Can't say why without betraying a confidence, but I just had a BIG restoration of faith moment in AG Barr and Durham.
This rumor follows on the heels of the release last week of records showing several members of the Special Counsel's Office "wiped" their SCO-issued cell phones clean on one or more occasions. ...Also, only those employed by the government can be demanded to answer questions, short of being hailed into court.
It cannot be overlooked that, while most of the more senior DOJ "veterans" on the SCO went to lucrative careers in private practice after departing, several of the younger members of the SCO returned to positions in the Department of Justice.
That means they have been subject to potential investigation by internal DOJ disciplinary offices like the Inspector General or Office of Professional Responsibility. Issues like "wiping" their SCO- issued phones without authorization, likely in violation of DOJ policy, might not mean much to Andrew Weissmann and Jeannie Rhee, but for younger attorneys still in DOJ like Brandon Van Grack, Aaron Zelinsky, and Adam Jed, their DOJ careers might hang in the balance -- and potentially their licenses to practice law. It is possible they were directed or encouraged to take some actions they now regret, or for which they are now vulnerable to leverage by Durham or other government investigators.Shipwreckedcrew also discusses the possible tell of Andrew Weismann going into "agitation overdrive" when investigators started looking into the Flynn set-up. My recommended course of action with this tip is to have a low level of optimism about it and then, when it doesn't pan out, absolutely beat the shit out of Jack Straw in the comments.

Some people, no matter where are frightened to death. There's this guy who I've seen walking from the neighborhood to the local shops for years. He's now always wearing a mask (wrong) and latex gloves. Nobody around, Chances of him even passing somebody on the crosswalk is pretty slim. But there he is.
I see serious bicyclists wearing masks out on the trails. How do you do proper cardio wearing a mask? I'm wondering what sort of health implications we're going to see in the future from people doing this.

I know people don't go to see the sites in their towns/cities for the reasons stated. But if you are a history buff that changes things. Also, if you have a lot of out of town relatives and you live in an historic place, you end up a tour guide.

At the Farmers' Market I walked around with the mask hanging off one ear.
By now I know the vendors who are all Karen-ish, and avoid them. I just patronize the ones who take my money even tho' I'm maskless. The Amish themselves have taken to walking around the premises with their faces exposed. They also have designed these minimalist masks that basically look like loincloths for the nose. Then I read him the news item, or even show him the indisputable video evidence. And his response is....crickets.

Think about it - let's say you're some asswipe Deep State technocrat doctor on the WH/Walter Reed/whatever staff. Sure, you could probably purposely pop a false positive on the President. You might even be able to arrange for it to happen a few times.
But I'm Trump has his own doctors, too. He keeps his own cooks, security consultants, and legal counsel in addition to the government's people, so I can't imagine he wouldn't.

One of the Battlefields I liked the most was Vicksburg, especially the display of the remains of the gunboat USS Cairo.
Also they did a demonstration firing of one of the larger cannon they had. Set off the car alarms in a parking lot 200 yards behind us!

So yeah, when I've toured Civil War sites, I was hitting the places where major battles occurred.

That's how you know it's all for show. The government has the power to put enormous pressure on people to cop pleas. They can take away everything you have, if you're important enough. They can take your money, your job, isolate you from your family. They can make it so it won't even be worth it fight in court because it will cost you more money than you will ever have to defend. And the government will never run out of budget for that, you'll always lose. People will break and testify to anything if they're looking at losing every dime their famiy has, 50 years in the can and never being able to work again due to the stigma of it all. Even if they didn't do it sometimes. That's how they got Flynn.

Yep, it's amazing, even in the city of Chattanooga, where there are signs among the neighborhoods, you can more or less see how what happened there, happened.
And up on Lookout Mountain, there are still foxholes and other evidence of the defensive lines. It's possible to get lost in thought, of what it must have been like.

What I would be curious to know is the contacts that the Trump campaign is making and the pos/neg response to the outreach.
That would then be compared to voter polling in those states where the outreach is being made. Best research designs triangulate and use geographic area corrections through direct contact to then correct overall survey results using phone only.
Biden's campaign is apparently now just targeting places like MI, NH, etc. not FL, OH, etc. for direct voter contact from what I read this morning this month. That is not really a good sign for him in those states and generally ads make campaign advisors rich--not GOTV operations. NC mail in balloting results are also a strange outlier regarding the black vote estimates.
I am wondering if perhaps the COVID and riots have disrupted GOTV operations of the Dems in states. The Dems have generally farmed those GOTV operations out to allied groups due to dark money contributions and those allied groups might have other concerns than Biden at the present.

I don't believe polls. But I believe my eyes. Trump is working his ass off, he has 3 rallies a week, he's all over the country. He's getting 8000 people to show up, with another 10K in the backup lot at each one and Biden isn't even campaigning at all. The few times Joe does come out, he can't even fill up high school gym. There's more press and Trump hecklers at his rallies then real supporters. There's just no way, no way in hell, Biden is winning.

For me, the biggest tell last election was Trump's last minute trip to Michigan, and the fact Hillary immediately followed him there.
You mean like after months of insisting it was far too dangerous and irresponsible to have a ground game doing in person voter contacts the Biden campaign suddenly announcing that they are now going to start a door knocking campaign after the Trump campaign has been doing it for months and racked up over 10 million door knocks in swing states?
Joe isn't campaigning in PA cause it's close to his Delaware basement. He is not winning PA. FL is pretty close to lost for him. Without PA and FL he is in very deep doo doo no matter what the polls say.

Didn't hear how he introduced himself, asked if we were registered, wife said yes and we knew where to go. He said okay so you don't need to get a mail-in or any other local race information and she said no. He had some flyers with him that were pro-Trump and local candidates. He asked if she minded telling him who she was voting for and she said Trump, that's when I came around the corner and thanked him, wished him good luck.

TJM and I were playing with a tool yesterday that lets you set block voting percentages.
Ironically, 15% Black and 35% Hispanic was one of the scenarios I ran, and it results in a 300+ EV win for Trump.
TJM thinks (and there is a lot of evidence to back this up) that the polls are assuming a lower level of white turnout, especially non-college whites. That is the only mathematical way you can end up with Trump losing, despite gains in minority support.

Describes my hubby to a T. He never, ever, ever took any interest in politics whatsoever until Trump came down the escalator.
He would always expect me to do the research and tell him who the best candidate was and who to vote for. I'd hand him a list to take to the polls.
When Trump began his run hubby said he was voting for the business man, period because it was time the professional politicians got booted.
I was stunned. Never occurred to me that a Trump candidacy was anything but a stunt. But I researched, listened and watched what he did and I figured, well he isn't the Hag in Hoover Attire so what the heck.
