The Washington Post ended its false claims project for President Donald Trump on Wednesday and has no current "plans" to start a new database for President Joe Biden, the paper told the Daily Caller. Throughout Trump's four years as president, The Post’s fact checkers said that he made 30,573 false or misleading claims -- this number was revealed shortly after Biden officially became the 46th president. Glenn Kessler, editor and chief fact checker for The Post's fact checking team, tweeted that he "never would have believed this number was possible when" they "started four years ago." Trump's departure also equals an end to having a false claims project for the current president, as The Post said it does "not have plans to launch a Biden database at this time." Trump's database began a month after he became president, The Post's director of communications Shani George told the Caller.

Seriously, it's kinda like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in that it's possibly the most realistic, honest portrayal of what life is like for the principle characters... although with supernatural elements added.
In other words, X-Files is NOT a show about aliens and other assorted spookies. It's about the Deep State, and what it does to keep its secrets. So far they're hitting on all aspects of this... intelligence agencies, internal FBI politics, local cops and politics, NASA... and politics... egad. It's all politics, all the way down! The truth IS out there.

Back toward the beginning of the second Obama administration, I rewatched a lot of the X-Files. The first 3-4 seasons, especially, bears out your assessment. I remember remarking to a friend, "there is no way they could make this now. There are too many villains, and they're all in the government or some cooperative cabal."

Seriously, if there's any chance of clawing our ways back from this, it's electoral integrity at the state level. It seems like the support should be out there for it, but pressure needs to be applied.
Yelling about what Congress and Biden are doing isn't going to get us closer to making our elections secure. Screaming at our state representatives and governors will do more.

Season 1 at least, the effects look cheap, because they are, but the stories themselves are very tight and clear. By that I mean, you know what's going on, and you know why. They don't rely (too much) on cheap tricks to put characters in situations that aren't supported by the story. Mulder is very naive in some ways, and it's fun to watch him get that dumb look on his face when humans behave badly. But then obviously he knows things no one else does, so I like the fact that he's a genius in some ways, and a fool in others.

I find comfort through Dantes Inferno that priests, bishops , and even popes can pay a price for their sins. I've come to realize popes and even bishops like JPII are few and far between. I love my church but not its leaders.

A week before the election, "someone" - read Democrats - stole a handful of voting USBs from the city warehouse. The "security guard" was not at his post - likely complicit - and that was that. The USBs got them access to the machines, the asshole drunken cocksucking mayor refused to let GOP observers at any polling place, and the steal was sealed.
This hurts me more than anyone because the theft happened in my division. We wanted to take the case, but the bosses gave it to the Major Crimes Division, who did literally nothing about it.
