IMO the thing to watch over the next couple months is what happens with McConnell. The reporting on the dissatisfaction with his leadership and how he (they're not naming Paul Ryan at this point, or Kevin McCarthy) sabotaged a number of Republicans that could have won their races.
As is typical, they focus on one person. McConnell needs to be expelled, no just resign, but thrown out of the party and stripped of any possible influence. So does McCarthy. As for Paul Ryan... hope he get's hit by a bus. Posted by: Martini Farmer at November 13, 2022 06:41 AM (Q4IgG) 48
Largest piece of airframe left at Dallas is the left outer wing and the tail of B-17G "Texas Raiders." The post-impact fire reduced the rest of the main fuselage and wings to congealed puddles of melted aluminum. The P-63F disintegrated upon impacting the B-17.
Five were reported aboard the B-17G and one in the P-63F. Posted by: Anna Puma at November 13, 2022 06:42 AM (y47SN) 49

Which is why I am interested in the Pilot, I suspect strongly that the plane was way too much plane for them. The late era WW2 prop jobs were physically exhausting to work and if you look at photos of those pilots you can see they were in great physical condition. You needed rapid hand eye coordination and spatial awareness to pass their flight schools. I am not even "that guy" saying the airframes should not be flying, and if they are privately held they should be displayed aerially for as long as possible but why on God's green Earth would you try to "replicate what ww2 looked like" in a way that forced proximity like that? Joe Kent is finished in WA-03.
Streiff from RedState hangs it on Trump, of course. Kent is an "election denier" etc. No mention of Republican leadership running against him with stunts like comparing Kent to Hitler in campaign ads and hanging him out to dry. Dead State is buying into the narrative And projecting it. But, reality. Now tells us that Reps lose the House. What happens over the next 2 years with this "Party" will tell the tale of us survivng or not I'm actually hopeful. Posted by: GigantorX at November 13, 2022 07:51 AM (vPu9I) 206

337. I don't think so, but blaming the victim is always chic. The dems cheated like crazy, and blaming ourselves for not "beating the margin of fraud" is straight out stupid. Fraud is not being prosecuted and is avidly supported by people like Barr. Plus, they will "count" and manufacture as long as it takes. Voting is NOT the issue, the issue is fraud. Trump is not the issue, the issue is fraud. DeSantis is not the issue, the issue is fraud, unprosecuted, bipartisan grifter sanctioned fraud.
And if people see that voting GOP will harm them and subject them to being canceled and damaged professionally, they are sensible to do that. The GOP will do nothing to stop this. Disillusionment may be real, because people are sick of seeing fraud and crime in general go entirely unpunished. Posted by: CN at November 13, 2022 08:30 AM (Zzbjj) 356

The world is topsy-turvy. A Canadian friend of mine told me a terrible story yesterday, about his neighbor in his summer cabin area, in Nova Scotia.
She needed an emergency gall bladder operation, and went to Halifax for it because their local clinic was closed due to doctor shortage. There, she sat for two days waiting and, finally, she died. In the ER. He tells me so many Canadian doctors have moved to the US to practice that smaller communities (even cities like Halifax) simply don't have doctors. I'll say the quiet part out loud. If we want to clean up elections, we have to cheat just as hard. Instead of spending money on TV ads, spend the money on bounties for ballots.
Where harvesting is legal, develop giant secure ballot storage areas that we control, pay people to go get the ballots, and dump them in the supervisors office on election day, and have lawyers watch while they are counted. As others have said, the Dems have changed the game. It is about ballots, not votes. So we have to win the new game. Posted by: Dave in Fla at November 13, 2022 08:35 AM (5p7BC) 381

You know the folks who still gripe about that meanie in 4th grade, even when they're 29, instead of, you know, punching the bully in the nose when they had the opportunity in 4th grade. Unless states tie ballots to specific voters, however the ballots are cast (mail, drop box, polling place), fraud or ballot harvesting (which, as Dave points out, is astoundingly legal wherever Democrats can make it so) will occur.
The simple fact is tying a voter to his/her ballot (as Florida did so well when I lived there) yields an honest election. Anything else is fraud. Posted by: Huck Follywood at November 13, 2022 08:42 AM (DUdu5) 405

Posted by: CN at November 13, 2022 08:39 AM (Zzbjj) There is no "let's cheat too, then" when the institutions that enable fraud are entirely in the hands of those who cheat. Fold as many ballots as you like, you'll just wind up in jail. And if you could somehow capture the institutions back that would enable you to cheat... then there's not much point in cheating anymore, is there? A voter, if they care enough, can track their vote right through the process to finalization. One of the reasons Republicans lose all the time is that the GOP is either incapable of cheating (they don't know how) or they're unwilling to cheat... unless it suits them.
I think they know damn well how to cheat. But they only do it when they "want to win." That's the key. There are many races they simply don't want to win because the candidates are not suitable to the ideals of the current GOP. The Democrats don't care. They know the candidate will vote the way they want regardless of their sensibilities. Posted by: Martini Farmer at November 13, 2022 08:56 AM (Q4IgG) 454

Regarding the House, the math right now is that the Dems have to win all 5 of 5 districts that appear to be tossups. This math assumes that they will win Alaska.
I've looked closely at those 5 districts, and two are in Arizona and are being held up by this vote dump that Hobbs refuses to drop. I think AZ-1 will go GOP once she is forced to release the vote totals. One of the tossups is CA-13 which I have some inside info on and I am pretty sure the Dems will win that. I think the GOP will win 3 or 4 of the tossups and end up at 220 or 221. But YMMV. I'm not going to try to talk anyone out of their convictions at this point. ________ You are probably correct if nothing changes. But if it is this close, I think the Dems will be extremely motivated to find the best opportunities to tip the scales in order to keep their majority, avoid investigations, keep Jan6 crap going, keep control of billions. Many of the races left are in California with only roughly 50% of the ballots counted. Super easy, barely an inconvenience. Posted by: Chuck Martel at November 13, 2022 09:07 AM (fs1hN) 481

CO-3 is one that everyone is assuming will be a GOP hold to make the math discussed above work. If Dems find a way to steal that one at the last minute, then I think they definitely will hold the House. Posted by: Dave in Fla at November 13, 2022 09:22 AM (5p7BC) 492

The NY-17 thing is interesting. Does NY have mail-in ballots? Because the ''eat Chef Boyardee'' line was in the final days before the election. Did that precipitate a lot of anger on both sides and cause a lot of people to vote in person? Seems like there might be a story there. Posted by: Divide by Zero at November 13, 2022 09:23 AM (y3pKJ) 494

Everyone knows these "close" elections were stolen by the Democrats. Everyone. And yet, no one tries to fight the fraud. People just decry it on social media. And all the officer holders want to shame any of us who protest election outcomes (or imprison us). If something doesn't change and fast to show the people Republicans will fight the cheat, people will simply give up and stop voting (me for example). I have never been so demoralized.

Republicans should learn how to cheat better and more discretely than the left. Then we'd see massive election reform.

Let me explain it again, since that used to be my district. Jamie Hererra Beutler barely won against the Dem last time. The rural counties vote conservative, but Clark Counry is urban and full of people that moved there from Portland. The conservatives managed to get Joe Kent enough votes to give Jamie the boot but not enough to beat the Dem in the election. And it's all vote by mail.
