Months-Old Woke Anti-Male Miller Ad Goes Viral in the Wake of Tranheuser-Busch's Collapse

Its biggest rival suffering from a self-inflicted wound, Miller's Brain Trust decided to celebrate Feminism in Brewing -- and suggest that men are Johnny-Come-Latelys to brewing-- and attacked Disgusting White Cis Men for enjoying women in bikinis.

Updated: A commenter says this is a "months-old" ad which is just going viral now, and he's right.

In that case, it's not true, of course, that they decided to double down on Tranheuser-Busch's marketing catastrophe.

Still alienating. Makes me almost wish to go to AA.

Apologies for not checking that.

Literally a "hold muh beer" moment, says YellowFlash:

What's with all the cursing? I guess that is now a White Liberal Woman thing. They curse like sailors. "Anything a (spit) man can do I can do more awkwardly!"

History Hit coincidentally released a video about medieval women's occupations. Stuff they did in the home to make extra money. Like being a "dairymaid" (a woman who made butter and cheeses) and even a brewer.

So yes, it is true that women engaged in brewing.

But is it true that brewing was an occupation mostly performed by women, as Miller now claims? No of course not. It's absurd on the face of it. Were all the monks who brewed beer actually Transgender Men (biological women)?

Brewing was a major business and it was mostly performed by men.

Why is Miller gaslighting us? What do they hope to gain by lying? Is it just generally accepted that you can tell whatever lies you want as long as those lies boost a "protected" group?

Yes, that is it, of course.

Do the rest of us have to go along with the constant lying of The Ruling Class?

No we do not.

Meanwhile, Coors light just released an ad which claims Coors light is the beer of "rock stars, smugglers, cowboys, and presidents." And they didn't even post a picture of Obama.

However, you should know that Miller is owned by... Molson Coors.

So Coors releases one ad to appeal to Coors Banquet drinkers (which include Johnny from Cobra Kai) and another ad to appeal to Feminist Wokies.

The hell with both of them.

Some companies want to win your business, and some want to win votes for the Democrat Party.

Choose accordingly.

10 These companies are broken & have no idea who actually consumes their products
-----------------

They're not broken. It's an operation. Hence the apparent "inability" to learn.

As we have proof for our entire lived existence, the free market learns and adapts VERY quickly... under normal circumstances.

When companies "decide" after years of watching other companies suffer various fates, to imitate those very fates, you *have* to assume that the circumstances are not normal.

If it makes you feel better to assume the companies are "dumb" that's fine. It's possible to have a few dumb companies. But all these major ones? Nah bro. No one is that dumb unless they want to be.

I think everyone is kinda missing the point on this one. The woman in the ad is (the queer) half of the Broad City duo that was gonna be the next big thing until it wasn't. The other half went on to voice the female lead in the Enchanted show from Groening and company on Netflix which tells you all you need to know.

Anyways, Miller is explicitly targeting women who haven't yet switched to hard seltzers. That's it. That's the ad. Profanity is a likely plus, but the shameless gender pandering likely makes it a net negative.

Positioning a beer brand as a "tough broad's beer" is one small step away from making it a chick's beer, and that's never been a good idea.

108 So yes, it is true that women engaged in brewing.
++++
What I find funny is that if you take Miller's interpretation at face value - that women invented beer and produced most of it throughout ancient times - their ad still makes no sense at all. If this is true, then it's right and proper that men are forced into the brewing business.

In premodern times, brewing at the homestead scale would probably be associated with other food preparation. That is, it - like cooking and cleaning and other home-side functions - was women's work. Woman brewers were therefore a feature of the patriarchy, not some liberating activity. Celebrating the ancient history of woman brewers is therefore perpetuating patriarchal constructs and accelerating a regressive movement to re-enslave women to hearth and home.

Exactly. Brewing beer in the home was mostly women's work since antiquity. Jefferson's daughter was supposed to have been a damned fine brewer. And everyone who knows Boston knows the famous Alewife, Brook Parkway.

It was likely released by AB In Bev now and touted through media to try to help them...and we're complicit.

As I said earlier, it's an ad with all women doing women things. My kids like the ad, and that's who it was released for - 16-25 year olds. My kids absolutely hate sexual commercials with skimpily clad women. B/c of all the gender/sex sh&t they have to deal with in their generation, they want that issue out at all costs in their entertainment (which ads are)...

I'm betting In Bev dumped the "OMG, it's so woke" tagline stuff on us, just so we would give up and go back to them.

Immediately after, more companies come out in support of the same cause, so the boycott loses its focus.
Soon, the majority of left-wing corporations make the same statement; there are a few holdouts. Being a holdout is decreed to be uncool/bigoted. Now there are boycotts going the other way, banks refuse to open accounts for holdouts, etc.. Congress passes a law making transsexuality mandatory.

Yes, but maintain focus on one. This Miller ad is stupid and in a similar vein to other woke advertising. That said, let them be. At least for now.

Keep focusing on Tranheuser-Busch. Pound them into the dirt and wreck their enterprise value. *Every* major corporation is a woke den of snakes. It's a target-rich environment. You can't boycott everything all at once, so focus on one, isolate it, freeze it and destroy it. Alinksy rules. Claim the scalp and turn them into an object lesson. Then just wait for the next target to casually stroll across the field with no fear, rinse and repeat.

The only way past this is to make Corporate America fear its customers more than it fears Woke Capital. The only way to accomplish that is to destroy enough enterprise value quickly enough to make them scream. Focusing on a single target - again, Alinsky style - makes that much, much easier to accomplish.

The old "joke" is that at least half of all advertising and marketing dollars are wasted-- but no one knows which half.

Tracking or determining the effectiveness of ads-- say, an ad in the paper every Sunday-- is notoriously difficult, and no one wants to stop an ad and find out that it was effective by the plummeting sales after its absence.

Stuff like this, though, yeeeeah, this is spending money to spend money or support a grift.

It is odd that it has few subscribers (~25k, which seems low for a major brand, but I dunno) but it *appears* to be legit. Why I bring this up is because there's something interesting when you look at the original video: it's "unlisted." It isn't private (anyone can see it), but it doesn't appear on the channel's "Videos" page, nor will it turn up in search. I wonder when they pulled it to "Unlisted."

Because it almost can't be done. *Every* large business is woke now. Even if the Board isn't, its HR and marketing departments are, as is a goodly chunk of the C-suite.

This is why the pressure on Tranheuser-Busch is so good. What we're up against isn't the woke marketing departments, HR departments, executive boards and C-Suites. Those are all actually secondary. What we're up against is Woke Capital. Woke Capital rules the day and enforce the ESG shit. If you don't comply, your business will pay more for capital (if you can get it at all). The corporations - regardless of their own politics or politics of their officers - toe the line because they know the business could easily fail if Woke Capital decides to ice them out.

To overcome that, they must fear their customers more than Woke Capital. A slow burn of gradually declining customer counts and revenues won't do it. Severe, brutal punishment is better. Take them out one at a time until they fear us more than they fear Black Rock, et. al.

329 In premodern times, brewing at the homestead scale would probably be associated with other food preparation.

348 The New York Times (!!):

In Final Report, Trump-Era Special Counsel Denounces Russia Investigation

John Durham, the Trump-era special counsel who for four years has pursued a politically fraught investigation into the Russia inquiry, accused the F.B.I. of a “lack of analytical rigor” in a final report made public on Monday that examined the bureau’s investigation into whether the 2016 Trump campaign was conspiring with Moscow.

Mr. Durham’s 306-page report appeared to show little substantial new information about the F.B.I.’s handling of the Russia investigation, known as Crossfire Hurricane, and it failed to produce the kinds of blockbuster revelations impugning the bureau that former President Donald J. Trump and his allies had once suggested that Mr. Durham would find.

The Delta 8 has a much better high, no hangover and the cost is ridiculously low at something around $2 for a gummy that does as much for me as 3 or 4 beers.

Kratom is also very good. My opinion it’s the best drug available though you have to watch your intake because it can become addictive.

"Colorblindness" is racist now. Has been for a while. You see, to be "colorblind" is to deny a core component of the personal, individual identity of persons of color. Denying their race - or ignoring it - is to deny or ignore their identity as such. It's borderline genocidal.

Homebrewed for years, 4 times in full size brewery, turned down a Brewmeister job because they didn't want to pay enough to survive (the brewery went through 6 brewers the 1st year and closed after 2 years).

Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at May 15, 2023 04:53 PM (J2vNu)

Looked it up. "Dopple Bock" is doing it moreso:

Bock is a high alcohol content lager made using bottom-fermenting yeast in cold temperatures. Although stronger than the typical lager, most beers of this style are only moderately hopped and have a dominant malt character. Traditional bocks are brewed using Vienna and Munich malts. Small portions of roasted malts add color to the overall brew.

I have been through something similar at a big corporation. It happened during a downturn and the company put in place a "hiring freeze." No new hiring.

Well, managers of various stripes kept hiring anyway. Then word went out to Personnel that "hiring freeze" meant exactly what it sounded like, and that they were to deny *all* job offers made unless individual exceptions were explicitly granted by senior executives. It wasn't that the CEO had to approve all new employees, but only people at SVP or above were allowed to approve a policy override. At another company, it was your C-level exec who had to approve the override.

547 "Lack of rigor" is the type of thing you could write into a mob movie, which said by an underling would send the boss into a psychopathic rage, beating his head to a pulp with a claw hammer.

My memory may be faulty, but I think there was a goat head depicted on the label! Or maybe in the TV ads.

549 >>> 512 Is Elon slowly losing it?

He sent an email out saying nobody can get hired (full time or contractor) without his personal approval, at Tesla. When you own a company with 500 people, OK. When it's 30,000 people?

++++

I can't recall a hiring freeze being ignored at any place I've worked. I'd think if we weren't living in Clown World, that would result in those managers being un-hired.

552 This Miller example underlines the point that we must financially wreck these woke companies ONE AT A TIME. First, concentrate on punishing A-B, then move on to the next target.

Why? I am perfectly capable of not buying Budweiser whilst simultaneously — and at the same time! — not buying Miller.

556 I can understand why Durham phoned it in. Why bother, especially after the Clinesmith trial, to indict individuals and then have them tried in a DC Court in front of a DC jury. The FBI might pay attenion to details if their agents were indicted and tried in Cody, Wyoming.

557 I'm sure Ace is warming up the flaming skull for the Durham report.

I don't give half a shit about it, personally. His job was to slow-walk that shit and run out the clock. Mission. Fucking. Accomplished.

Every jackass what said any of his timewasting was worthwhile can fuck right the hell off.

562 That wonderful organization WHO (UN) came out last week that all spirits/beer, etc should be banned all over the world.
Try and tell an Irish pub drinker that to his face. But its the UN, what would you expect from them and their secret wine cellar full of fine wines. And the best whiskeys money can buy.

563 Just another data point to confirm we've had single party rule for about 15 years. And now that the justice system is completely dismantled, the next step is to make opposition completely illegal. And we're getting pretty close.

May I suggest RED LEG BREWERY out of Colorado Springs? Red Leg is the nickname for field artillery [branch colors on their uniform pants] and it is owned by veterans. Their master brewer has won several "First Place" awards at the Great American Brewfest and just recently won a "First Place" at the World Beer Cup.

566 We have to focus on Bud Light / Anheuser Busch.

If we spread our boycott out to much, we won't be able to maintain it.

Kill Bud Light first, then focus on the others.

But kill Bud Light dead.

567 I watched the Miller ad - it sucks. It thinks it is being funny...somehow. "Well grind up these old ads for Miller you all have been saving and make worm food out of it."

Okay - nobody is saving your stupid advertising.
And if they ere, they are not giving it to you.
And women in bikinis...sorry, what's the problem there?
Oh, and now women invented brewing, and if you think that is malarkey, get in line.

It's not as aggressively offensive as the Bud Light stuff...but just oh so precious and pleased with itself.

568 Were all the monks who brewed beer actually Transgender Men (biological women)?
Well, they did all wear dresses....

As to the "Women were the ones doing the brewing..." bit....
Of course women were doing the brewing. Because men were growing the hops and barley, chopping down the trees to make barrels, mining the metals out of the earth to make mash pots and mugs for drinking....
