Or even Bicep Day."The Batman" star Robert Pattinson told GQ magazine that he's not exercising at all while quarantined. "The Batman" star Robert Pattinson says he refuses to workout while quarantined, and thinks that people who exercise frequently are "part of the problem." "I think if you're working out all the time, you're part of the problem," Pattinson, who stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Matt Reeves' upcoming movie, said in a new cover story for the June/July 2020 issue of GQ magazine. "You set a precedent," Pattinson said of fellow actors. In related news, he was hired to be First Swabbie at The Dispatch, replacing Jim Swift, who was immediately demoted to his old position of Assistant Swabbie in Training. So anyway, they've now decided that Batman will be emasculated and androgynized. I smell a Kathleen-Kennedy-level success a-brewing here. I don't know if you saw this, but last week, the singer Adele posted pictures of herself after her weight loss -- she lost a lot of weight -- and was accused of "fat shaming" her fans who were still fat. This society is mentally ill and lunatic societies do not prosper. They usually don't even survive. Via Yellow Flash. BTW, I know there's a lot of news. "You set a precedent," Pattinson said of fellow actors.
++++++++++++ Yes, they do. If I am paying money I worked to earn on watching an entertainment product involving real people, I want them to look appropriate for the role. If you're playing someone who kicks ass for a living, you should be ripped and know how to throw a punch. If you're someone who's a femme fatale, you should be sexy. Etc. I can look at normal people all day every day. Wanna know why Hollywood stars are usually good looking and strong and the like? Because unless you're a truly phenomenal actor, no one is going to pay to look at you otherwise. The precedent that will be set if you don't deliver is "poor box office returns." This is, naturally, ridiculous. No matter how anybody feels about political correctness or such, Batman, AKA Bruce Wayne, as his character has always been written, is a workout machine. Of course he's built. He's a perfect physical specimen. He is laser focused on being the best he can possibly be, in both mind and body - to the exclusion of anything else. That IS his superpower. All he DOES is work out. And when he's not working out he's studying. Actually scratch that, he probably studies WHILE he is working out. And when he's not working out or studying, he's developing specific, detailed plans to neutralize and/or kill everyone he's ever met. Just in case he needs to.

Her sword work was good. Not long on raw strength, but enough to kill. Brilliant shield technique combined with her small size made her nearly impossible to land a hit on. I managed it *once*, over the course of years of training. You may as well have been trying to hack at a tank for all the good it did. (an equivalent shield for someone my size would be a hood from a 1960s Cadillac, so I couldn't replicate the style if I wanted to.) Find the bind, cover key lines, and try to get an angle that allows you to strike your opponent without being struck in turn. Posted by: Colorado Alex In Exile at May 13, 2020 04:35 PM (SgjGX) 606

Posted by: Colorado Alex In Exile at May 13, 2020 04:35 PM (SgjGX) Exactly that. A lot of my bag of tricks basically revolved around positioning my opponent until he gave up an angle for one of the shots I was good at. Posted by: Cato, Collectivism Delenda Est at May 13, 2020 04:39 PM (J+mig) 607

So a man who is a master of pretty much every known martial art and in what would be the pinnacle of human physical conditioning.....so he doesn't get killed as he regularly fights armed hardened criminals with little more than some gadgets and his fists, shouldn't be visibly buffed?
So a character whose backstory puts his *necessary* physique someplace between a male gymnast and an NFL linebacker in order to be even reasonably believable shouldn't look buff on camera? Because SJW. This is the final death of art. When it becomes a tool of power. Posted by: mikethemoose at May 13, 2020 04:49 PM (Y6UV7) 609
Damn, I hate that i'm so late to this thread, but unlike this pampered limey twat, I was working out. Why, because I'm in a job that sometimes calls for physical fitness, and I'm also not going to be a soft pussy when my daughters reach teenage years.
The Adele controversy is as pathetic as the Peloton girl controversy; it's all ginned up by miserable fat women who want everyone to be miserable and fat too. Joe Rogan called it right; you don't get to recast what society views as attractive to match how you look. Posted by: UGAdawg at May 13, 2020 04:54 PM (tRd71) 610

Great. We get yet another origin story.
