2 Good Morning Morons. Today is Friday, February 19, 2016. On this day in 1807 former Vice President of the United States Aaron Burr was arrested for treason in Wakefield, Alabama and confined to Fort Stoddert. He was later acquitted but he was guilty as hell on several scores.

She said "Eeeew...that ASSHOLE?!?"

So I say "What, like Trump isn't?!?"

Can't argue that some Trump fanbois are WAY over the top.

I
will say, however, that more than a few Cruzers are just as bad, if not
worse. They accept parts of Rafael's story that would disqualify any
other candidate -- and have a taint of Choom Boy about them -- as
meaningless.

And MrScribbler's post points out something important... it ain't just Trump Super Fan who pees in the pool.

Such individuals are capable of rational conversation until... seemingly out of nowhere like a weirdly political Tourette Syndrome... Rafael!, Canadian!!!, sooper, double plus secret amnesty booster!!!!!! pops out.

Unfortunately did not get to this thread until late last evening but absolutely superb observations Ace.

I
know and have worked with many of the party and "establishment" folks
personally. In fact you would consider me part of the party
establishment by most measures. Let me disavow you of the notion that
these people are interested in negotiating with or addressing the
grievances of the other wings of the party. They are not. They are
interested in unconditional victory over the Cruz and Trump wings of the
party with Marco Rubio at the head of their banners.

Again, I
know these people. If Rubio ultimately prevails (very possible if Trump
and Cruz continue to split the rebel votes) they will not learn any
lessons from this. They will not regard it as a close call or an
opportunity to reevaluate status quo positions and "listen" to their
voters. They will regard it as total victory and they will rub your face
in it. They will tell stories and sing songs of the time they stopped
the barbarians at the gate and "saved" the party. It will be the
greatest thing they ever participated in related to politics. Trust me
on this and act accordingly.

I'm ok with the Cruz led rebellion
and I'm ok with the Trump led rebellion but I disagree with Ace that
these are (at present) equal size factions. I have yet to see Cruz poll
above 25% in just about any major, recent state or national poll (NBC
outlier notwithstanding). As long as Cruz has a credible path to the
nomination, more power to him but that window may close sooner for him
than for Trump. Once/If that happens, Cruz voters will have a choice -
Trump or Complete Establishment victory in the form of Marco Rubio. Do
not fool yourselves that you have other less Binary options. You don't.

182 There's a joke in there somewhere about NBC and chickens and peacocks.

===

Not that it matters but there is an old superstition about peacock feathers and theatre that extended towards TV in its early years. If there were peacock feathers on the set or even pictured in the program or posters it was considered bad luck and a guaranteed flop.

183 I wonder if Trump employs any illegal immigrants at any of the properties he owns/manages. Illegals wouldn't come if they couldn't find work. "

First off. The vast majority of illegals have phony work papeers, SSN's etc. If and it is a big if the documents can be verified as phony the person should not be hired.

Second. Again the vast majority of phony documents can not be verified as phony due to your own federal goober'mint.

Thirdly. If you refuse to hire someone because you "think" they are ilegal be prepared for a zillion lawsuits, mostly agian from your own federal goober'mint.

You will lose and end up without a cent to your name.

And your point is?....
You know Trump is an asshole. You LIKE that Trump is an asshole. It is almost that whole basis of his attraction that he is perceived as an asshole who doesn't take shit from anyone.

That is a matter of opinion but it is an opinion that is widely held by his friends and foes alike.
That is quite different than spewing supposed "facts" that aren't facts at all despite correction from both lowly posters and COBs. And it is quite different than personally attacking posters here who don't agree with you (and by you, I don't mean you personally... as I said, this only applies to some Trump supporters. ).

I don't see why the age of the wall has anything to do with it. Frankie basically wants open borders for the New World Order (heedless of consequences, just like all leftists) and lives behind a wall at home just like anti-gun politicians are surrounded by armed guards.

The it's time to think of the good *****

This is the clinical depression road. We both know it and we know where it can lead. If you've ever been a survivor of someone who committed suicide (and a number of us here have been) we know how absolute crappy it is. Even if you only knew the person not terribly well (The were your not really close colleague, your distant next door neighbor) you STILL feel guilty. It's exponentially (sp?) worse if you're their brother, sister, child, friend because you spend too much time thinking, "If only I's be able to do something) It's a hell of load for someone to get through-and particular for any young person or teen. Hell, i don't even know if my father took his life and I still spent years feeling guilty

You're a smart, funny, decent man, IS. You have a lot of talents. Whatever the current situation is, or was it doesn't sum up who YOU are.

Sorry to be so direct here, but it needs to be said NOW and I don't even know if you're reading your e-mail (and I have to go soon). i tend not to read it when i get depressed.

We are about each other here and I'm not the only one who cares about you.

I'll leave it at that;

Sure. I was just saying, Tromp's comments have been kind-of akin to the Poop's.

In reply to the Pope, Trump said the Pope would be glad if Trump were Prez, to protect the world from Muz Extremists.

I could not find anywhere in Trump's reply any direct rebuttal - such as a suggestion that he is a Christian.

Which is fine. I've been told I'm not a Christian, and I always say I leave it up to Christ. And anyone can say they're a Christian, even the Imam in the White House.

Interstate 70 remains blocked in Glenwood Canyon due to continuing rockslides. We learned at least one important lesson yesterday. What happens when a boulder the size of a Volkswagen hits...well...a Volkswagen. Let's just say "Splatvergnugen" indeed.

The food situation remains dire as City Market supply trucks cannot reach town from Denver. Have not stabbed my neighbor yet, but have been honing my Randall knife.

I never realized how substantial the elderly population here is. Yesterday I watched from a safe distance as a roving pack of octogenarians clubbed a squirrel with their canes and then devoured it raw.

Hope is running out. Dinner last night consisted of half a tube of toothpaste and our last Nacho Cheese Dorito chip, artfully presented on a pewter platter with a garnish of dried grass. Send help...!!

321 4 Senate Republicans are getting ready to sell us out again. This time on Obama court pick which you know will be a raging liberal thus affecting the court balance. Also, tradition has been that during his last year in office the President will make no appointments saving it for the next President. But Obama is such an asshole and Senate Republicans pretty much give him anything he wants.

I think waiting to see and then telling Obama to FO is a more defensible position. Or say it looks really good for a vote and then sandbag and never get around to it. Saying they won't even consider the pick is manna to conservatives but a turn off to everyone else. It would give Obama something to carp about all during the election. If they appear to give it serious consideration it will shut him up a little bit anyway. The Senate should be able to carry off deception given the fact they are a bunch of lying scumbags.

We'll see if Cruz has a powerful enough ground game in SC to overcome all the negative crap the GOPe/MSM keep throwing at him.

I think if you're conservative and want a Constitutionally based gov't restored-

there's no doubt that you should be voting for Cruz.

I'm okay with Trump as a 2nd choice-

but we will not get a preference for conservative policy with him. He'll build a wall and hopefully deport illegals.

We'll also get single payer death care, but at least Trump's smart enough (I think) to realize that that won't work with the cost drag of 15-40 million illegals gobbling up the benefits without contributing a thing.

Along with other libtard nonsense.

That's really where the dividing line is.

I guess Mario is a factor, at eternal third place, but the others should drop out before Super Tuesday, so

we can have a couple of debates among the top 3.

That won't happen- cuz the GOPe is planning on a deadlocked convention.

Cruz and Trump are splitting the conservative base vote, which would straight up win based on numbers and percentages,

so one or the other needs a knock out punch.

Vote wisely.

351 I've never told anyone this.

For me the turning point was sitting
alone in my living room, drunk, and thinking about my Glock that would
fix it all and make everyone happy.

Then by happenstance I
noticed my dog looking at me. And it wasn't his normal "Meat please"
look. No, I swear it was a "What the fuck do you think you're doing,
you Fuck? Just who do you think is going to take care of me?" look.
And it shook me right down to my bones.

The next day I started
therapy and dealt with antidepressants for awhile. But the most helpful
thing anyone said was one therapist who told me "Always keep in mind
that when you're feeling low, the lowest you've ever felt and you see no
way out, that the reason is because of a chemical imbalance in your
brain. It isn't real." And keeping that has helped me more than
anything else.

It was ten years ago and it's still something I struggle with from time to time, but it doesn't rule my life any more.

Not sure how Republicans got colored red, but Lincoln did have some big government tendencies, and some influence from the 48ers from Germany which I guess were commie/socialist. But Democrats went full commie with Wilson and those private bankers getting control of our money. Oddly it too was snuck in right before Christmas with many absent.

Jwest, it's because depression is mental, physical, and spiritual.
When it's bad you are in a state of lethargy. You can't be bothered to take that first step to get out of the situation.

I've struggled with it for years starting in childhood.
