I keep saying it because I keep believing it, but this is the absolute perfect time for this revelation to come out.
It's about fomenting discontent within the party. Highlighting divisions and encouraging a fight.
If this had come out earlier, Biden could have just disappeared and the party would have coalesced around someone else.
If this had come out later (say after the convention), then the party would have completely ignored it.
Coming out now? When Biden is only the presumptive nominee and there are still primary races to be run? Bernie Bros (but not Bernie himself because he's a little bitch) want the nomination for their own guy, and they feel like there's still hope of it happening. They'll feed this story as long as possible, making life within the party harder and harder.

Meh, it tried to mix three very different things....

He's not the best they could do by a long shot. A lot of the no name candidates would have been better.
The problem was that the field was too large for anyone to really gain enough traction against Biden's name recognition. And then, as the newest establishment favorite (from Harris to Buttigieg) faltered, Biden remained at or near the top of the pack.
Biden was their only real choice once he got in. The Establishment had to pick him after Harris spent months on the campaign trail only to get completely undone by a single exchange with Tulsi Gabbard.
This was the Republican primary of 2016 all over again. Name recognition won.

I think the Establishment has resigned itself to Biden, hoping to make the best of it.
The problem is that the race isn't actually over. The noise in the party isn't coming from the Establishment, which is circling wagons around Biden, but from the activist wings of the party, namely the true believer feminists and Bernie's supporters (but not Bernie because he's a little bitch). They know there's opportunity to replace Biden within the rules. They just have to fight him by convincing him to drop out or getting the remaining primary voters to go against him.
Neither is terribly likely, but neither was the faithless elector bullshit and people tried that on for size anyway.
The timing of this feels designed to tear the party apart.

Case in point, my congressman. This is one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. Honest as the day is long. He would rather cut off his arm than look at a woman other than his wife.
A pastor with a MA in communications. I would trust this person with my grandchildren. He never made more than 25K per year in his life, so the 175K he's getting now is beyond his wildest dreams.
However, I don't believe he could find his ass with both hands. The thought that this is the person representing me while trillions of dollars are being raised and spent keeps me awake at night. He's a solid as a rock conservative, but there are smart conservatives then there are conservatives like him.
Of course, there are far more brain addled democrats in congress, but we've got them too.

I think a lot of spritely active healthy 60 and 70 year olds are sick and tired of being lumped in with the dying nursing home residents most of whom have terrible illnesses and underlying health issues.

The federal govt has issued a total of $1.17T in new debt in the last month alone. Debt held by the public stands at $18.93T.
It increased 1.1T in one month.
Now, that's the real money borrowed from the bond market. If you throw in the fake trust funds, known as intragovernmental debt (which is just accouting fiction), total public debt stands at $24.85T.
Now, it appears they aren't spending it, 'cause Uncle has over $1T in the fed account.
They've been issuing debt like crazy and just parking the cash in the fed "checking account".

I have a relative, near the lower end of the at risk age range. Lots of health problems, many of them mental.
Sends lots of emails warning of the need for social distancing and all that.

I really believe we can shoot for more. Out of all the people in my district, I know there are honest, intelligent people who are proven problem solvers. People who can read and understand a certain level of legaleze and who can out think their ambitious staffers.
For my part, I don't think for a moment that all the people in congress are thieves and crooks. I'm certain that the majority are honest and want the best for the country. However, there is a total disconnect between who would be best in the office and who gets elected.

I just wonder if this some coordination with the Fed to try to keep the money supply from blowing up. Fed is shitting money everywhere into private sector areas, and I wonder if they're trying to counter that somehow.
