Democrats Select Failed Gubernatorial Candidate and Unhinged Conspiracy Theorist Stacey Abrams to Deliver SOTU Rebuttal

The Democrats and the Media (but I repeat myself) is very much against any conspiracy theory they didn't think of themselves.

On Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told reporters that Stacey Abrams, who lost the Georgia governorís race in 2018, will deliver the Democratsí response to President Donald Trumpís State of the Union speech. Schumer said he and House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) both agreed that Abrams should give the response.

"She has led the charge for voting rights, which is at the root of just about everything else," Schumer said while making the announcement.

Abrams still refuses to concede the election, and has since launched a campaign to question the legitimacy of the results.

Remember when Democrats and left-wing media outlets freaked out when Trump wouldn't say if he would accept the results of the 2016 presidential election if Hillary Clinton won? Clinton herself said questioning the results of the election was "a direct threat to our democracy" on Twitter and in person.

...

After Clinton lost the election, however, she and her media supporters attempted to delegitimize Trump's win -- and they continue to do so today.

This isn't the only case of leftwingers now reversing themselves on Sacred Principles. As you know, for the past three years, Butterball Powerbottom has been claiming that any criticism of the press by Trump was a false and dangerous agitation against the very Constitutional scheme of self-government itself.

But then Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez started using the same attacks Trump uses, calling the media "Fake News" and disputing the small handful of fact-checks they've done on her pig-ignorant, I-saw-it-on-twitter-once claims.

And what did Butterball Powerbottom say then?

Well, he decided that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's press attacks were useful and necessary push-back against the press' biases.

And does the press have any biases that must be pushed back in Trump's case?

Naaah. Not at all.

See, they're too biased against Cortez, who they plainly love, and not biased at all towards Trump, who the plainly hate.

This reminds me of all the various criticisms of the press for being biased.

Oh, and it wasn't just conservatives saying the press was biased against them.

Blacks claimed the press was biased against them. The media decided that they were too biased against blacks, and pushed diversity hiring, and stopped reporting on the race of criminals, except if they were white, and in fact stopped reporting on crime altogether, except if the crime was committed by a white.

This was done because black activists claimed that crime reportage reinforced prejudiced attitudes about blacks.

Women claimed the press was biased against them, and the media again decided they were too biased against women, and pushed diversity hiring, and started pushing more "women-skewing" news and features, and pretty much became a PR firm for Planned Parenthood.

See, women claimed that reporting on abortion as if it was a controversial thing at all demeaned and harmed women. So the media stopped.

Muslims claimed the press was biased against them, and the media again decided they were too biased against Muslims, and pushed diversity hiring, and started pushing more "Muslim does good" news and features, and pretty much refused to report on the religious affiliation of any terrorist (unless he was a Christian, of course).

As was the case with black activists, Muslim activists said that reporting on Muslim crime (terrorism, here, of course) perpetuated negative stereotypes about Muslims that harmed them.

So the press said "Yeah we're biased against you" and changed.

Now, for forty years, conservatives have been making the case the press is biased against them.

And what is the press' response?

Go fuck yourselves, you're lucky we don't call you Nazis more frequently.

How strange it is that the leftwing press is willing to admit to a series of biases it does not have and yet be so damnably recalcitrant about the one bias it obviously does have.

One might even say, "Ah yes, it's a noted psychological phenomenon that people will admit to flaws they either don't have or barely have, or are pretty mild and unimportant, while getting angry and defensive if you bring up their real, serious flaws."

Or one might say: they are simply corrupt liars incapable of telling the truth.

And they are Enemies of the People.

Open thread. Early night. This dry air makes me wake up a lot during the night and I'm demolished the next day.

The Democrats poured a ton of money into the race, and all the Hollywood a@@holes came to the state and campaigned for her. Didn't help that Brian Kemp ran a lousy campaign - basically ignoring the Atlanta suburbs to appeal to the rural vote.

My guess is that she'll run against Johnny Issackson (sp) for the GA Senate seat. She has a good chance of winning that race too, especially given that Issackson is a bit of a RHINO.

226 I leave my TV on for my cat when I'm at work. The noise keeps her extra relaxed and lazy.

When I get home, it's on a show called the Goldbergs. I never change the channel except to my Roku, so I've seen it a bunch of times now.

It's surprising for a couple reasons. For one thing, it's good. I haven't had a network sitcom make me laugh... ever? It's probably why it has no laugh track.

Secondly, it's subversive. The dad is the hero of the show, the mom is the kooky comic relief. The sons and daughters are equally good and bad, like in real life. It doesn't have gratuitous and incongruous minorities sprinkled throughout. It doesn't have any NPC themes, but lots of heavy-handed emphasis on hard work, honesty and family.

I can't believe this shit is permitted on the air. This must be making the network a metric fuckton of cash. The party organs aren't supposed to allow this to continue without completely taking over creative control to enforce Socialist Realist aesthetic output.

Kidding--but it was childish. And as it turns out, some of Wakanda's citizens want to keep their insurance. Not to mention the 2 0r 3 million people who work in the industry. For her to imperiously decree the end of private insurance on a whim tells me she's not a serious person.

She has no accomplishments as a senator and as a prosecutor, she was wiretap-obsessed and used her office for to persecute political opponents. We just had 8 years of that. She seems to think she's entitled to the presidency by her brown lady-bits.

277 Sitting in a hotel watching Bloomberg Asia opening the Asian trading day and the talk is all about China and Trump. Very respectful towards Trump. Kind of hard to adjust to, given how the US press treats him.

China needs a trade deal, given how their economy is really starting to misfire in a serious way. The Chinese are going to make offers in the round of trade talks just starting this week, but Bloomberg Asia says no one on the American side believes a single word the Chinese say.

Trumps negotiators apparently think the Chinese are completely insincere and will say many things to make a deal, hoping the Americans will then overlook cheating that will start about an hour after the deal is signed. Not likely, mate.

still looking for amps.
The Zinc in pennies and Nickel in other coins conduct electricity too, but not nearly as well as the Copper.

Yep. Early '60's era before the British Invasion there were a bunch of American doo-wop bands. The female contingent were where The Supremes came from, though they weren't doo-wop, usually a lead and a couple of backup singers.

And that line, "Just like Ronnie says..." from that Eddie Money tune is because Ronnie Spector herself was singing on that song with him. "Be my little baby" is her.

386 According to wikipedia, Abrams is a romance novelist. Odd since I had her pegged as a LBN (lesbian by necessity). If she stopped shoveling bon-bons into her upper poop hole and hit the treadmill, she might have been able to have the reality instead of being forced to live in fantasy land. She's probably a fat rights activist who hates svelte white supermodels.

Oh, we came to town to see

That old tattooed lady

She was a sight to see

Tattooed from head to knee

My uncle Ned was there

He came to gape and stare

"I've never" he declared "Seen such a freak so fair!;

And on her jaw was the Royal flying corp

And on her back was the Union Jack, now could you ask for more?

All up and down her spine, were the queen's own guard in line

And all around her hips sailed a fleet of battle ships

And over her left kidney was a birds-eye view of Sidney

But what we liked best was upon her chest
