THE MORNING RANT: Partying Like It’s 1773 - The Bud Light Tea Party

Bud Light Tea Party.JPG

A nation that is weary of every aspect of life being transexualized has found its moment to punch back.

The rebellion against Bud Light, the nation’s number one selling beer brand (at least until now), is our modern-day Boston Tea Party in response to woke oppression.

Without making this a boring history piece, there was more to the Boston Tea party than just a protest against tea taxes, it was a revolt against the unelected British government eroding colonists’ freedom and self-rule.

Here in 21st century America, where we were once asked to tolerate alternative lifestyles, we are now required to celebrate them. Refusal to do so can result in an individual being effectively cancelled from participation in society. We are forced to bow in obedience to the woke monarchy. Well, Americans have had enough. And they are figuratively throwing Bud Light overboard as a statement of defiance to the woke ruling class.

Don’t forget, the original tea party extended beyond Boston Harbor. British ships carrying tea were also blocked at other US ports including Philadelphia and New York. The tea rebellion against Great Britain spread across the colonies, moving them closer to independence, just like the Bud Light Tea Party is a nationwide event in the battle to free us from woke tyranny.

In response to this beer boycott, America’s ruling class has been snarking that this all shows just how bigoted conservatives are, as if this is simply about Anheuser Busch hiring a cross-dressing man to become the face of their beer. No, it’s so much more than that.

It’s partly that people are fed up with the denigration of women – as if being a woman is nothing more than wearing lipstick, a dress and a handbag. But it’s more than that.

It’s also partly the fact that our ruling class despises the average American, as evidenced by the fact that the Bud Light marketing VP who hired Mulvaney was quite open about her contempt for Bud Light’s loyal customer base. But it’s more than that too.

As Dana Loesch notes, the rebellion against Bud Light is also about the erasure of women with such ugly terms as “menstruating people” and “chest feeders.” The rebellion against Bud Light is about the invasion of women’s private spaces by biological men.

Dana Loesch - This isnt about beer.JPG

To make another historical analogy, the massive backlash against Bud Light is akin to the Texian army at San Jacinto. After a long, humiliating retreat its soldiers suddenly found themselves in position to go on offense, screaming “Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!” as they took revenge against Santa Anna’s army.

Now the battle cry might be “Remember Loudoun County! Remember Riley Gaines!”

The punishment being inflicted on Bud Light is retribution for high school sexual assaults in Loudoun County. It’s retribution for men who dominate women’s sports. It’s retribution for companies who coerce employees to celebrate lifestyles that are in conflict with some of the employees’ faiths and beliefs.

So we’ve won this battle, right? Not fully. The boycott must continue until the Bud Light brand is permanently and irreparably damaged. Heck, we should aim for such a complete and total victory that Anheuser Busch has to kill the brand altogether.

Bud Light is a lesson to all executives. You can lose everything if you empower woke employees and marketers to destroy your brand. Executives who don’t have the backbone to say “No” to the woke agenda should fear that their company will be targeted next.

16 I go into WalMart, straight to the ladies aisle near the pharmacy, grab a dozen boxes of Tampax in the pink box,
then go the beer aisle.

Wait until the coast is clear, then decorate a dozen Bud Light cases with a special gift box.

Doin' my part.

But I think the "For Rectal Use Only" stickers are far better. Only about an inch and a half long, they look like part of the product and are likely to go home with it.

This is possible, but I hope it isn't.

By that, I mean it hope it isn't *just* about every aspect of life being "transexualized." That is but a symptom of the problem (albeit a big one).

I am tired of every aspect of life being politicized. Everything from beer to sports to sitcoms to corporate mission statements to schools to everything else. Everything in life - at least, everything in life outside of individuals' personal relationships (hopefully) - is entirely political now. It's tiresome and is not conducive to engagement with anything. That's one of the reasons it's such a valuable tool for tyranny, and why I think it would be good if falls out of vogue.

24 "The rebellion against Bud Light, the nation’s number one selling beer brand (at least until now) . . . ."

Is that true? Bud Light was the NUMBER ONE selling beer brand? That's more shocking than hiring a dude with a dick to be the female face of the brand.

Bud Light tastes like what would be left if some homeless bum sharted in muddy pond water, poured it into a rusty old oil can, and topped it off with AIDS residue from a hypodermic needle.

I'm ashamed of my fellow Americans who drink this utter swill.

Yes, but the underlying real reasons - which you go on to outline - must never be named.

Shouting "BIGOTRY! OPPRESSION! HATEFUL MONSTER MAGATS!" is safe. It's expected. It avoids the point. They must never acknowledge the real motivators, which include very uncomfortable assessments like, "they hate us" and "we hate them and want them to suffer" and follow-on assessments like, "we're sadists and monsters and get our jollies by hurting them. Hurting them is like little blue pills for us. By rights, they should run us out of town on rails."

Any type of collective action requires a buy-in and investment into the cause which is why the left does rallies etc. all the time. The right could do rallies but they are constantly harassed by leftists to spoil the experience and cause a threat fear.

An unpopular take, I'm sure, but if what we're trying to do is stand against trans ideology in defense of the feminine, without insisting that men be treated honestly - and fairly - as well, this will merely hasten the inevitable loss of the culture war.

This ties in to some of what Thesokorus and I were batting back and forth on the last thread.

"Good will" advertising is common, and this stunt by Bud Light is of that type. It doesn't advertise the product itself, it is trying to build good will toward the brand.

When you get that wrong (deliberately or accidentally), it turns in to "ill will" advertising and has the opposite effect. It makes people *hate* your brand and avoid it all costs.

Today's rhetoric greatly resembles that of the era right before the American Civil War and for much of the same reason. Ditto for the American Revolution and the Declaration lays out the causes for separation that occurred over a decade of mistreatment. Similar dueling before the English Civil War and other such instances as the grievances of the two opposing sides creates a chasm that cannot be filled and cannot be moderated.

To a very large company with many large divisions, it just means the underperforming division will be shuttered or sold off. No great loss.

73 "Wokism" has an older antecedent, "virtue signaling." Corporations think it's just a harmless gesture that means nothing.

But appealing to trannies is appealing to people who are seriously, dangerously mentally ill.

Virtue signaling destroys everything that employs it, because it triggers demand and the demand can never be satisfied.

78 Today's rhetoric greatly resembles that of the era right before the American Civil War and for much of the same reason. Ditto for the American Revolution and the Declaration lays out the causes for separation that occurred over a decade of mistreatment. Similar dueling before the English Civil War and other such instances as the grievances of the two opposing sides creates a chasm that cannot be filled and cannot be moderated.

There is other cheap swill out there already and AB will have problems trying to go below those prices for a variety of reasons like stores simply not ordering it and labels like Transheuser Busch hurts the broad spectrum of beer in an essentially stagnant market.

AB has essentially embraced the tar baby (see Uncle Remus tales) and every move they make will piss off some of their consumers. That is the risk of conglomerates as they diffuse risk but are fragile to a change affecting the whole unit. Disney is another example of that.

That's such a good piece of wordplay because it's easy to remember, the same number of syllables, hits the brand directly on this issue, and lends itself to being "sticky" in a person's mind. No ad agency or marketing department could pay for something that effective.

AB is also a foreign company competing in an environment where essentially you can get cheap swill beer from a variety of sources. That makes it particularly vulnerable to having its whole brand name be affected including the valuable Budweiser name.

The comment that brought home how absurd it is was the, the "genocide" of trans. WTH. What genocide? Mentally ill people being used by progs, despicable.

It has nothing to do with trans rights. They are just a means to an end, and the end is your compliance.

But here's how you'll know when the *war* is won. When former FedGov officials living in semi-hiding have to send kids out to pick up a pint of milk, for fear of recognition and retribution. Not to say that limited actions against the others are not appropriate, especially if humorous. Especially if you can show how their ads adversely affect, say, women and children.

Romanian Christmas occurs suddenly after a very long time. Simply put, people dither on tough decisions until they don't. Corrupt oligarchies are actually the shortest lived form of government listed by Aristotle because simply put--they cannot agree on what is to be done and how fast to respond. That is why the Soviet Union crumbled with a coup against Gorby launched way too late to stop the trend.

Even Stalin tread carefully until he got rid of all his rivals or drove them away likewise that German creep. Takes time to become El Supremo Leader.

This is also the problem we faced after WWII, and why the Nuremberg approach was useful.

There was no way to punish the evildoers. There were too many of them, at all levels. To rout them out all out would likely have been impossible and trying to achieve it would have depopulated the country. So instead, the worst of the evildoers were publicly tried and executed. They became, in a very real sense, the scapegoats for the ideology. The high-powered executives were killed in cold blood, the ideology was repudiated and made illegal, anyone identifying with it was forced to go underground and it was made a curse. The ideology was, in effect though not in fact, stripped out root and branch without having to kill at least half of the surviving Germans.

I do business in West Africa. There are places like Sierra Leone and Liberia where a few years ago your neighbor was trying to kill your family and you were trying to kill his. No one has any interest in pursuing it now, because it would open up too many old scores to settle. So everyone basically has collective amnesia about those years.

201 If you haven't, listen to Bud Light's VP's podcast interview. The army recruited around DEI, ESG, trans etc. join up to gain access to position for which they are not qualified or competent. Create new criteria by which you will be judged other than succeeding in growing your brand. This woman has a Harvard undergrad and a Wharton MBA. Not one word out of her mouth in a 54 minute interview is original. Not one thought expressed will do anything for the brand she is supposed to lead. She is more interested in advancing women than Bud Light sales. Putting a woman in charge of a brand that appeals far more to men than women would have been fine if that woman had a 10 year history of working on Bud Light, lived the challenges and successes of the brand through good times and bad. Heinerscheid comes across as so out of touch with the brand she heads that she is beyond parody.

Modelo in the US is not owned by AB: (from wiki)

In 2013, Constellation acquired Grupo Modelo's US beer business from Anheuser-Busch InBev. Constellation had formerly imported Corona and other Modelo brands to the United States and acquired the US rights to those brands as a part of an anti-trust settlement permitting Modelo's acquisition by Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Good thing I don't go to sportsball games or arena concerts. Fucking Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale this past January was the same way. Had to run a card to get a ticket to go in, and nearly all the food vendors were card-only. I found one little taco truck that took cash, and that lady got my lunch dollars.

Or Buttigieg’s plan to solve ‘gender inequity’ by promoting female crash test dummies.

And just yesterday, the 'Save women's sports' bill passed the House with zero votes from Dems, who called it transgender 'bullying'.

They got jokes & nothing but contempt for anyone to have a different view from their campaigns and programs. >>>Unrepresented, 2024.

218 My final update about the minor story but because it involves the worst bank in Canada for freezing and seizing Trucker Protesters' accounts, money...

||The theft, first reported by the Toronto Sun, happened on Monday in the early evening hours and saw $22 million worth of gold and banknotes stolen. A confidential memo shared with the Sun stated that the bank in question was TD while the airline was Air Canada.

Asked for a comment, Air Canada sent a terse note from a generic email address.

“Hello, we have no information to provide. Please contact the Peel Police,” the email read in full.

TD did not respond to several requests for comment sent to the bank.

It’s understood that the gold and banknotes were being shipped as part of an intra-bank transaction, though the identity of the other bank in the transaction isn’t known at this time.||

Essentially yes, but there is a specific reason to dislike so-called "Central Bank Digital Currency," and it ties in to bad government.

Even with a bad government, old-fashioned cash money - whether the money is any good or not is beside the point - is private. A CBDC would be un-private. Every transaction at all levels is tracked. Privacy is *impossible* in such a scheme, and bad government makes that absence of privacy a goal of the scheme.

I didn't say that yesterday. I said that I would not join a movement to steal everything possible in order to send a message to "the man" because God said to not steal and I take that literally.

How God judged this action is unknown to me as I am not God. How God would judge a specific act of theft from the unrighteous, or in a case of extremis, is unknown to me as I am not God. I, however, shall not steal.

279 The disclosure fed claims by congressional Republicans that a Justice Department run by the president’s political appointees could not be trusted to make a decision about his son based on the facts and law.

The letter said the client had information that would contradict sworn testimony to Congress from a senior political appointee, an apparent reference to Attorney General Merrick B. Garland, who has offered assurances that the U.S. attorney in Delaware, David C. Weiss, who was appointed by President Donald J. Trump, would be free to run the investigation.

In response, Hunter Biden’s criminal defense lawyer, Christopher Clark, fired back on Thursday, claiming that the I.R.S. supervisor broke the law by disclosing confidential taxpayer information and called on the Justice Department to investigate the supervisor. Mr. Clark said that the only way it was known that the supervisor’s complaints could be linked to the Hunter Biden investigation would be if the supervisor or his lawyer disclosed it, either of which, he said, would have been improper. -NY Times

I guess my point was not buying swill you think tastes like cat piss is not boycotting, but, men are still helping the cause, no matter that it's not to defend women.

Maybelline (as an example) is owned by L'Oreal, they own numerous brands, including shampoos. They aren't being boycotted, that I know of. Women can sometimes be their own worst enemies ie walking into a high-end makeup shop and letting a trans/fake women give them advice on a product so they don't make waves/get shamed as transphobic.

Men can "boycott" an item simply because they didn't like the product in the first place, like sports teams, conservative women in general still want to teach the world to sing.
