Christian Student Forced to Recite Islamic Conversion Vow As Some Kind of Conversion Role-Play Appeals Case to Supreme Court
But this is cool.During the 2014-2015 school year, a Christian teenage girl was forced to recite the Islamic conversion creed -- the Shahada -- in writing for her 11th-grade class. She was also taught that "Most Muslims' faith is stronger than the average Christian." The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) sued the school responsible, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled with the school. TMLC appealed to the Supreme Court, filing a Writ of Certiorari on Monday. "Under the guise of teaching history or social studies, public schools across America are promoting the religion of Islam in ways that would never be tolerated for Christianity or any other religion," TMLC President and Chief Counsel Richard Thompson said in a statement. "I'm not aware of any school which has forced a Muslim student to write the Lord's Prayer or John 3:16: 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'"Islam is now the default state religion of America. Quite against the Constitution and all American history and tradition, but don't worry -- Your elites are elitin'.
"Many public schools have become a hotbed of Islamic propaganda," Thompson argued. "Teaching Islam in schools has gone far beyond a basic history lesson. Prompted by zealous Islamic activism and emboldened by confusing court decisions, schools are now bending over backwards to promote Islam while at the same time denigrate Christianity." "We are asking the Supreme Court to provide the necessary legal guidance to resolve the insidious discrimination against Christians in our public schools," he concluded.

It seems to me the teacher is the typical ed school dummy, ineptly trying to give her class instruction in how the ragheads view themselves and their religion, and their position with it in western society.
The writing part of the exercise seems to be a stupid attempt by the teacher to drill into the student what the faith-confirmation process is like for a raghead.
So it doesn't seem as if the teacher is proslytising per se.
If the course contained similar presentations and written exercises for understandings of Christianity, Judaism, and Mormonism, the muzzie part would seem OK, if all were well-presented.
But again, the teacher seems a dope.

It seems to me the teacher is the typical ed school dummy, ineptly trying to give her class instruction in how the ragheads view themselves and their religion, and their position with it in western society.
The writing part of the exercise seems to be a stupid attempt by the teacher to drill into the student what the faith-confirmation process is like for a raghead.
So it doesn't seem as if the teacher is proslytising per se.
If the course contained similar presentations and written exercises for understandings of Christianity, Judaism, and Mormonism, the muzzie part would seem OK, if all were well-presented.

I think its the opposite. They think it does matter, just at an emotional level. They want that spirituality, that sense of something awesome and transcendent but not the actual icky religious bits. They see the importance of having something greater than yourself to inspire, they just reject God.
And I think they see in Islam a system that gives this sense without actually being a part of religion like a church.

A fact is an assertion that is capable of being proved. We can't prove that angels exist, let alone prove that one of them whispered messages from God into Mohammad's head. For all we know, Mohammad may have been imagining things, or hallucinating, or he may have just been lying.
Islam is a set of beliefs, just like every other religion. Telling kids it's "fact" is just outright fraud and educational malpractice.

There really isn't much that's emotional about it to be frank. It's about fulfilling requirements, magic words and purification rites.
To give an idea, a friend attended a Muslim funeral at our local big mosque. She said it was very brief and impersonal, a loudspeaker saying things like party A go to room 4, party C to room 5 etc. There was constant moving about in this fashion by many groups.
