Steele's "Primary Subsource" Was... Employee of Leftwing Democrat Think Tank The Brookings Institute, Which Itself Was a Major Pusher of the Russiagate Conspiracy Hoax

He had a criminal background -- and had previously been prosecuted by... Rod Rosenstein.

For public drunkeness.

How public drunkeness and disorderly behavior becomes so outrageous that a fed prosecutes it, I can only speculate.

But hey, he's a sloppy drunk. So we should totally trust his "research."

I guess Rosenstein (that sweetheart!) overlooked Danshenko's prior record of unreliable criminality when he signed that FISA warrant based on this con artist's claims.

The mysterious "Primary Subsource" that Christopher Steele has long hidden behind to defend his discredited Trump-Russia dossier is former Brookings Institution analyst -- Igor "Iggy" Danchenko, a Russian national whose past includes criminal convictions and other personal baggage ignored by the FBI in vetting him and the information he fed to Steele, according to congressional sources and records obtained by RealClearInvestigations. Agents continued to use the dossier as grounds to investigate President Trump and put his advisers under counter-espionage surveillance.

In an odd twist, a 2013 federal case against Danchenko was prosecuted by then-U.S Attorney Rod Rosenstein, who ended up signing one of the FBI's dossier-based wiretap warrants as deputy attorney general in 2017.
Danchenko first ran into trouble with the law as he began working for Brookings -- the preeminent Democratic think tank in Washington -- where he struck up a friendship with Fiona Hill, the White House adviser who testified against Trump during last year's impeachment hearings. Danchenko has described Hill as a mentor, while Hill has sung his praises as a "creative" researcher.

Yeah I'll bet.

Hill is also close to his boss Steele, who she'd known since 2006. She met with the former British intelligence officer during the 2016 campaign and later received a raw, unpublished copy of the now-debunked dossier.

By the way, AllahPundit continues linking Brooking's blog Lawfare, which of course was a very prominent vector of the Russian conspiracy theory hoax.

He just did so this week. He's Hot Air's official Bulwark-linker and Lawfare-linker.

And Damon Linker-linker.

Basically, any lefty or NeverTrumper Hot Air links? Probably a Drunk Atheist C*ck special.

He continues to whine about the right allegedly canceling people (it's not canceling Colin Kaepernik to not hire him, and it's not cancelling people to insist the NFL enforce its "no political messages during games" rule against the left as it does against the right -- and it's not "canceling" anyone to insist on a certain decorum while physically present at their jobs -- while failing to notice that his drunken depressive atheist leftwing ass hasn't been cancelled by the right yet.

Enforcing a workplace rule of long standing is not the same as firing someone for speech they make in their private capacity as a free citizen.

Which is what the left does.

But the drunken propagandist can't admit that. As is the case with all of his leftwing Twitter "pals," the only two answers permittable are, 1, Conservatives are wicked and wrong, or 2, both sides are to blame.

The algorithm does not permit "the left is solely to blame." That's just not allowed.

That's racist, in fact.

Of course, he won't leave Hot Air because he knows that no leftwing site will hire him. He's #Cancelled there.

But he'll claim "both sides do it" even as he takes conservatives' money to type up leftwing propaganda he got from leftwing sources on Twitter.

I see three paths of varying likelihood:

1) Gov Cuomo is held to answer for the massive death toll in NY. He refuses to come quietly. NY is held to be in insurrection.

2) Weinstein/ Epstein scandals end up engulfing members of the media elite. The DOJ ends up seizing one or more channels via the military.

3) Trump finally gets sick of all the total horseshit and cracks down on Chinese influence, starting with Bloomberg News.

Again, some more likely than others, but anyone who thinks Trump will keep playing defense just because he has done so since the Inauguration are betting their lives on it.

I don't grok that either. Seems like he's got an airtight case that would do some real damage to PROGDA, but for some reason, Nick and his legal team aren't using it to full advantage.

PROGDA needs to be dismantled, the stones scattered and the ground beneath it salted. Pussyfooting around when the law is on his (and America's) side seems unusual.

There's only one reason I can think of to take it easy now and that's to get the others to let their guard down.

Agree. Not impressed by either movie, which I haven't seen since they came out. For me, "Taxi Driver" was almost purely an NYU Film School buzz movie. The critics orgased over it, but I don't know anyone in Normal Life who actually liked it. "The Shining" was artistically made, and has a couple of scenes that I will never be able to get out of my head, unfortunately, but what about the malevolent topiary? And the hero ending? Also not really a Jack Nicholson fan. The objective shouldn't be to eat the scenery.

I'm evangelical, and we often kneel at prayer meetings, and I know some mainstream Protestants and also Catholics kneel for prayer and communion. These are all God-centered acts of kneeling. 247 Working nights for a couple week and got to watch the portland protests (before they turned into the inevitable riots) on livestream last night. One of the prominent speakers complained about how he was oppressed because he didn't get to win a superbowl ring with the Eagles because he sided with Kaepernick. Really tore at the heartstrings.

The guy that followed talked about he went to jail for gang crimes but promised to never shoot at his own kind again. He didn't address whether or not he was open to shooting other kinds.

I'm watching the Reds/Tigers game. Some of the Tigers took a knee during the Anthem and I'm quite angry. I stopped watching the NFL when Kaepernick started his shit but I really, really love baseball. I trained for over half my military career to go to war with Marxist fucks and now I'm getting it shoved down my throat in my own country.

I spend a couple grand a year between Spring Training, Regular Season games, and assorted merchandise. I think a good compromise for me would be to watch them on the tube but not spend another dime on them. I am thoroughly disgusted.

273 I stopped going to HA pretty soon after Michelle sold it primarily because of AP. Most of the articles skewed SO lefty that it was not the site I had known and loved for years. Then they "cancelled" the comments after those being a great place of free speech and debate for all that time.
Ed was always a squish but tolerable. But it seemed AP became the dominant voice even tho it was bought by PGM. When Trump announced it went off the rails never trumper so that was the end for me.
AP wont leave but why they dont marginalize or get rid of him and bring back a formerly great site is beyond me. Not my $ so not my choice but sheesh it cant generate that many "hits' to justify the loss of what was a large, loyal, regular readership. Guess they got a bunch of rino/gopE luvies to follow them?

This is correct. But it carries with it a corollary -- once the election is over, the calculation changes. If Trump wins, he can intensify the Federal push-back (though still no shooting).
