Portland Has a Serial Killer Suspected of Murdering Six Women -- and the Person of Interest is a Man That Former Democrat Governor Kate Brown Released from Prison Early

Decarceration means letting killers out of prison so that citizens have to imprison themselves in their homes.

Before she left office, Governor Kate Brown commuted the sentences of people in prison who behaved well while under lock and key. She released others who she were near the end of their sentences, and chose to shorten the "sentences of 912 nonviolent inmates at risk of contracting COVID, granted 130 pardons, cleared death row, and wiped away cannabis possession convictions of nearly 50,000 people," Willamette Week reported.

In December 2022 I wrote in PJ Media that when she was on her way out office, Brown abolished the death penalty.

And now: Tina Brown's partner-in-crime is the chief suspect in the slayings of six innocent women.

Law Enforcement Officials Suspect a Multnomah County Man Released Early From Prison Is a Serial Killer

Jesse Lee Calhoun is in custody but has not yet been charged in any of the deaths of six women earlier this year.

WW has learned that a Multnomah County man is a suspect in the killings of four of six women found dead earlier this year in the greater Portland metro area.

Several people familiar with ongoing investigations in multiple jurisdictions tell WW that detectives have linked four of the deaths to Jesse Lee Calhoun, whose most recent address is in Portland.

Serial killers are unusual, but Calhoun's case, according to people familiar with it, may be one of a kind.

That's because Calhoun, 38, is among the more than 1,000 inmates whom former Gov. Kate Brown granted clemency, allowing them to leave prison early. Of those Brown released early, officials believe Calhoun is the only one whose clemency has since been revoked.

Records show that Calhoun is currently in custody at Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario, where he was lodged July 6 on charges apparently unrelated to the murders. (The charges on which he is being held do not show up in online court records, which is unusual.) He has not yet been charged in any of the women's deaths, although officials expect that will change.

Calhoun, reportedly a talented artist who told booking officials he earned his living painting designs on vehicles, has a long record of felony convictions dating to 2004. After arresting him in 2018 with meth, several guns, and more than 500 rounds of ammunition, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office called him a "prolific thief and career criminal."

Brown used the Useful Crisis of Covid as a pretext to engage in mass releases of dangerous violent career criminals. (Note that the Useful Crisis of Covid was also used to make the Democrats' preferred form of voting -- fraudulent voting -- the rule in the nation.)

And six women were butchered.

Do we give her an Independent Spirit Award now or do we wait to see how many more murders are linked to this guy?

Meanwhile, a Soros DA in Alameda County, California is subject to a recall campaign, due to her refusal to lock up criminals.

She gave a rare interview to protest this.

She says the victims of the violent felons she frees just aren't appreciative enough of the "restorative justice" she's doing by setting killers free to kill more citizens.

YU: Family members of victims are saying that the decisions you have made are unfair to them, that sentences that criminals have been given are excessively lenient, and the perpetrators are favored over victims. What's your response to that?

PRICE: I feel ... definitely my heart goes out to the people who have lost loved ones in this community. Who is ... we at the District Attorney's office are very very committed to making sure that we're providing the best services. Some people are ... are not able to actually appreciate the work that we do.

Yeah, when your child has been murdered it's hard to appreciate the Soros DA who allowed your child's murderer on the streets.

Her PR person stopped the interview early. When the interviewer said she hoped she would make herself available for future interviews, she laughed and said, "I don't think so."

The fact that he uses a little murder here and there to unwind after a tough day shouldn't be held against him, right?

13 starting in the mid to late 1960s, the left started in with 'criminals are victims of racism and oppression and poverty.' in other words, it's because of capitalism. these people will never accept that they are wrong and will continue to believe that crime will end when capitalism is replaced with real socialism.

i recall obama in a debate with hillary in 2008 bringing up the clinton's failure to stick us with national health insurance, and she replied 'we learn from our mistakes.' this time they'll get it right.

It's a myth that people are in prison for personal use possession and nothing else. In the very few instances where people's records say they're in prison for simple possession, the fact is, they were allowed to plea down from more serious charges.

148 3,100 inmates to be released as Trump administration implements criminal justice reform
https://tinyurl.com/mr482e9c

Justice Department officials on Friday announced that 3,100 inmates are being released from federal prisons across the country because of a change in how their good-behavior time is calculated — a significant step, they said, in the implementation of a new criminal justice reform law.
The announcement came at a news conference to discuss the Trump administration’s progress on putting into place the First Step Act, a criminal justice bill President Trump signed into law in December. Officials also announced they were redirecting $75 million in funding for fiscal 2019 to help with implementation of the act and instituting a new system that will assess inmates’ risk of reoffending and provide tailored programming that could help them get out earlier

You have the RIGHT to do so (its inalienable), but you may not have the free expression of that right, as agreed to by society.

We freely agree as a culture to restrict free expression of our rights in order to create a stable, productive society. 167 US soldier detained after crossing North Korean border without permission

"The detainee has been identified as Travis King, a US Army member with the rank of private second class, reported South Korea’s Dong-a Ilbo newspaper, citing South Korea’s army.

King was taking part in a visit to the Joint Security Area — the border village in the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas that is guarded by soldiers from both sides — when he made the “deliberate decision” to cross the border around 3:27 p.m. local time, officials said."

191 But some rights rank higher than others, based on the situation.

There is a hierarchy of human rights, in which some are more urgent than others.

Life is tops, because if you are not alive, you have no rights at all.
Liberty is next, because if you have no liberty then you cannot exercise any rights.
Property is next, because if you can own nothing or call anything your own, how can you carry out your liberty?

It goes on like that. But the hierarchy isn't one of one being better than the other, rather that each of them are subject to the other rights being in place. The right to free expression is no less a right than the right to liberty, for example. Its just lower in the hierarchy because how can you express yourself if you have no liberty?

No rights are absolute. A person's liberty can be removed if they commit terrible crimes. A person's freedom of speech doesn't extend to fraud. A person's freedom to peacefully assemble doesn't grant them liberty to assemble in your living room without your permission. A person's right to self-defense doesn't grant them liberty to kill just because they're personally affronted or embarrassed.

This is a common misconception. All human rights are absolute, inalienable, and inherent to being a human being, having been granted by God. They cannot be removed or diminished.

However your free expression of those rights can be. A man thrown in jail still maintains the right to liberty, but his free expression of that right has been severely limited.

There are plenty of cases where cops have done horribly shitty things to black people who were legitimately innocent. Why aren't those people the face(s) of the racial "justice" movements? Further degradation of the social order?

Posted by: illiniwek at July 18, 2023 07:11 PM (Cus5s)

A) it is a property rights issue, the owner of a property has the ability to set standards of use. Something municipal owned libraries say they don't have the right to enforce. The problem seems to be an interpretation of "no laws to restrict 1A rights" without considering the use the facility is for. Even in private situations there have been problems, in Colonial MA Quakers were coming to disrupt Puritan services as a way to protest the Commonwealth's laws against Quakers, at times coming to Puritan church services naked in protest which was a real issue in the 1600s.
Even with the full force of law behind them, the commonwealth and the Puritan church did not want to execute them. But they did.
I don't think there is any real method short of imprisonment today if someone decided to disrupt your church service and would not be excluded, however, that is still a property right and a trespass issue, not a civil rights issue.

295 No rights are absolute.
Posted by: bonhomme at July 18, 2023 07:13 PM (V1QHJ)

Congratulations, you have figured out that lying, trespass and murder are not rights.
I hope it has not passed you by that no one thinks they are rights.
Rights are absolute. They do not allow an individual to violate other individuals' rights, because those rights are absolute too.

Where violation of someone else's rights is not avoidable, to use the classic "catch yourself on a flagpole on someone's balcony while plummeting to your death" form of trespass, there is an obligation for redress. Either compensation and penalty for trespass, or rent, or even the owner declaring a mulligan. This is needed to affirn ownership, and not ceding rights due to "common use" by the hordes of people falling to their deaths

Montesquieu I think/ We cede a portion of our rights to avoid anarchy which would be terrible to suffer.

A deeply maligned author made rebuttal to this:

A plan of this kind, the preliminary of which should be an abolition of all the present parish laws, seems to be the best calculated to increase the mass of happiness among the common people of England. To prevent the recurrence of misery, is, alas! beyond the power of man. In the vain endeavour to attain what in the nature of things is impossible, we now sacrifice not only possible but certain benefits. We tell the common people that if they will submit to a code of tyrannical regulations, they shall never be in want. They do submit to these regulations. They perform their part of the contract, but we do not, nay cannot, perform ours, and thus the poor sacrifice the valuable blessing of liberty and receive nothing that can be called an equivalent in return.

Thomas Malthus, 1798
