Glenn Greenwald: The Marxist-Corporatist Fusion Regime, Now Knowing It Is Safe and Will Not be Challenged or Limited for At Least Four Years, Goes Full Authoritarian, As It Had Always Lusted to Do

Glenn Greenwald
@ggreenwald

The ACLU in NYT on why the union of Silicon Valley monopolies -- Apple, Google and Amazon -- to remove Parler from the internet is so problematic. While ACLU is largely just a liberal pressure group now, they still have some real civil liberties lawyers:

https://nytimes.com/2021/01/10/technology/parler-app-trump-free-speech.html?action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage

applegoogleamazon.png

]
Tech monopolies -- FB, Google, Apple, Amazon -- have more concentrated wealth & power than any in history. They have used brute force 3 times in 3 months to manipulate US politics: censoring NY Post, banning Trump, destroying Parler.

And liberals are overwhelmingly supportive.

That these Silicon Valley monopolies are grave menaces to political freedom & economic well-being is *not* a right-wing view.

The most comprehensive report warning of these dangers was issued 3 months ago by a Democratic House Sub-Committee. Read this.

House: Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Google have “monopoly power,” should be split
Blockbuster report calls for beefing up enforcement and aiming for breakups.

Authoritarians never believe they're authoritarians, no matter how much censorship, surveillance, jingoism, & imprisonment they demand.

They tell themselves their enemies are so uniquely evil and dangerous - terrorists - that anything done in the name of fighting them is noble.

Do you know how many of the people arrested in connection with the Capitol invasion were active users of Parler?

Zero.

The planning was largely done on Facebook. This is all a bullshit pretext for silencing competitors on ideological grounds: just the start.

And by "terrorist," they mean you.

Biden's team has been very open that he plans to realign the nation's anti-terrorist forces to root out... domestic "terrorists."

Americans who reject the Marxist-Corporatist Fusion Regime, he means.

Those who will not submit to subjugation.

Below, Glenn Greenwald's thread on the New War on Non-Terrorism.

I will link the videos he embeds -- but note, these links go to Twitter.

Glenn Greenwald
@ggreenwald
There's absolutely a new War on Terror being initiated -- it'd been lurking for awhile, but it's accelerating now for obvious reasons. This new one is aimed inward, domestically. It entails many of the same frameworks.

They're saying it explicitly:

wsjdomesticterrorism.png

f the last few decades teach anything, it should be that making weighty decisions at times of high and intense emotions, closely following an event that unifies most everyone to the point that any deviations or questioning are treated like treason or heresy, is extremely unwise.

Amazing - yesterday I wrote: the same tactic used against critics of the first War on Terror would be used for the new one: demonizing those who question its excesses as "pro-terrorist."

Today, up pops neocon @DavidFrum to reprise his role, this time as a liberal thought leader....

Liberals who are behind the Biden/Harris plan to initiate this new War on Terror, this time with a primary domestic focus, won't need to study what neocons did with the first War on Terror to learn those old tactics against critics. Neocons are their full allies in all of this.

A key ally for the Dems in this domestic War on Terror will be the same media outlets who have acted as their spokespeople since 2016. CNN employs a former conservative, @oliverdarcy, whose main function in life is to demand censorship on behalf of Dems.

Now CNN's @oliverdarcy is going after cable companies for carrying Fox News

Most of these pro-Dem media outlets employ people whose principal job is do demand censorship of Democrats' adversaries. When FB yesterday announced the Trump ban, Darcy immediately popped up to complain it wasn't broad enough, that we need mass banning on those on the Right:

I spent the first decade of my journalism career devoted to exposing and denouncing the excesses of the first War on Terror, and I see exactly the same tactics forming...

If you question or are concerned about these new powers, you'll be branded as sympathetic to the terrorists.

As I said, one could see this new domestic War on Terror forming long before the events at the Capitol. Someone just posted this clip where I discussed it with
@JoeRogan before the election, in Oct. Lots of big institutions with an interest in doing this.

In case any of you doubt there is a new War on Terror underway: here's a former CIA operative and Pentagon official now a member of Congress (a Democrat, needless to say), explicitly saying (on MSNBC, of course) that the new War on Terror is domestic.

Neocon grifter turned pasty leftwing agitator David French spastically agrees:

@DavidAFrench
·
The most powerful man in the world incited an attack on our republic.

The free American citizens who work for Twitter responded with an action freely chosen.

And MAGA voices wail about lost followers as evidence of totalitarianism.

Snowflakes.

The snarling -- but pasty and pudgy -- face of fascism.

White right wing groups made up most of the list.

There was just a few years of pause before they are going back to the original plan.

Greenwald's "I fought the excesses of the first war on terror" was typical overwrought vaporizing by the left when Bush was president but he's not wrong here.

Believe the bad guys when they tell you what they are going to do or want to do. They are usually quite honest about it, but nobody wants to or can believe them.

This kind of overt, fascistic White Supremacy cannot stand. We must have a zero tolerance policy for domestic terror groups like MAGA, Aryan Nations, and the Republican Party.

There's only two kind of of people in the world: Racists and Anti-Racists. If you're not willing to recognize the inherent violence of Whiteness then you're a racist. Period. The internet is the primary means by which Whiteness infects the world today. And just as we wouldn't let terrorists distribute poison, we can't let them distribute Whiteness, either. This isn't about politics. This is about public safety and Whiteness is the #1 public safety threat in America today. Banning racism and Whiteness from the internet is the least we can do to protect the future of America which is diverse, beautiful, and Brown not disgusting, hate-filled, and White.

142 Not just Amazon cloud services, but amazon the marketplace.

They have too much power to control what can be sold. They have monopolized one form of the press (as in, freedom of.)

They also control trade policy by allowing illegal imports (imports which violate IP rights of US companies) to thrive. US companies are put in a no win situation where they either sell out to China and die slowly, or don't sell out and die fast.

These are two threats to our Republic. Add in the cloud service, and Amazon is a triple threat and all three branches need to be curtailed.

1. cloud services monopolizing internet infrastructure
2. book marketplace monopolizing distribution of press
3. market dominance facilitating IP theft.

If I were an Islamist, I'd be making phone calls about getting the band back together and coming up with some great new numbers. The targets will be what they've always been: big, fat, blue state city centers.

When the bombs start going off, if the Murdercrats in power have enough sense of self-preservation to overcome their urge to use the new emergency to attack those who didn't commit it (a big if) they'll be looking around in shock, wondering why those excitable fellows can't realize that they're really *all on the same team*, and why they won't go and blow up people in red states! 159 People, we are going back to the dark ages of the internet. DNS is technically not needed if you actually know the ip address. I would recommend writing down the ip addresses of places that you frequent.

What DNS does is conveniently converts a easy to remember name to a series of numbers (ip addresses) so that you can access a website.

You can also change your DNS service via a router to something like Open DNS which is more resistant to leftist deplatforming but the actual ip address is king.

To get that for your favorite sites, go now to WhoIs servers.

Here is an example of ar15.com search. https://preview.tinyurl.com/y4m223v4

The most powerful man in the world incited an attack on our republic.
--------

I know the vaunted Mr. French does not read here, but nonetheless I would like to say something about this. First of all, I was there, in the middle of the huge crowd, and the president did not incite anyone.

Furthermore, for anyone who has never attended a march or demonstration in DC before, I will tell you that the reason these marches are held in Washington is because, to paraphrase Willie Sutton, that's where the legislators are. The whole POINT of meeting in DC for anything, like, say, the March for Life, is that after the speeches, you walk down to the Capitol and you go visit your representatives and senators and ask them to vote pro-life.

So the idea that asking people to go to the Capitol to "peacefully protest" is anything new is absolutely disingenuous. That's the whole point of these things.

Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

Also all white people are evil and everything bad in the history of the world is due to Whiteness and even when white people try to be anti-racist they're actually just secretly supporting White Supremacy because white people are born into whiteness they drink the poison with their mother's milk. That is what generally happens in a coup. The major advantage to a monarchy or a stable democracy is that the succession to power is peaceful. The aftermath, whether immediately or several years down the road, is usually quite messy with exiles, property seizures, and even darker events such as Romania.

270 Long time lurker, delurking for once, to say I appreciate the content generated on AoS. Thank you Ace (it feels terribly informal to call you "Ace", Mr. Spades?), primarily; and to the COB's for the time and effort you put in.

For the most part, I have divested myself from left/centrist news sites masquerading as the bedrock of principled conservative thought. When principled conservative thought, can be bought, influenced, or frightened, it is neither principled or conservative. That's what I appreciate about AoS, your unwillingness to compromise. To remain absolute in an age of rapidly waning conservative convictions makes you an irritant to compromisers, earning their disdain. But the disdain of compromisers is a crown of glory. Wear it with a smile. Thank you again.

They seem to not be able to get it through their heads that the right mainly just wants to be left alone and use social measures to control disorder, it is the left that goes bonkers on totalitarian crushing of all opposition through purity spirals.

Read up some day on the purity spirals in the Massachusetts Bay Colony--basically a group of dissidents left England because of real and perceived persecution and then promptly established the same thing in Mass.

277 Why is it that the rest of the world can see what liberals in America can't?

Leftists in America don't think anymore. They simply agree with the dominant leftist opinion they heard last. You can temporarily influence a disconnected leftist by couching an idea in leftist language and asking their "opinion", but as soon as they connect to the leftist hive of their choice, they will update their opinion.

Remember, the Obummer regime didn't have to use the apparatus to spy on Americans and train their appointees and promoted drones to do so with approval. They chose to do it.

There has been a shadow government going on all during Donald Trumps term as President. Communicating with sympathetic bureaucrats and well-connected administrators (Rod Rosenstein, for example).
My guess is that someone like John Brennan (well, John Brennan) has been piping intel back and forth, and BHO gets to see some of it. Brennan's private company was getting intel (by contract) from CIA and NSA. Imagine that, will you?
Whoever is really running the Democrat party gets to see all of it and gets input as to what communications were being made.
Remember always, that Biden and Harris are figureheads, as is likely BHO.

How to kill millions in easy steps!

1. Convince your followers that they are the better people. Nazis were better because they were Aryans. Commie are better because they believe in social justice. Muslims are better because they worship the one true god.

2. Convince your followers that utopia is at hand. Nazi utopia is a thousand year Reich of racially hygienic ends war and poverty. Commie utopia is a paradise of equality and prosperity. Islamic utopia is 99 hotter virgins on the wall, 99 hotter virgins . . .

3. Convince your followers that the only thing preventing utopia is the enemy people. The Nazi enemies include Jews, communists, capitalists, democrats. The commies' enemies include capitalists, the bourgeoisie, landlords, wreckers and saboteurs. Islam's enemies include anyone not knocking their head on the floor.

4. Convince your followers that the enemy is uniquely vile. Jews are vermin responsible for starting and losing the war plus the use the blood of Christian babies to make matzo balls 1/2

The bigger metadata problem is that people are clueless and upload pics directly from their smartphones that have coordinates and other info embedded in them. Even if the downsized version ultimately visible by others has that scrubbed (some do, some don't), whoever you uploaded it to usually retains that metadata. The overwhelming majority of the public has no idea metadata is even a thing.

330 It's funny how they never see this power turning and being used against them. That's mostly because the other side is too nice and invested in comity. Like the abusive husband who beats his wife and "apologizes" promising he will never do it again. Until he does...again and again.

People are sick of weak, feckless, quislings who do more to hurt the cause of liberty than help it.

You have thousands of people descending on Washington because the people who are meant to represent you, don't. They abandon you to ensure they get a plum committee position or get invited to the cocktail circuit. F these people.

409 284 Uncle Joe,
You misread me and what I said. I said that a coups are different than revolutions. Coups do involve messy endings but it is generally particular institutions and individuals directly involved that bear the brunt of things. Thailand has had several messy coups as have places like Chile under Allende.
Revolutions literally change the elites at the top because the entire social order is swept away. In coups, it is primarily a competition between elites in who gets to run the state. Coups generally rely on authoritarian repression such as clamping down on organized resistance speech like don't challenge the steal, etc. Revolutions simply deem you an enemy of the state and worth liquidating.
Notice that the techlords are not exactly the poor campesinos and a revolution is not what they want as it would leave them literally as kings of ashes if they win or dead if they don't. Sometimes a coup though can proceed directly to a revolution which is what happened in France. King Louis was safe enough until his stupid wife via the Hapsburgs decided to provide external muscle to overcome the coup. That made the king and queen literally enemies of the French people.

Listening to Trump MAY have SAVED George Floyd's life.

In April 2020, Trump warned the press that there were "other costs" to staying shut down.

Two that he mentioned were "suicide" and "overdose".

The most sympathetic story of Floyd is that he lost his job in the shutdown and went down a spiral and OD-ed on Chinese fentanyl.

Thus had the press NOT been playing the game OrangeManVeryBad, George Floyd's life may have been saved and the country didn't have to burn.

Then what the hell will they do with the Football Team?

Drop the conservative label. We're not conservatives anymore.

We're not fighting to preserve something that still is, we're fighting to restore something that was lost.

That makes us reformers.

A conservative can delude himself into thinking he can win on the defensive. A reformer must attack the corruption or gain nothing.

We need to change the label, because changing the term helps to change the mentality.

The old monarchies knew that they had to maintain the good graces of the peasants to protect themselves from the nobility. So, by and large, unless you made a nuisance of yourself, even absolute rulers like Louis XIV left you alone to your own thoughts as long as you did not challenge the legitimacy of the regime. It was Rousseau that argued that individuals rights and ideas must be subsumed into the general will (expressed by woke leaders more or less). Rousseau distilled Plato through a filter of the worst features of Calvinism and reactionary Catholicism at the time. It is probably because he was a pervert, wastrel, deadbeat father that he sought to control through external forces like communism.

548 489 It is a good question what they would name the new State. Washington, DC will remain for whatever Federal District remains.

The new state can't be Columbia, because colonizer, or Washington, because slaveholder. Plus, there is already a Washington.

Columbia was the ship skippered by American Capt Robert Gray, and named the river after his ship's name.
About the same time, Capt Robert Vancouver of England was sailing Puget Sound and lower BC, naming islands, sounds, and other geographical spots after his crew members, like Peter Puget.

605 @590 that's a good answer and map. They have data centers all over the world. Customers pay for AWS services by region (the closer you are geographically the better if latency is a concern). Pricing varies by region as well. There are other hosting services in other countries, but no one has commoditized it to the degree that Amazon has. It will be harder to launch or migrate web apps, but there are lots of non Google/Amazon cloud and data center services available around the world.

630 Some Dems are very concerned about the Twitter bans, tech moves against Parler and the 25th Amendment/impeachment gambits. Yeah, it seems that the "community" of tech service providers have told Parler there's no room at the in, due to pressure from the usual suspects.

And standing up a data center is not something you can do on short notice, we're talking minimum 3-6 months under the best of scenarios.

You also need a few million dollars to do it.

So Parler is going to be out of commission for a tick or three.

659 Serious question - can someone start their own ISP?

Posted by: josephistan at January 11, 2021 03:23 PM

Sure. I did it once.

The main requirement is multiple feeds from multiple backbone providers, redundant power and cooling and stuff like that. There are certain technical requirements (you'll need routers that do BGP and, therefore an ASN, to talk to the rest of the Internet and, just as importantly, to get the rest of the Internet to talk to you. Once you have the peering agreements in place, and a data center set up, you're an ISP.

All it takes is money and time.

pretty much everyone knows the election was rigged. Hell 25% of Dems admit it in a poll. Those that don't admit it, still know it.

WTH kind of a country will this be when everyone in it knows its rigged.

Listen, we know what happened, Trump got so many more votes than they anticipated that the all call went out to stop the vote at 10pm, then they organized and went with plan B, massive synthsiztion of votes by all means, Digitally, algorithmically and manually until they had the votes they needed.

And the kicker is they told us exactly how they would do it.
