Cory Booker: Gun Buyers Will Have to Sit and Chat With a Government Informant/Spy Before Buying Guns; Will Institute Mandatory "Buy-Back," Won't Say If People Will Be Jailed for Noncompliance

That's a yes.

Booker's proposal would, among other things, force Americans to have a sit-down interview with a federal government employee in order to purchase a firearm.

...

Booker also refused to say whether he would prosecute those who refused to comply with a gun buyback.

"We should have a law that bans these weapons and we should have a reasonable period in which people can turn in these weapons," Booker said.

Booker also claimed that Trump's Recovery was really just the culmination of Obama's Green Shoots and Recovery Summers 1-8.

He then immediately claimed the economy is not good -- does Obama get the blame for that, I wonder?

"You have people on my block [call T-bone] -- I'm the only presidential candidate that lives in a low-income inner-city neighborhood. Talk to folks, and they’ll tell you: 'I have to work two jobs just to try to keep myself in housing. And, by the way, that housing isn't reflected in any of my family,'"the Democratic presidential candidate told CNN. "Americans are struggling. Their wages are too low ... for the last four decades, I don't think they’ve budged that much ... We've got to make sure that this is a shared recovery, because, right now, it definitely is not."

So the Democrats are continuing with the contradictory claims: The economy is all due to Obama, and if you don't believe that, well, the economy also sucks (but that's not due to Obama).

We have too few immigration judges to give each one a hearing, so we give illegals access to the country and a notice to appear, which gets ignored 99.999999% of the time.

In contrast, if this unconstitutional requirement gets passed, there will be five feds "qualified" to do these interviews, and the only people who ever actually get an interview will be multimillionaires and friends of / donors to certain Democrat politicians.

205 hey. just for fun, someone tell me where the Constitution actually says there's a right to vote.

Hah! Trick question!

The various Constitutional Amendments were written to end the prohibition of certain individuals from voting.

At the time, it was the custom of white male property owners to vote and various state laws prohibited it, or at least taxed it. It wasn't until the 14th Amendment where it was recognized that males at least twenty-one years of age and not involved in rebellion or insurrection.

There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits illegal aliens from voting.

Interesting though, the 14th Amendment could be applied to prohibiting members of #Resist from voting.

"Booker's proposal would, among other things, force Americans to have a

They know damn well that an in person interview looking for demographics you don't want to do something is the most effective way to keep them from doing that something; in this case, they don't want their political opponents to be armed.

It would work pretty damn well to screen people for that particular purpose. Same way Israeli airport screening is damn effective and filtering out hostiles with a high dirka-dirka-boom coefficient.

Conversely, this is why we have TSA clowns instead of real airport security - it's not supposed to be effective, it's supposed to be visible and PC.

249 Yeah Barr seems like a very solid, and unflappable, AG. Good qualities at the moment. I wonder if the Espionage Act scandal will be revisited (legally) - seems Horowitz cemented that disgrace into DOJ/FBI's legacy. Also wonder if Barr will confront the yuuge but virtually ignored internal process scandal - appointment of a SC to begin with.

Leaving aside the SC's performance (itself a scandal, based on what we've seen, and know). I hope Nunes et al keep up with the systematic dissection of what seems to be a very artless Mueller job of ignoring almost all the actually pertinent matters as defined by the (illegitimate) original scope memo.

As for the 2nd amendment, it's effectively a dead letter, serves mostly as a clear example of the lawlessness of the judiciary so brazen that even legal cult members can recognize it. Amendment is extremely short, clear, and is among the most categorical bits of language in the constitution. Yet its trampled with impunity. Lawlessness and bad faith renders the judiciary effectively an illegitimate branch, even within its legitimate (tiny) scope of authority.

276 Way, way too many people who are not moonbats have been coasting along enjoying the benefits of others being armed without being armed themselves.

Most of those people really need to get a rifle, and a handgun, half decent instruction on how to use them, and at least 1k rounds and, say, 8 mags for each (keep half a dozen loaded). At typical retail prices is is about $2300, if you're getting basic modern equipment.

Get some form of workable radios. Get a serviceable light for every weapon; they can be had for about $100 a go.

If you still have money after that, do the rifle/pistol/mags/1k each thing again.

And if you have a boat, an RV, or a lake house, you can most likely afford a PVS-14 and an IR laser.

Sometimes they do in fact put hardcore homeless in extremely high end housing, at least in Chicago. Chicago Housing Authority has a program that pays thousands per month per apartment in luxury high rise buildings.

The welfare residents in those buildings behave exactly as expected, and the good liberals paying market rate find a million reasons why the bad behavior isn't the fault of the people committing the bad behavior.

I think there was a thread about a similar program in Washington D.C., where a nice historically significant apartment building is being turned to a public housing dump through a similar program.

Yep. The fringe candidates are only in it to collect loot, especially now that the "consulting" scam used by Shakyerbooty, OCrazyHo's puppetmaster, is more widely known.

You can't pockey campaign donations directly, but it is apparently perfectly legal to set up a for-profit "consulting company" that charges the campaign for "consulting", and then pocket that loot.

Same sweet deal that Oral Roberts figured out with his free bibles and books deal. Collected tax-free donations for the "free books", which then went to a for-profit publisher owned by... Oral Roberts.

429 14th amendment, Section 2

But when*** the right to vote*** at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state, or the members of the legislature thereof,** is denied** to any of the male inhabitants of such state, being twenty-one years of age, **and citizens of the United States**, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such state.

Fifteenth amendment:

The Fifteenth Amendment (Amendment XV) to the United States Constitution prohibits the federal government and each state from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude". It was ratified on February 3, 1870, as the third and last of the Reconstruction Amendments.
