's was the shit. Pocket protector heaven. Spent many, many hours there. But later they kinda lost their way. Less hardcore tech, more Best Buy appliances and other crap. They never really found their footing in that model. And with even Mouser and McMaster-Carr doing next-day shipping as a default there's really no room for a retail space given the breadth of the products they'd have to cover. vehicle while using a mobile device, and a driving lane violation for driving outside of his lane. The charges were all misdemeanors, and prosecutors said they do not indicate Ravnsborg was criminally responsible for Boever's death. Hyde County Deputy State's Attorney Emily Sovell said that a manslaughter charge cannot be brought simply for poor driving, even if someone is killed. Not content to chase Nicklaus' majors record anymore, Woods has now elected to replicate Ben Hogan's comeback.
Actually he was already pretty Hoganesque with the injuries he had before this, in part because he torqued his frame so badly early on with or without PEDs. Ben's wreck was much worse, of course, and sports medicine wasn't even a thing back them; plus he never regained full sight in one eye. Tiger's Masters win two years ago was his last hurrah. Augusta is a course very suited to his game and he knew it like the back of his hand. I'd say so. Multiple compound fractures - his leg is being held together by rods and screws right now. Doctors also said they had to cut several muscle sheaths - to relieve the swelling. He'll be working on walking for the next couple years. --- I actually heard some yokel on local sports radio wondering if Tiger would be back for the Masters. Back then Amazon hadn't even started selling books, and with all the animation cameras, film processor, PC's etc. we had, I was always in there for something. But yeah, it started turning into an "emergency only" place for me anyway. Usually for some sort of cable or similar. Probably 10 years easy since I set foot in one of their stores, but I know a lot of people that still did. Forgot to mention, Fry's themed their stores as well, one in Santa Clara was all an Egyptian theme. The place had like 30 registers. Three to four employees standing around talking to each other and completely ignoring the person who wants info on a printer. An employee who isn't sure what a Kindle Paperwhite is. It's sad, but WuFlu isn't the primary reason they're going under. Posted by: Polliwog the 'Ette at February 24, 2021 02:44 PM (1lKRm) 419

At the local grocery store today, the soda pop shelves were almost completely bare EXCEPT for all of the Coke products which were in abundant supply. The line marking where the Pepsi products were and where the coke products are was sharp and clear. Posted by: LASue I noticed that as well, yesterday. I bought store-brand diet cola and seltzer as an aid to ween myself off soda. Posted by: Hannibal Lecter at February 24, 2021 02:49 PM (KnJdm) 421
How many unarmed blacks are killed by police each year?
3/4 of liberals think it's more than 100. 1/3 think more than 1,000. 1/6 think more than 10,000. Actual number (in 2019) was 13. Posted by: Anonosaurus Wrecks, Tyrannosaur Wrangler at February 24, 2021 02:53 PM (VVEnO) 422

>>>I mean, this isn't some minor traffic violation. Regardless who is running the investigation, an unreported accident where someone died is a big deal. No matter who you are.
Actually, yeah it is. Ravnsburg is facing three misdemeanor charges. At most he'll serve 90 days in the county jail. And that's only if the sentences run consecutively. Posted by: Ernst Schreiber at February 24, 2021 04:47 PM (GA8EQ) 428
I know this is way willowed, but this isn't beyond the realm of possibility. It doesn't make it any less heinous, though.
My uncle was killed while jogging many years ago, by a woman who turned around to speak to/yell at her kids in the back seat of the station wagon. Her car actually chased him down into the ditch he jumped into. She shattered her windshield. THEN she drove all the way home and parked the car in the garage. She took the kids out of the car and went inside. I think it was one of the kids that called the police. My uncle didn't have a chance. But something snapped in the woman's mind and she just went straight into denial. She confessed when the police confronted her with the broken windshield and the blood all over the hood and bumper. I think she got a hit and run but not the negligent manslaughter she should have. It happens. Sure as shootin' shouldn't make any difference in consequences, though.
