Media Squee: Oh Em Gee You Guys, Lifetime Republican and Top Conservative Colin Powell is Supporting a Democrat for President!!!!!

The propaganda organizations are really pushing the idea that "longtime conservative" Colin Powell isn't voting for Trump, and dares to say so.

Wow, someone on the corporate tit due to his liberal leanings and broad, bland acceptability to the white Professional Managerial Class has the courage to oppose Trump? I never thought I'd see the day.

Of course... the media forgets to mention that Colin Powell made this same Stunning and Brave declaration that he was supporting a Democrat over a Republican in 2008, when he endorsed Obama over the "extreme" John McCain.

Then in 2012 he made the Stunning and Brave break from Republican orthodoxy when he again endorsed Obama over the severely conservative Mitt Romney.

In 2016, just when Colin Powell's membership in and adherence to the Republican Party could not possibly be stronger, he shocked the world by making the Stunning and Brave announcement that he would vote for Hillary Clinton (stunning and brave in her own right, it must be said) over Trump.

So now in 2020... wow, we're all just, well, Stunned at the Stunning and Brave announcement that the man who's been supporting Democrats for sixteen fucking years is continuing to support Democrats.

By the way, even when he was a nominal "Republican" -- he was frequently hailed by the media for his Stunning and Brave attacks on his alleged fellow Republicans.

For being racist, of course.

Colin Powell had a clear shot to become the first black President after his performance during the Gulf War. Inexplicably, he chose not to - if I remember the reason, it had something to do with not putting pressure on his wife.

130 Honestly? Powell endorsing Obama was no surprise, and not for racial reasons. He's been trying to frantically scrub away the stain of the Bush record (who can blame him?), and so endorsed every post Bush Democrat.

Thing is, now the Bushes and McCains are endorsing Biden. So they're chaining the record of failure to the man while expecting the lack of "endorsements" to hurt Trump. It's doing the opposite. All it says is that Cheeto Hitler is a much more reliable Republican than any "leader" since Reagan, and that the Uniparty is so terrified of what's coming that they're throwing their careers away.

Posted by: JackStraw at June 08, 2020 03:30 PM (ZLI7S)

The odd combination of what they are doing is... well odd. These kinds of tactics work when there is a lot of apathy and people are living their lives in their bubbles where the government does not affect them much.

At the same time, they are trying their damnedest to push riots into non-urban areas (not well, but they are trying.) This is not a good way to make/keep people apathetic.

Consider the source AlaBAMA. And also look at the polls on questions unrelated to Trump but related to the riots. Those polls show the Democrat position being absolutely crushed. It is why today, Dems are trying to walk back their defund the police position and are trying their hardest to frame what is going on as "mostly peaceful protests".

The thing is, whether the press likes it or not, the pictures of the riots are out there and will be used.

184 So I see that WHO is now saying that asymptomatic people are not spreading the Chinese virus, and that's it's "rare" for an asymptomatic person to spread it to somebody else.

But the Karens are still demanding that everybody must wear a mask, even though they are not healthy for many people, and the vast majority of people have no virus symptoms, so the masks are accomplishing nothing (except virtue signalling, of course).

This is stupid, and has been stupid the whole time. Everything the public was told about how the virus was transmitted has since been contradicted by the same "experts" who told us the virus "facts" in the first place. People need to just throw away the masks, pull up those stupid "one way only" arrows in the store aisles, and just get back to normal life.

And never, ever trust another "expert" again!

It's interesting to compare today's generals to yesteryears. Lee went home after the war and became the president of Washington college, later to become Washington and Lee college.

Swarzkopf declined in retirement to run for political office and became a supporter of children's charities and sat on the board of the Nature Conservancy.

General Honore declined to run for political office, but instead came out of retirement to handle the post Katrina debacle. Then went back into retirement.

Colin Powell's endorsement: less a vote for Obama than a vote against Romney

Powell backing Obama again is no surprise, but speaks volumes about how far right the GOP has moved under Mitt Romney

Lacking a Sister Souljah moment during which he might have taken on his own side, Romney has shown himself to be a prisoner to his increasingly eccentric and extreme base. Whether it's GOP Senate candidates Richard Mourdock and Todd Akin disparaging rape survivors, Rush Limbaugh referring to Georgetown student Sandra Fluke as a "slut" and a "prostitute" after she spoke in support of mandating insurance coverage for contraception, or Donald Trump demanding Obama's college transcripts, Romney has chosen polite distance over forthright denunciation, preferring to cajole than confront.

Powell's endorsement of Obama signals that we are a step closer to seeing the extinction of a breed for which there is clearly a market, but which Republicans are no longer keen to produce.

And would have not have cared one whit if someone were to die at the hands of police officers enforcing lockdown orders.

Remember when the Left was hoping for COVID-19 to kill people who were defying lockdown orders?

And then with the snap of their fingers, police went from their heroes to being part of systemic racism that has been running rampant in this country since its founding.

That's some big time fucking whiplash in changing one's public stance about the nation's police.

The irony is that if they get their way in abolishing the police, who exactly do they expect to protect them from all the evil legal gun-owners in this country, that they actually believe are the real problem outside of police officers.

And who exactly do they think will enforce the new laws they want to pass to take away everyone's icky guns?

Couple that with a constant barrage of scripted appearances by Gropey Joe burbling about "unity" and "healing" and people will be gaslighted into voting for him, because the underlying message will be, "vote for the Democrat and this all goes away."

Apparently, a lot of retired generals can't divorce themselves from the DC party circuit, go home and do something else with their life.

I could go on but the point is made.

So remind me why people are kneeling? Is it the Kaperdick thing? If so SanFranNan is kneeling against the flag?

Posted by: It's me donna at June 08, 2020 03:41 PM

Let's all remember exactly what Kraperdick's original statement and message was:

https://bit.ly/2MChaCG

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

So he explicitly states that the American flag represents a country that oppresses "Black people and people of color".

So he actually was not disrespecting the flag, he was disrespecting the entire United States of America. Accusing this country of systemic oppression of Blacks and people of color. In 2016.

That is how this all started in August 2016.

Ironic that at that point in time, America had not only elected, but re-elected a Black man as President, had a Black attorney general, had a Black man on the US Supreme Court, had 3 major sports leagues which offered the opportunity for thousands of Black men to become millionaires for playing a game, had universities across the country with affirmative action policies to offer more opportunities for Blacks and people of color to receive a college education, etc.

But, yeah, this nation oppresses Blacks and people of color.

Everyone should have adamantly told Kraperdick and anyone else supporting him to fuck right off and explained loudly and repeatedly how totally fucking wrong he was.

Instead, here we are 4 years later and the entire fucking country is bending the knee to this bullshit narrative.

And a marxist domestic terror group has people bending the knee to them over the claim that there is systemic racism by the nation's police and Blacks are "hunted" and Blacks die in disproportionate numbers compared to Whites at the hands of police.

When a whole 9 people last year were killed by police.

Nine.

People are bending the knee over 99.99% of police interactions ending without a death.

What a stupid fucking time to be alive...

389 I am optimistic, then I am not. I keep thinking that people will see through this BLM charade for what it is. Then I went to the market yesterday, half the people are still wearing masks. And they are really into it - bottles of disinfectant in their carts, keeping the distance 10 feet or better, jumping out of the way if you happen to cross their paths. This is now over 3 months and they still think this germ is out there hanging about ready to lunge. Depressing.

Down here, maskfaced sheep are outnumbered. They still have those idiotic shopping lanes in the grocery stores, but everybody ignores them now. I know I do. In fact, I reported a Publix Karen for yelling at me to their HQ. There are a few still, but their numbers are dwindling.

I don't know why anyone would think the unrest would stop if Biden won. BLM, antifa, Ferguson, Trayvon, and on and on all came under Obama/Biden. They just got called back to the party but this is not a Trump thing, Obama's entire administration was about causing conflict and damaging race relations.

Posted by: JackStraw at June 08, 2020 04:00 PM

Yep, that was no coincidence either. That all started under Obama, because Obama incited it and inspired it. From his inauguration prayer of "making white be right" or some such bullshit and then his "cops acted stupidly" beer conference crap.

There was obviously a wink-wink agreement with every radical black supremacy group in the country that if they could find an incident to hype, they would be allowed to do so with the full support of the Obama Administration and all the radical people in it.

All that stopped under President Trump, because (1) they knew they didn't have Obama in office to cover for them anymore and (2) Trump Adminstration economic policies allowed them to get back to work.

Not to mention, Trump reached out to Black community leaders and worked on prison reform.

There was no reason for any complaining anymore.

Until the word was apparently put out this year for people to find something to use to stir shit up again in an election year.

Needless to say, people said it was an embarrassment for the 'c-level' folks.

A not-so-subtle distinction.
Normal English speaker: "He gave me a present" or "I gave him a present."
Idiot Millenial speak: "He gifted me a present" or "I gifted him a present."

In that context, it is a direct synonym. Its usage, though, tells you about the user.

Oh he tries to resist. It is like a little kid resisting taking a nap when they are dead tired. Slightly comical at this point to see his mental kabuki.

I keep waiting for him to snap and record a vid saying screw you all, I am voting trump. If it happens it will be glorious.

483 There are no good choices left, ace. As things stand now, we cannot both live freely and peacefully. It either is violent revolution, acts of dissent as happened at the racetrack, or keeping our heads down, melting into the crowd, and becoming invisible until the time to strike if it ever comes. The military, as the Administrative State before it, has cast its lot with the perceived strong horse, the Marxist Left. We really should have burned D.C. to the ground during the coup attempt. Instead we opted to pretend the Rule of Law still existed, and got the COVID hoax and now racial riots with the goal of white genocide.

I don't know whether dissent actually is on the table as it happened in the USSR only after Stalin was dead, and our Marxists have gone straight to Stalinism. I hope that's not the case, because the other two options are horrible, but it certainly appears to be so.
