Fat Clown Jimmy Kimmel Avoiding Cancellation Over Blackface, N-Word Use, Because Leftwing

I was told these things were forbidden and would result in automatic, permanent exclusion from employment if I were to do them.

But, he's leftwing, so it's all fine.

Jimmy Kimmel, who urged actor Tom Arnold to release an alleged "N-word" tape of President Trump in 2018, admitted years ago that he imitated rapper Snoop Dogg's voice for a track in a 1996 Christmas album -- an original song in which Kimmel used the "N-word" several times.
The admission came in a January 2013 podcast obtained this weekend by Fox News. In the podcast, Kimmel also changed his speech pattern in an attempt to adopt the voice of black comedian George Wallace, in what host Adam Carolla called Kimmel's "crazy black voice." Kimmel acknowledged imitating black people on other occasions as well.
Kimmel, who is slated to host the Emmy Awards this year, announced last week that he's taking the summer off amid a brewing blackface controversy; he has not issued an apology.

I think this is silly but: Your Rules.

Blogging is going to be more superficial than normal for the next two days. My work computer had a bad hard drive error and seemed dead. It later booted, but I'm assuming that it's on the verge of failing forever. So I'm not using that until I can get it looked at. And then I'll just use it to copy my old passwords so I can enter them on a new one.

Now I'm using an old computer which is itself wonky and running slow.

"The Man" show was his first TV show, IIRC.

I used to watch clips of Krystal Ball's show on Youtube for a period there, but the new "conservative" guy just seemed to go along with whatever Krystal said. He would never rebut her leftwing talking points.

I have had 2 friends commit suicide. Cannot imagine what it was like for their families. It was absolutely shocking to me. Such sadness.

It's no coincidence that these numbers are heavy on 'college-educated' women who go into academia and get fed a diet of twisted beliefs that tell them their value as 'good' or 'bad' people rests on their positions on social issues. 330 Ace, they've got cool and cheap little HD clone "toasters" that will have you up and running in less than an hour. I use these things all the time for folks at the office.

You just pull out your old HD, plug it in the toaster along side your new one, and push the button. It will take everything and put it onto your new, faster drive (be it a regular HD or SSD). Best time to do it is when your drive is still functioning!

I just replaced my 5 year old SSD with a new one, but having a PC I didn't use the toaster. Samsung's software is great, took all of 15 minutes I think. Western Digital also has some pretty good software, but the toasters are easy for those who don't do computerese. The toasters do different sized drives, and are smart enough to understand you're going to want a bigger drive.

SSDs are like most flash memory, the chips have a fairly predictable life-span, measured by read/write cycles (which of course, you can't ACTUALLY measure). Once they hit that mark, they fail fairly soon afterwards. The thing is, a lot of folks replace them long before they hit the fail point, just to get larger sizes as the prices drop.

This isn't as true as it was 15 years ago. If you want longevity, though, you need to spend and it adds up quick. The modern 3D or quad-cell NAND is pretty quick (not as quick as other technologies, but much quicker than spinning rust) but doesn't hold up nearly as well as lower-density technologies. Plus side, though, is it is quite cheap.

if you're worried about write-heavy workloads, get true enterprise-grade SSDs. They usually use single (somewhat rare) or double-level technology. The density isn't there (capacities are lower) but they hold up very well at this point. You can get massive write/rewrite reliability but you need to be in the "enterprise" space.

Why I just did a routine replacement of my 7 year old 500GB SSD (I was thinking it was 5, but nope, 7). It was well past its best by date. With Samsung's software, it took like 15 minutes to clone to a new 1TB SSD.

I'm lucky, in almost 40 years of computers (although only 35ish with HD's!) I've only had one catastrophic failure of an HD. And, that was entirely my fault. Brand new Maxxtor (are they even around?) died after I transferred all my data to it - and I was stupid enough to format the old drive already. This was 2003. I think I got a quote of around $4k to retrieve the data. So, I lost years of work files. Now I have redundant everything, but with the cost of drives the way they are, no excuse. Heck, when BH runs a sale on drives you can put together a screaming NAS for a few hundred bucks.

Real racing is over a 'natural' course with ups and downs and rights and lefts.

Car racing imitated horse racing and horse racing started with ovals cause that was easier to watch in the days before tv and quicker to win or lose your bets.

With cars, it's mostly an endurance run. It requires some expertise and of course mechanical superiority but driver skill is limited. (not that anyone can do it).

That's whats exasperating about Nascar. Not only have they had non white drivers since the 50's( they have had seven black drivers in the series) but they have had a program called Drive for Diversity for over a decade. The program helps minorities get opportunities to race and support for their teams that white teams don't receive. It produced Wallace, and Daniel Suarez. There are numerous female drivers in Nascar's lower tier series that get virtually no attention, but once Danica Patrick decided to move into the top tier of Nascar, one would have thought she was the first female driver ever. Nascar is completely preoccupied now with serving their corporate sponsors and advertisers and the racing is secondary. I don't know how they get out of that hamster wheel they are on, but they did this to themselves. When virtually every track was expanded to include 100,000 seats and owners could field three teams each, and the driver owned team went down the drain, Nascar lost much of it's appeal to anyone not completely enchanted with advertising. And Phelps thinking that the next generation of fans is coming from a younger demographic of consumerism is delusional. They may find a cursory interest from minorities and a younger set, but when those people have to watch a race such as next weeks double header at Pocono which is one of the most boring tracks out there outside of Michigan(both are simply fuel strategy tracks, yawn) the interest will quickly wane.

What almost got me was the way Depression magnifies your defeats and minimizes your victories. Life becomes a gray, colorless, pointless slog. It's just pain and misery with no hope of recovery. Anything that might help you looks impossible. People telling you to cheer up and that things aren't as bad as they seem feels like either naivet� or mockery.

I got within seconds of checking out, and was repeating "I hate my life" like a mantra as I loaded my gun. As I snapped the cylinder in, it changed to "I hate the world". In that moment, I had an epiphany. I didn't hate my life, I hated my circumstances.

I had a new purpose - leave. Go anywhere else.

I did, and life improved immediately.

Sometimes the problem is as much without as it is within. Solve the part you can solve first, and it may help you defeat the other.
