USAToday "Fact Checks" Babylon Bee Article Stating That the Ninth Circuit Had Overruled Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Death
I've never seen SNL "fact"-checked, though many people really do believe the shit in their sketches is real. ("I can see Russia from my house!") No, it's only humor which is critical of the left that gets slapped with the allegation -- an allegation which is intended to be a pretext/predicate for censorship in social media -- that such humorous pieces are "misleading." And have no doubt: When the usual parties who pressure media companies to censor people brand you as "misleading," they're doing that to establish the predicate, to trip the switch, that will lead to the social media company censoring, blacklisting, or outright banning you. The predicates for censorship are as follows: "Misleads" the public about something the left has decided there's only one acceptable opinion on, from race to covid to transgenderism "Causes harm" -- this is a big one. The minute a transgender says that your opinion makes them want to commit self harm, or somehow increases the danger of violence against transgenders, then your post must be censored. "Promotes hate" -- You can hate on all the groups the left hates to your heart's content. There is absolutely no penalty, ever, for saying the most despicable racist shit about white people. But mention anything negative about a protected group on the left? Someone on the left will claim it "promotes hate" which then will give FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google the pretext to censor you. "Glorifies violence" -- generally this means you can't applaud anyone for punching back against antifa. "Journalists" can praise antifa violence on social media as the same as the Allied armies storming Normandy. That's not "glorifying violence." But when Steve Inman laughs at antifa being hit by pepperballs fired by riot-control cops, that is "glorifying violence," and is a predicate for banning. Notice that illegal violence can be praised and that's not glorifying violence but lawful violence, both that deployed by the police in lawful riot-control situations and by law-abiding citizens in practicing self-defense, cannot be praised or even spoken of without condemnation. That would be "glorifying violence." A lot of assholes who pretend to be "on the right" or "libertarian" pretend it's "just free speech" when Oliver Darcy goes on a campaign to brand someone with one or more of these key predicates for censorship. They pretend that this is just speech, and not a formal act -- so-called "performative speech," per the original meaning, before social justice warrior wannabe-academics got the meaning wrong and started just using it to mean "playacting." "Performative speech" is speech like saying "I do" at a wedding's vows, speech that isn't merely speech, but actually accomplishes a change in the world, usually of a legal nature. Just as "I do" is not just speech, but also a legal act which concludes the rites to establish a legal contract (marriage), so too does campaigning to put the brand of any of these Censorship-Enabling Keywords to someone. And just as a judge saying "Guilty" is not just mere hot air, but establishes a formal legal category the defendant is now official confirmed to belong to, "journalists" branding someone a "Nazi" make the target an acceptable target for actual violence and other savage conduct. This isn't just speech -- it's a deliberate action to establish the predicate/pretext for social media censorship, campaigns to make someone unemployable, and to even justify physical attacks on someone. And, coming soon: Actual criminal charges. Make no mistake: When Oliver Darcy goes on his next deplatforming campaign, he will attempt to brand someone as belonging to one of these official Prohibited Categories. And having done so, his next action will be calling a social media company, or someone's employer, to demand to know what that person is still being permitted to speak, or why that person is still being allowed to perform gainful work. That's not just "more speech" -- that is a campaign with the goal in mind, as Ya Boi Zach always says, to make you so destitute due to unemployment and isolated due to coordinated group ostracism that you put a gun in your mouth and blow your brains out. That is their endgame. That is their touchdown-with-two-point conversion. They've already hung at least one scalp over the mantel. They intend to collect some more.Comments

Thing with this one is that for a good number of Transgender persons, the sun coming up in the East makes them want to commit self harm, or somehow increases the danger of violence against transgenders, then your post must be censored.
We use to try to help people at risk of self harm come up with a less distorted self view to help them function. We certainly don't promote people with anorexia's views by telling them they need a gym pass and to run more.

How else could it protect the "rights of man"? It serves as a force to stop those who would stomp on the "rights of man". Face it, protection is a somewhat hostile act. It implies forcefully opposing an agressor (and they're an "agressor" because they chose to take it to a level of force).

The difference is that on the Right, most people ignore and distance themselves from the nutters. The nutters themselves are disorganized and mostly harmless.

I dont' think so. I think Donald Trump would have totally worked more with the Dems, if the Dems' own demogogic mindset hadn't forced them to assess that "Resistance" was the way. When he met with Sid and Nancy and told them they could have great Public works programs if they did not pursue opposing him, I see nothing in what he had said before that he was lying.
God blessed us with the Dems being so opposed to Trump that they did not pursue their agenda in concert with him.
Trump backstabbed Ted Cruz to gain momentum in the polls. (loooong before the Trumpers accused Cruz of backstabbing Trump). Okay, I've already made my peace with that. But it was saying that by Cruz making a stand against McConnell for colluding with the Dems, that Cruz was "disloyal", and that "nobody wanted to work with him".
The Trumpers can't fucking lie about how Trump went against Ted Cruz for calling out the "uniparty" in Washington, and capitalizing on Cruz's "censure" in the Senate for saying non-politic things.
So, God blessed us with an opposition party so stupid it would double down and not work with Trump, thinking the gains were to be made in declaiming him.
(PS: I generally *like* Trump).

Thing with this one is that for a good number of Transgender persons, the sun coming up in the East makes them want to commit self harm, or somehow increases the danger of violence against transgenders, then your post must be censored.
We use to try to help people at risk of self harm come up with a less distorted self view to help them function. We certainly don't promote people with anorexia's views by telling them they need a gym pass and to run more.
Or maybe now we will. Who knows.

I don't know who Dorsey is, but this is what happens when we have an entire generation who were given no basic civics lessons, and who have no clue as to the fundamental basics of *all* government.
The existence of Government depends on the Monopolization of Force. The Government exists to lay out rules for conflicts and basic interactions between the people in the area under it's control. (for example, money instead of barter) Government retains the sole use of Force, and uses it to put down anyone who attempts to use their own force to make their own rules. (for example, stealing said money)
If Government does *not* have a monopoly on force, like in Mexico where the narco-gangs have more force than the nominal government - well then you really don't have any government at all, and the men who can use Force without worrying about pushback make all the important rules. Because there will always be someone who makes the rules.

Yesterday, cashier at Giant also refused to sell me wine because apparently the piece of paper from the state dmv that is supposed to be good until you receive your new license in the mail, apparently isn't good enough to buy booze.
I almost went all Karen on her and asked to speak to a manager but I didn't have that kind of time. She rudely offered to put the wine back on the shelf for me AS IF I wasn't just going to leave them there anyway.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You don't need a driver's licence to buy alcohol, you need to be able to show that you're of legal age. Even an expired license contains your date of birth, and your photo, and thus is legal, valid proof of your age.

I think it's worth paying attention to how Trump reacts to things. Lots of people say "Trump should do this," and "Trump should do that," and we base it on our limited knowledge.
We don't know what he knows.
If he's NOT taking some action we think he should take, our first inclination is he's missing his chance. Except maybe he isn't. Maybe part of what he knows is there's going to be a reckoning on HIS time frame, and he's damned confident he's going to have plenty of time, after November 3.

I liked Cheyenne, its sort of a hybrid of western and modern, downtown and surrounding area is very clean but real estate market is surprisingly a bit high. The government district is immaculate. When I visited virtually no one was wearing masks, but I also had to endure the insane wildfire smoke that blew in from fuckifornia. Wind is a real issue for those who hate it

I lived in Reno when I briefly escaped the Bay Area for a few years, it wasn't bad and the people were nice. Super hot in the summer, but the snow in the winter seemed wonderful to me, having never experienced seasons before.

yeah, it can be windy out there. I used to go to Gillette for work quite often. It's a couple hours north of cheyenne. nice country out that way. flat but on the plateau. not a lot of trees outside of town. from what i recall.
